The Mahavira Hall is solemn and majestic, with flying eaves and brackets. The Buddha statues inside are compassionate and peaceful, inspiring awe. Here, you can light an incense stick, close your eyes, listen to the lingering Buddhist chants, and feel the peace and tranquility within.

To pray for blessings and enjoy the autumn, come to Zhan Shan Temple in Qingdao, and while you're at it, get a string of glazed beads
Qingdao has entered autumn. If you want to pray for blessings while enjoying the autumn scenery, then Zhan Shan Temple is a good choice.
Zhan Shan Temple requires an admission ticket, and you need to book your entry time online in advance. Upon entering the temple, you will be given free incense, and you can also purchase other incense and candles inside.
🏠 Qingdao Zhan Shan Temple
📍 Address: No. 2, South District, Qingdao City
🎫 Ticket: 10 yuan, free for children under 1.2 meters
🈺️ Time: 9:00-16:00
🚇 Travel: Take the subway line 2 to Zhi Quan Road Station, then walk a short distance to reach the temple.
The Grand Hall, Guanyin Hall, Mahavira Hall, Three Saints Hall, Reclining Buddha Hall... The entire Zhan Shan Temple is quite large, and the incense offerings are very prosperous.
The temple has planted many ginkgo trees, and this season they are already laden with fruit. If you like eating ginkgo nuts, you can also pick up a bag under the tree to take home and stir-fry with salt for a delicious treat.
The osmanthus and hydrangea flowers in the temple are also blooming competitively, especially the golden osmanthus flowers, which have already filled the branches, and you can smell the fragrance from a distance.
✅ Must-dos at Zhan Shan Temple:
1. Go to the Drum Tower and ring the Zhan Shan morning bell. Just ring it three times.
2. Go to the Dharma Items Distribution Center and ask for a bracelet. There are quite a few types of bracelets, generally within a hundred yuan. I got a spiritual ash glazed bead bracelet for 88 yuan, symbolizing wealth and auspiciousness.
3. Go to the Vegetarian Fragrance Hall to eat vegetarian noodles and steamed buns. They are only available at noon, and the buns are limited in quantity.

Rush, the vegetarian food at Qingdao Zhan Shan Temple is super delicious
I got up early today and went straight to Zhan Shan Temple with my childhood friend.
The entrance fee is 10 yuan, and after entering, you can get three incense sticks for free.
We arrived at 10:30, so we decided to head straight for the vegetarian food.
We started with the vegetarian noodles, which were so delicious they could make your eyebrows fall off. I heard that the soup had been simmering since the day before, and you can get a noodle refill for free, but not the soup!!!
After eating, I went to queue for the vegetarian buns. It took about fifteen minutes, and we bought one serving each, two buns and one with red bean paste. The vegetarian buns were incredibly tasty, they looked plain but were a pleasant surprise once you took a bite!!!
Friends nearby, rush over! I guarantee you won't regret it!

Zhan Shan Temple
Zhan Shan Temple, also known as Zhan Shan Lecture Temple, is located at No. 12 Zhi Quan Road, on the southern foothills of Mount Tai Ping in Qingdao, China, and is the only Buddhist temple in the city area. It is the youngest venue of the Tiantai sect of Buddhism in China.
Zhan Shan Temple complex is arranged in the classical Chinese temple axial layout, facing south with the back to the north, overlooking the Yellow Sea. The temple architecture consists of five courtyards, with additional east and west wing courtyards and ancillary rooms.
Little tips: At the entrance, there is a life-release pond where you can feed fish. The magnolia flowers at the entrance are in full bloom. There is incense available for free in front of every hall (some are placed on stone fences), and at the Dharma distribution center, you can get various prayer beads (with different prices, the white bodhi beads I bought were ¥15) and sachets (¥20 each), as well as packaging bags (¥8 RMB).

Qingdao | Zhanshan Temple | Chasing the footsteps of spring
🦲 The magnolia tree at the entrance is not particularly beautiful, nor is it easy to photograph, and it's crowded, so there's no need to make a special trip just for it.
🦲 Next to the guest hall in the temple, there is a white magnolia tree, which has a cool feeling and produces good photos.
🦲 There is a pink magnolia tree in the temple, which is pretty but difficult to photograph, and the success rate for good photos is not high.
🦲 There are two trees at the exit, which are very easy to photograph, with hardly any bad shots, and the crowd is manageable.
🦲 You can go directly to the exit to photograph those two trees without buying a ticket, as there isn't much else worth photographing in the temple actually.
🦲 Next to the temple, there is a botanical garden with a red wall!!! It's redder than Daxue Road, doesn't require a reflector, has good lighting, fewer people, and a high success rate for good photos, highly recommended.
🦲 Don't wear clothes that are too bright, as they don't look good in photos.

Zhanshan Temple... The central temple of Qingdao...
Located at the eastern end of Taiping Mountain Park in the mountainous area northeast of Zhongshan Park in Qingdao, it is next to the starting point of the cable car that goes up towards the TV tower.
It was established in 1934, and it is the most recently built among the Tiantai sect temples in China.
Inside the temple, there are Buddha statues with various rich expressions, and it is said that about 20 monks reside there.
The temple is very quiet and spacious, and many people come here to worship Bodhisattvas, making it the oldest and largest temple in Qingdao worth visiting and paying homage to.
