During this year's travels, although I have witnessed many magnificent sunsets, only the one in Kota Kinabalu can be called the scene of the century, deeply engraved in my heart. The sky gradually transitioned from a gentle pink to a mysterious purple, and at that moment, I felt like I was in a fairy tale world. My vacation at Shangri-La's Tanjung Aru Resort was thus tinged with a touch of fantasy. Following a friend's advice, I stayed a few more days in Kota Kinabalu and without hesitation chose to stay at Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort. The Tanjung Aru Shangri-La elevated this trip to a climax. The Chinese food here is very palatable and seasoning is on point. ⭐ My favourite dishes: 1. Wok Fried Vegetables with Mushroom served in Yam Ring (MYR 58) - yam was so soft, outside crust crispy, very nicely done! 2. Crispy Chicken with Mangoes (MYR 58) 3. Paku Salad with Black Fungus (MYR 38) 4. Double Boiled Fish Maw Coconut Chicken Soup (MYR 38) 👍 Rating: 10/10! Overall it was a nice dining experience in The Eighth. The gallery of Sabah Bajau Sama Cultural Centre is highlighted and shows everything about Bajau Sama, from handicrafts, motifs, musical instruments, wedding decorations, and antiques to clothing. Photo-taking is allowed in the gallery. This place could promote more of Sabah’s culture as this place show and introduce Bajau Sama’s culture specifically. In Sabah Bajau Sama also known as a colourful tribe as uses bright yellow, red, blue and green as the main colours. Visitor could explore the two traditional Bajau houses (farmer and fisherman) behind the main building. Such wooden houses are getting rare when most people prefer brick-and-mortar buildings nowadays.

Shang Ri La Rasa Ria Kota Kinabalu

Spend 3 days and 2 nights in this resort in January 2022. I had a fantastic experience during my stay. Spacious, Well kept and maintained room. The service was outstanding, helpfu, friendly and welcoming. fascinating views from our balcony, with fresh and lively sea breeze. The breakfast was extensive,wide varieties and delicious too. Huge swimming pool and had so much fun swimming. Definitely will repeat the stay

UPSIDE DOWN HOUSE

One of the tourist attractions in sabah you can also enjoy 3d museum instead of the upside down house. It is such a unique place to visit but unfortunately you are not allowed to take pictures from Inside the upside down house. The owner is innovative to construct an upside down house to attract the attention of the tourists in order to introduce culture locally bajau #sabah #travel

Tamparuli Suspension Bridge

One of the main tourist attractions in tamparuli. The view from the bridge is nice as usual can see the views of the river. There is new mural at bottom and the pillar which make this place great to take pictures. Don't forget to sto by at there volunteers booth at one end of the bridge they will give you a brief history lesson about the place and perform a jambatan tamparuli musicaldance for you. #sabah #mytripvlog

Shopping & Majestic View

My favourite place in Malaysia is Sabah. My luck because I got married to Sabahan from Kundasang, Ranau. Sabah has becomes my hometown ,my favourite travel place. Whenever I go back to Kundasang, I will always stop by at Nabalu Market, the view , can't be explained by words. Magnificient. There's also a lot and variety of souvenir . Don't buy a lot, but must get one that catch your eyes. Shopping and enjoy the view. Kiulu White River Rafting - Kiulu, BKI

We went for the Kiulu river (Grade I-II) white water rafting, had a really good experience even though all of us were first time rafters. The guide Jeff and Lilo were very friendly and professional, the ride itself was quite relaxed for the most part as we ride with the river flow while rafting through a few rapids. Lunch was included in the package, and it was cooked fresh at the beautiful Riverbug base camp at the end of the river. It was simple but delicious, and vegetarian options were available as well. Shower facilities available at the base camp. Upon request, they have van transfer service available to and fro your place of stay and the rafting location (subjected to availability). You can drive yourself there as well, but the road condition is similar if not worse than the road to Kundasang. Besides rafting, other activities such as camping, small flying fox across the river and back, etc are also available at the base camp, though we did not participate in them. #tripblazers #awesomepic #rafting

Cowboy Town in Sabah 🐴

It is easy to access to as it is near the main road and have a big signboard to show you if you're in the right place. Here, we can walk along the mangrove forest on a bridge. It is such a great experience to be surrounded by nature. There are 2 place where you can have a meal here. One is near the entrance with a cowboy theme cafe and the second is near the mangrove forest called the bamboo restaurant. All the worker is friendly and nice, price for the food is also affordable. You can also see a lot of horses here and all of them are healthy and big, tiu can also ride on it for MYR20 (during my time). Alongside the mangroves forest you can also see a various of the sabahan indigenous houses before. All in all it was a great experience 😍👍

COWBOY TOWN, THE MAIN ATTRACTION

Tempat menarik di Sabah yang menjadi tarikan dan pilihan utama! Unik dan klasik bercirikan “Pekan Koboi!”, Sabandar Cowboy Town. Yuran yang dikenakan untuk menunggang kuda bagi satu pusingan padang hanyalah RM20. Meskipun tidak mempunyai pengalaman menunggang kuda, ia tidak menjadi sebarang masalah. Setiap pelanggan akan dijaga oleh pemandu kuda, dan memastikan perkara yang tidak diingini dari berlaku. Selain itu, terdapat pelbagai aktiviti lain yang boleh disertai di tempat ini; meninjau taman bakau, melihat kunang-kunang, ATV, berlayar dan bermacam-macam lagi. A Great Road Trip to Sabandar Cowboy Town

