Top favorite castles in Slovenia of my choice
#100waysoftravel #falltrip
Slovenia has plenty of castles in every town, here I shared the top favorite ones of my choice.
1. Castle Kamen (Grad Kamen)
Take Radovljica - Tržič bus line from Ljubljana main bus station, then go for main bus station in Begunje with frequent connections to both Radovljica and Bled. is the nearest public bus stop to Castle Kamen. Free entrance. Above picturesque ruins of a castle of the Counts of Lambergh, great place to explore and place of mysteries. (Not crowded)
2. Brežice Castle
Travel on the national railway company, Slovenske Zeleznice (SZ) to reach Brezice town from Ljubljana main train station to Brezice train station, it is a scenic train ride on the Bohinj railway, which connects the Alpine valleys of Bohinj and the Soča River. Entrance fee is required. One of the castle in town Brezice, which is my favorite. The construction remains since 1600s where original castle was probably constructed by Salzburgians in the 12`th century for administrative and defense purposes. The walls and ceilings are beautifully decorated by the centuries which you will feel touched upon viewing it. (Not crowded)
3. Ljubljana castle
Travel to castle via walking or funicular from Ljubljana town. Suggest take funicular up single way and walk down from castle for different joy and experience of the trip. Castle is situated at hilltop, behind ancient walls, is a rich world of historical and cultural and art. Entrance fee is required for castle. Castle top has amazing city view and best for sunrise and sunset experience.

Slovenia's capital Ljubljana, take the cable car to the castle for a panoramic view.
Slovenia's capital: Ljubljana, with a population of about 300,000 people.
The English name 'Slovenia' is the only country name in the world that contains 'love' 🥹❗❗
The most striking feature is the Baroque-style pink Franciscan Church of the Annunciation, which is considered the landmark of this town.
In addition, there are the Three Bridges (Dragon Bridge, Butcher's Bridge, Triple Bridge).
The dragon is the guardian of Ljubljana, so naturally, there is a Dragon Bridge.
The Dragon Bridge is 33 meters long, with dragon statues at each of the four corners.
Side shots can capture the dragon's wings and tail.
On weekends when there is a market, the sides under the Triple Bridge are open for free.
Found the castle, tickets on-site are 16 euros per person,
You can enjoy the beauty of the bell tower, as well as the church and museum.
Finally, take the cable car to move up layer by layer to enjoy the castle view,
and then layer by layer to get a panoramic view of Slovenia.
Not only can you see the place where you took photos at the Franciscan Church of the Annunciation earlier,
but you can also see various red brick houses and canals, and even small boats traveling on the canals❗ It's worth a shot.
Captured a panoramic view of Slovenia
It turns out that this Eastern European town is so beautiful 🥰🥰

You can take a traditional wooden boat called Pletna to Bled Island in the middle of the lake, visit the Church of the Assumption and taste the classic Slovenian dessert Potica cake.
Soca Valley: Including towns such as Bovec, Kobarid, and Tolmin, it combines stunning natural surroundings with rich history and culture.
Velika Planina: The largest shepherd settlement in Europe and one of the famous hiking destinations, with different scenery in each season, and a ski resort in winter.
2. City recommendations:
Ljubljana: The capital of Slovenia, known for its green spaces and artistic atmosphere, with galleries, museums, and a vibrant street art scene.
3. Outdoor activities:
Water activities such as canyoning in the Susan Gorge, kayaking tours, and Soca rafting are suitable for adventurous travelers.
Lake Bled canyoning and white water rafting for thrilling water sports.
4. Accommodation suggestions:
Slovenia offers a variety of accommodation options, from luxury hotels to cozy bed and breakfasts and boutique inns. In rural areas, there are also unique experiences such as luxury camping, farm stays, and charming guesthouses.

Green. Active. Healthy.
An earthly paradise of snow-capped peaks, turquoise-green rivers and Venetian-style coastline, Slovenia enriches its natural treasures with harmonious architecture, charming rustic culture and sophisticated cuisine.
Slovenia is a small but topographically diverse country made up of portions of four major European geographic landscapes—the European Alps, the karstic Dinaric Alps, the Pannonian and Danubian lowlands and hills, and the Mediterranean coast.

