Laolongtou or Old Dragon Head is the end of the Great Wall. Meeting the sea it was rebuilt in 1987 and it had been destroyed during the war. I stayed in Qinhuangdao and drove about 40 mins here. worth the drive and was a great day trip. #summervacation#beachvacation

Autumn leaves in Shanhaiguan ancient city

Arrived there on November 4, I guess the leaves were at its peak a week earlier. There's no admission fee in the city, you can walk around freely, just that most of shops were closed when I was there. Shanhaiguan is around 1:30 hr train ride from Tianjin / 2:30 hr from Beijing. And from Shanhaiguan railway station, you can walk to the scenic area.

Where the Wall meets the sea.

Travelling from Dandong we got the train directly to Shanhaiguan. To then get to the Wall is a short taxi down to the Water. We arrived just before sunset so was able to get some really nice pictures and plus in was empty with no people there! There was pretty much no food options we we traveled here, probably due to it being winter and late in the evening. The cost was around 50CNY but is definitely worth seeing. Then it is only 2.5hrs train to Beijing. The beach there is also beautiful and bet would be very nice in the summer.
