Staying right in Garzê! Bokang Gabu Hotel hides the gentle charm of the plateau
On this trip to Garzê, I chose Bokang Gabu Hotel and was truly pleasantly surprised! To find such a comfortable hotel on the plateau, with a great environment, complete facilities, and the chance to enjoy picking fresh produce, made the whole stay worry-free~
Location:
It’s right in Kangding City, Garzê Prefecture, with an excellent location! Not far from downtown, convenient for daily life, and driving to attractions like Mugecuo and Zheduo Mountain is very easy, about an hour’s drive, no need to rush back and forth.
Environment & Design:
The hotel is nestled under the blue sky and white clouds of the plateau, with distant mountain views all around. The air is incredibly fresh, every deep breath feels pure. The overall decor combines Tibetan style with modern simplicity. The lobby features Tibetan patterns and wooden beams, giving it a stylish yet not oppressive feel. Green plants decorate the public areas, sunlight streams through the floor-to-ceiling windows, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere perfect for resting.
Heated Swimming Pool:
I didn’t expect to find a heated pool in Garzê! The water temperature is just right, so you can swim comfortably in winter or summer, and the water looks clean. After swimming, there’s a resting area nearby where you can drink water and relax. Soaking a bit when tired is very soothing—perfect for someone like me who loves swimming.
Suite Comfort:
The suite I booked was very spacious, plenty of room for the whole family. The room was spotless, with soft beds and pillows that made sleeping very restful. The bathroom has a dry and wet separation, fully stocked with toiletries, and hot water comes quickly, making showering convenient. The room’s facilities like air conditioning and TV all worked well, making the stay hassle-free.
Food & Dining:
The hotel serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all home-style flavors, nothing too complicated. Breakfast includes porridge, noodles, eggs, and buns, enough to fill you up; main meals feature local and home-style dishes with fresh ingredients and authentic taste, so no need to go out hunting for food.
Executive Lounge & Afternoon Tea:
The executive lounge is quite quiet, a nice place to sit, have tea, and chat. In the afternoon, you can order afternoon tea with small cakes, fruit, and cookies, paired with coffee or tea. Eating slowly and resting here really helps ease travel fatigue.
Fruit & Vegetable Picking Fun:
The hotel has a small vegetable garden where you can pick fresh vegetables and fruits yourself. I picked some cherry tomatoes and cucumbers, eating them fresh was especially delightful. Taking kids to experience this is also great, letting them enjoy the countryside fun.
Attentive Butler Service:
The butler was very kind and attentive from check-in to check-out. They helped carry our luggage and introduced the hotel facilities and nearby sightseeing routes. Any questions were answered patiently, like asking about picking times or good local food spots, making the stay very reassuring.
Transportation & Nearby Attractions:
Transportation: We drove ourselves, just search “Garzê Bokang Gabu Hotel” on the GPS. The hotel has ample parking, very convenient; if you don’t drive, a taxi from Kangding Airport takes about 40 minutes, and taxis are easy to get.
Nearby Attractions: About an hour’s drive to Mugecuo Scenic Area to see alpine lakes, grasslands, and forests with stunning scenery; about an hour to Zheduo Mountain to experience the grandeur of the “First Pass of Kham”; you can also visit Tagong Grassland to enjoy the prairie vibe, about 2 hours by car. The butler will recommend suitable routes to avoid crowds.
This stay in Garzê was truly fantastic. The hotel perfectly combines comfort and local character, suitable for couples, friends, or family trips. I’ve already recommended it to friends planning to visit Garzê~