I had booked a tour package with a group of friends to Sabandar Cowboy Town two weeks ago. The tour package was RM75.00 per pax which included mangrove park walk, dinner, sunset beach and firefly cruise. Sabandar is located in the heart of Tuaran, approximately about 45 mins from KK town. On the day, we departed from KK Town around 3pm and we stopped by Our Land Eco Farm for a evening tea. The restaurant ambience is good and they provide a variety of seafoods. We ordered fresh oysters and tiger prawns and both were served in ‘local sashimi’ style. Oysters and tiger prawns were awesome and fresh, however the price is slightly higher. But worth a try! We arrived Sabandar Cowboy Town around 5pm. There is a mini farm where we get to feed and play with rabbits. Of course, there are horses in cowboy town and you can have horse riding experience. Thereafter, we had a leisure walk in the mangrove park, it was so relaxing and highly recommended for nature lovers. However, I would advise to wear long pants or put on insect repellant to avoid mosquitoes bites. The dinner was ready around 5:45pm and we were served with Korean Bibimbap. It was a simple dinner but delicious. After the dinner, we headed to Sabandar Beach for sunset. It is about 5 mins drive from Sabandar Cowboy Town to the beach. Again, I must say it that Sabah has one of the world’s best sunsets. The photos (with no filter) say it all. Lastly, the highlight of the trip was the Firefly Cruise. It was my first time experiencing firefly watching and I was amazed at the sight of fireflies. I would say that it was a romantic to-do activity for a couple! Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take picture as it need to be completely dark to attract the fireflies. But, please do experience it yourself! Weekend Getaway - Shangri-la Rasa Ria

Celebrate my mom's Birthday at this Resort, kudos to the housekeeping team who decorated the bed with flowers petals and leaves and we even welcome by a plate of delicious macaroons and a pack of local fried fruit. The room we booked was Garden Wing with Ocean View. Spacious and clean room, love the bathtub in toilet we could enjoy bubble bath anytime. There is a big sofa facing to the balcony I could just lye there and watching the beautiful beach and blue sky the whole day, so relaxing and chill to escape from busy town. Not to forget their buffet breakfast at Coffee Terrace Restaurant. I was so delighted to try their International foods and every dish is superb delicious. We stay during CMCO period and they have a special promotion which is early check in and late check out with special rate. This is a really good deal!

A Great Escape at Shangri-La Rasa Ria, Sabah.

I am based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and this is my 3rd staycation in this fantastic resort. This resort is about 40 mins drive from KK Town and I dropped by Kg Salut to get my favourite coconut pudding. There are basically all stalls selling the same coconut pudding but Gerai Sudi Mampir is highly recommended. I stayed at Ocean Wing Junior Suite Sea View King Room this time and the sea view was amazing! The room is spacious and comes with a big bathtub at the balcony (which could occupy 2 to 3 adults). There was nothing better in life than soaking myself in an oversized bathtub with a sea view! I must say that Sabah has one of the world’s best sunsets and this resort has the best spot for sunset watching! No joke. Apart from sunset, I also woke up at 5am for a sunrise hime at Rasa Ria Reserve. It was about 20mins hike to the peak and the sunrise view was breathtaking with a spectacular beachfront view and tropical forest. Lastly, not forget to mention that the Resort was serving ala carte breakfast menu and semi buffet. The foods were great and the staff services were efficient and attentive. Jambatan Tamparuli

The bridge is for pedestrian uses only and the lower bridge meant for vehicles but with a single lane only. Although the road sign boards signifies the bridge as a tourist destination, not much is mentioned of it on the state's tourism website except describing it as the famous Jambatan Tamparuli from which one can continue uphill to Kiulu for the White Water Rafting activity upriver. If you happen to be on your way to Kinabalu Park, just drop by since it just a short distance from the main road. Well, we have some great news! There are a total of more than 3,000 vanilla trees that will be ready for harvest in one year are growing on 5 hectares of land. Besides that, the company aims to grow 12,000 vanilla trees on the land as well at Tuaran, Sabah. That is a lot of trees and this is where smart farming comes in to play. Is Shangri-La Rasa Ria worth a visit ?

We had a wonderful staycation at Shangri-La Rasa Ria recently. The suite was awesome! The outdoor bathtub and the breathtaking sea view were the highlight of the stay. This fantastic resort has two wings, Garden Wing and Ocean Wing. Stayed at the ocean wing and it was very peaceful and enjoyable. A lot of activities can be done here. For the adventurous, try horse riding and do explore Dalit Bay Forest Reserve nearby. Not to forget teeing off at an award winning Dalit Bay Golf Club. Nature themed activities and the surroundings make us appreciate nature more. A very good place to experience how nature and development can co exist. Will I come back? Yes. Pekan Nabalu

It is a small village and a regular tourist stop. It has also a lookout point for Mount Kinabalu. The clouds weren't covering the entire tip yet but the clouds were moving fast when we arrived. Nature framing nature. The mountain is an inspiration behind several local legends and folklore ranging from the resting place for the souls of ancestors to the loyalty and undying love of a Bornean woman married to a Chinese prince. So the mountain is kind of a monument of love in the local culture. Standing at 4,095.2m, the sole way to earn a right to brag is to trek to the mountain top. Strong legs are not the only requirement for the climb though, as a dangerous 300m stretch along a section of the face of the mountain with just a tight walking space and a sheer plunge off the cliff should one miss a step, calls for a fearless heart as well. #besttrip #urbanexplorer #summerdays#roadtrip
