FilaDaStylist PassportExploiter Tangier's Old Town in Winter: A Hidden Gem
If you're looking for a unique winter travel destination, look no further than Tangier's Old Town. This Moroccan gem is often overlooked by tourists in favor of the country's more popular cities, but it's a hidden treasure just waiting to be explored.
In the winter months, the streets are less crowded, the temperatures are mild, and the traditional architecture is beautifully accented by the crisp winter light. As you wander through the maze of alleyways, you'll discover hidden squares, ornate doorways, and colorful tilework that's been well-preserved over the centuries.
One of the best things about visiting Tangier's Old Town in the winter is that you'll have the opportunity to experience local life without the crowds. You can stop for a nice Moroccan meal in a cozy cafe, browse the colorful souks for unique souvenirs, and even strike up a conversation with friendly locals. And if you're lucky enough to be there during a winter festival, you'll be treated to traditional music, dance, and street performances that showcase the vibrant culture of Tangier.
Of course, no visit to Tangier's Old Town would be complete without a visit to the Kasbah. This historic fortress is perched on a hilltop overlooking the sea, and it offers stunning views of the city and beyond. Inside, you'll find a small museum dedicated to Moroccan history and culture, as well as a peaceful garden where you can relax and take in the surroundings.
Unique stay in Tanger
#2023travelwish
Winter is coming. What are the options to flee the cold days? Northern Morocco is undoubtedly a possibility. For example, the average temperature in Tanger is just below 20 degrees in December and January. Ibis Tanger City Center is an ideal base for discovering the Moroccan city.
Why Ibis Tanger City Center? First of all because of the location. The hotel is located in the center of Tangier within walking distance of the beach and five minutes from the shopping center and the trainstation. From here the high -speed trains depart to Rabat, Casablanca and Marrakech. Ibn Batouta International Airport is 14 kilometers away.
Another asset is the food. Restaurant Wok & Co has an open kitchen and specializes in wok dishes. The restaurant serves international dishes including scampi, shrimp, salmon and chicken. A perfect match with their local wine “La Petite Ferme”, from the vineyards of the Plateau des Zaërs. The friendly staff is happy to give you the necessary advice. Fancy a fresh dive? The Ibis Tanger City Center has an outdoor swimming pool with a terrace and there is also a lounge bar

Beach life! 🇲🇦
Rocher Karyan, Tangier, Morocco
When it comes to Morocco, I feel it's under the radar compared to Casablanca, Rabat, Fez, and Marrakesh. Everyone speaks highly of those cities but not of Tangier.
I stayed for two months and got to know the city very well. My favorite thing is the almost empty beaches. Yes, the town square can get busy with Spanish tourists hopping off the ferry, but take a cheap taxi a few minutes down the road, and you have the beach to yourself.
The picture with me is Merkala Beach. The lady in yellow is Rocher Karyan, and the third person is at Plage Malabata.
Enjoy! #tripblazers #morocco #tangier #travel #photography #beachlife #fallingforfall
Map of Africa
Along the northwestern point of Africa, is the Caves of Hercules which is an archaeological cave complex located in Cape Spartel, 14 kilometers west of Tangier, Morocco.
The cave has two openings, one to the sea and one to the land. The sea opening is known as " The Map of Africa", because there is a crack in the rock that resembles the outline of Africa. The cave itself is part natural and part man-made. The man-made part was used by Berber people to cut stone wheels from the walls. The lighting system, a feature of the latest restoration project, produces pleasant tones and contrasts.
The caves were opened to the public in 1920, and declared as a National Heritage site in 1952.
Serendipity with Tangier
From the moment we stepped out of the 🚄train station and hopped into a sightseeing taxi, our excitement culminated in the old-fashioned sedan.
Driving on the road on the seaside🌅 hillside, the blue and clear sea will always appear in one of the car windows.
At first, it was a straight road with all eyes on the sea. After an unexpected turn, the golden sand⛱️ and sea surface under the sunlight will suddenly appear on the side, causing a burst of joy.

I am watching the sea in Morocco, strolling through the port city of Tangier
Tangier is a port city in northern Morocco, from the port of Tangier by ferry to Gibraltar, across the sea from Spain. Because it is close to Europe, the city's buildings are more European, and the new towns are full of high-rise buildings, cars and cars, a boom. Tangier has the most fascinating coastline and walks along the long coastline, and you seem to never come to an end.
This city has once again subverted my perception of North Africa. It turns out that Africa can be like this. It can be very European.

