Chongqing Wushan | Four Days Three Nights Practical Guide

Last month I went to Chongqing Wushan for four days and three nights, with a total cost of about 1500 yuan. I found that Wushan is a place with few people and beautiful scenery. The grilled fish is very delicious, suitable for friends who like niche attractions. Here is my itinerary for reference. Day One: Take the high-speed train from Chongqing to Wushan, the fare is 200 yuan, and the journey takes two hours. Stay in the Quanji Hotel in the county town, clean and hygienic, you can see the river view, the price is more than 300 yuan (less than 200 per capita). Visit Wushan Museum in the afternoon, where there are the earliest human fossils in China - Wushan Man fossils, and many treasures of the town hall. In the evening, go to the pier to eat the most authentic Chongqing grilled fish Wushan grilled fish, the taste is super good, even I, a Guangdong person who doesn't like spicy food, can't stop eating, it can be said that it is the best grilled fish I have ever eaten. After dinner, continue to take a boat at the pier to experience the Three Gorges Night Tour, the fare is 98 yuan, although the night view of the mountain city is not as atmospheric as Shanghai and Guangzhou, but combined with mountains and rivers, and clouds and fog, it is very dreamy and wonderful. Day Two: After breakfast at the hotel, go to the pier to take a boat to tour the Little Three Gorges, the fare is 120 yuan (including the ticket for the Little Little Three Gorges), the whole journey is 4 hours. This is one of the earliest 5A scenic spots in China, composed of Longmen Gorge, Ba Fog Gorge, and Dripping Green Gorge. The mountains and valleys along the way are crisscrossed, sometimes with flying waterfalls, sometimes with hanging coffins, and four hours passed unconsciously. Return to the county town for lunch at noon, and then go to the Goddess Scenic Area. The Goddess Sky Road is very spectacular. You can see the Yangtze River winding from the foot to the distance. Unfortunately, it was cloudy when we went there, but fortunately there was a sea of clouds, which was like a fairyland. Leave the Goddess Sky Road scenic area and go to the Goddess Peak. Standing on the top of the mountain, you can overlook all the small mountains, which is very spectacular. If it is in mid to late November when the leaves are red, it will be more beautiful. In the afternoon, take a boat to tour the Goddess Creek, watch the Goddess Peak up close, and stay in a homestay by the river. Dinner and breakfast are also eaten at the homestay. Day Four: Watch the sunrise of the Goddess Peak in the morning, and after breakfast, take a boat back to the county town, and then go to Dachang Ancient Town, and return in the afternoon. Wushan Mini Three Gorges

In the Three Gorges area of the Yangtze River, in addition to the Great Three Gorges, there is also the famous Wushan Mini Three Gorges. Wushan County 🇨🇳 Chongqing

Wushan County didn't appear in many reviews or tourist blogs, but it should!!! It's easy to get to on the fast train from Chongqing and there are taxi's available at the station and in the town's. First up we went on the tourist boat through the three gorges, it took just under 2 hours and the views were amazing. (I'd recommend a few cold bottles of water for the boat). The boat then arrives at Dachang ancient town, where you can get tasty local treats and relax by the water. The tourist boat returns quite quickly (15/20 mins). We managed to take the locals boat back to Wushan as we wanted to explore a bit longer. Once back in Wushan town, there are so many choices, you can head to the mountain side temples, pagodas at the top of the peaks or grab a barrel of Pina colada, at what appeared to be the only non-ktv bar around. We opted for the mountain top pagoda for sunset and a barrel of coconut cocktail 🍹

Beautiful scenery at WuShan. We visited 巫山小山峡, 神女天路, 三峡龙脊 and 文峰景区。 It will be ideal to come during December as this is also the time you will be able to witness a mountain fill with 红叶🍁. When we arrive, we didn’t get to witness it as the weather wasn’t cold enough. Just a note, the cruise ride to 巫山小山峡 is a 4 hours ride. Along the way you will change to a smaller boat to tour around 小小山峡. There is only 2 timing for this 4 hours cruise ride (9am and 2pm).

Wushan Small Three Gorges - Bawu Gorge.

Bawu Gorge is the second gorge of the Small Three Gorges, stretching 10 km from Dongpingba to Taiping Beach. Named after the Bawu River, a tributary within the gorge, it is also known as Iron Coffin Gorge or Guanyin Gorge.