Ljubljana
Ljubljana is the capital and political, cultural center of the Republic of Slovenia. Located in the northwest, on the upper reaches of the Sava River, it is surrounded by mountains and often shrouded in thick fog. The city is the seat of the central government of Slovenia, its various departments, the parliament, and the president. Due to advantages in transportation links, industrial concentration, research institutions, and industrial traditions, the city holds the leading economic position in Slovenia.

MILKA HOTEL
#fallishere
Milka hotel is a very beautiful high end hotel with the most amazing view of the mountains and Lake Jasna at it's feet. It is the perfect spot to start your hikes into the mountains, admire the most pristine mountain river you have ever seen and discover the national park. Breakfast is copious and high quality. We chose the smallest room and it had a bathtub with a view of the mountains, truly a an experience to take a bath like that. Their soaps and extra's are very nice en high quality. The beds are to die for, really really good. *Some points of improvement*: the room was dusty when we arrived. As in dust from at least a week behind the bath. We requested an extra clean and that was arranged fast.
What a great place Slovenia was. I really liked it and it was brilliant and so beautiful. The food was truly wonderful and the people were great. It was not very expensive and I liked every moment of my trip. I would hands down fully recommend visiting the country and especially the capital city Ljubljana because it is one of the most pretty places I have ever been to!
preseren square, ljubljana
ljubljana is slovenia’s capital and largest city. it is known for its university population, cultural, economic, political and administrative center. there is a lovely square called the preseren square which is the epicenter of old town and was named after a famous poet, france preseren. the poet’s statue is symbolically faced by the statue of julija primic, his great love. the square also leads to the iconic triple bridge, and there were central open market nearby, restaurants and shops all worth the place to stroll and enjoy the charming old town of ljubljana. #oldtown #bridges
Soca Valley, Slovenia
Awarded by the European Commission as one of the best sustainable tourism destinations, Soca Valley is a perfect nature destination for families, sportspeople, lovers,... Soca valley is what you need if you are looking for large spaces, gorges and waterfalls, lakes and caves, rivers but also traditions, know-how, incredible gastronomy.
The beautiful Soča river, which flows at the foot of the Julian Alps, by the Italian border has carved an exhilarating valley and has some of the most gorgeous waters in Europe.
The region covers 942 km2 and is divided into three municipalities: Bovec, Kobarid and Tolmin. The picturesque nature of the valley makes it a paradise for water sports on the river Soča (rafting, kayaking, canoeing, hydro-speed, canyoning, etc.), para-gliders, fly-fishers, rock climbers, hikers and mountain bikers.
Slovenia is really the country to put at the top of your travel wishlist if sustainable tourism, nature, is important to you. During your stay do not miss to visit Bohinj, another sustainable tourism destination labeled "EDEN" by the European Commission.

The natural scenery of Ljubljana is very charming. The green pastures are intertwined with winding country roads, and the steeple of the church in the quiet village is reminiscent of picturesque Austria. The dark green forest surrounds the towering gray-white peaks, and it is really a pleasure to stroll in such an environment in the morning.
Slovenia is a highly developed capitalist country with the English name Slovenija and the name love in the country name, from which you can feel the full love of the country. The country of this small southern European country is indeed the happiest person in the world. It is not only full of picturesque natural scenery, but also the living standards of the residents far above the southern countries of the Balkans.
Slovenia is northwest of Italy and southeast is Croatia. It is not surprising that it is sandwiched between two powerful neighbors, but the problem is that the coastline of the two neighboring countries is surprisingly long, leaving only one branch for Slovenia. Port of Pell. In fact, the border between Italy and Croatia did not meet at Koper, otherwise Slovenia became a landlocked country. The existence of Koper not only gives Slovenia the opportunity to open to the sea, but also gives this mini-country a chance to survive.