1Sputter Point Lighthouse - Morocco's End of the Earth
Spatel Point stands a yellow lighthouse, the lighthouse faces a vast The vast ocean. But this lighthouse has a special feature: it is the Atlantic Ocean to the west and the Mediterranean Sea to the east. When the weather is fine, the tower is far away, and you can clearly see the two different shades of seawater at the border between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. It is bounded by a lighthouse, with the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Mediterranean Sea on the other, and the Strait of Gibraltar on the other side. It is the most northwest corner of the African continent. It is also called the African Horn and is the closest place to Europe. Moroccan banknotes with a face value of 200DH, the pattern on the back is here. The
high lighthouse faces the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. At night, the top of the tower is brightly lit, and the vessels must adjust the course accordingly.
2The full version of the map of Africa - Africa Cave
African Cave The magical thing is that the contour of the hole looks like a full version of the African map. I heard that it has been a wave for thousands of years. The impact cave is naturally formed, so it is called the African Cave, and the waves of the waves will make some strange sounds.
This cave has a history of 4,000 years and is naturally formed by waves hitting rocks for thousands of years. Therefore, the Hercules cave is also called the "hole of Africa." Hercules is a Hercules in ancient Greek mythology, so it is also called "Hercules Cave". The left part of the
hole is naturally formed, and the right side is recently manually excavated. There is a place in the cave to take pictures of the tourists.

Our journey to Morocco~
Morocco-Tangier
Tangier is one of my favorite cities on this trip, the folk style is relative to Marrakech Said a little simple. The buildings and streets are very cute! You can take good pictures wherever you go. The city's religious sense is very strong, the degree of development is relatively low, the fast food restaurant Western food is relatively small, the supermarket is also the appearance of domestic country shops, we are here to swallow the three days of biscuits.
Casablanca to Tangier has a four-hour drive
relative to the old city of other cities in Morocco, I think Tangier appears more realistic. The house is exquisite and simple, with a sense of design (like a combination of Portuguese + Mediterranean + religious elements). It can feel the long-term cultural precipitation. Really lived residents really live here, smell the breath of life, and see. The shadow of life.
The people here are very enthusiastic, but it is also very difficult to tell the difference between true and false. Generally, when you ask for directions or ask for help, someone will take you to the destination on your own initiative, because you have checked the tipping country beforehand, so every time After asking for help, I will give some tips and how much is not mandatory.
The whole old town is built on the slopes. The bustling market is under the mountain. Our house is on the mountain. Every day, eating and shopping are panting. After a few days, I found that the calf is strong. These beautiful buildings in the old city can be visited in a day, and there are good little surprises in the corners, although things are not good.

Kasbah Museum, a place to learn more about Tangier.
Kasbah Museum, a place to learn more about Tangier
The Kasbah Museum is located in the old town of Tangier
The museum is located at the highest point of the old town of Tangier and can only be reached on foot
The museum is not very large, as there is not much history
But the museum building is very beautiful
Recommended:
You can find it by walking through the narrow and bustling streets
But it is only open from Tuesday to Sunday, and closed on Monday, so be careful not to go there on Monday
The museum retains the old architectural style, and you will feel like you are traveling back in time as soon as you enter
The museum has several exhibition halls, displaying various old objects from prehistoric to Roman times
Exquisite jewelry, manuscripts, carpets, textiles
Especially since it was once the residence of the Portuguese and British governors
So you can still feel the luxury
The Roman floor mosaics are also very beautiful
I also saw some interesting armor, which made me feel like I was in a movie
Here you can also experience the traditional Moroccan courtyard style
Every beautiful picture you walk through will immerse you in the experience
Travel tips:
Tickets are required, 20 dirhams!
Closed on Monday, open from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00–19:00

In the ancient city of Tangier in northern Morocco
With a history of over 2,000 years
It still retains many historical and cultural relics.

The white coastal lighthouse and colorful traditional houses complement each other
The blue sea and sky are dotted with verdant mountains
Forming a colorful landscape painting
It is also a famous port city, with Spain just across the sea
Secondly, the old city of Tangier, the medina, is simply a maze of narrow alleys.

Dates, silver teapots for mint tea, hand-woven carpets, straw baskets, etc.
Vendors display a variety of goods.
The sound of horns and shouts, though chaotic, is full of life
The old city is now free to enter, and you can wander around and be surprised

Hilton Tanger City Center Hotel
#wheretogo I can't say enough about my recent stay at the Hilton Tanger City Center Hotel – it was absolutely fantastic!
From the moment I walked in for check-in to the bittersweet check-out, everything was smooth sailing. The hotel itself was not only impeccably clean but also impressively designed with attention to the little details that make a big difference.
Let's talk about those amenities, though. The pool? Oh, it was a thing of beauty, and watching the sunset from there was like icing on the cake. And don't even get me started on the fitness center – top-notch.
But you know what truly stole the show? The customer service. These folks were on another level. They weren't just professional; they were genuinely friendly and always ready with a smile. It's like they could read my mind, anticipating my needs before I even knew I had them.
Plus, the hotel's smack dab in the heart of the city, making it super convenient for exploring. And the extra perks and amenities added that touch of luxury that made my stay truly memorable.
In a nutshell, my time at the Hilton Tanger City Center Hotel was a delightful surprise. The room was spacious, well-appointed, and squeaky clean. The outstanding service and central location made it the perfect choice for a great stay. If you're looking for an awesome experience, this hotel is definitely the way to go.#freehotelstay
