Hong Kong Citywalk's foodie tour guide
🚌I set off from Guangzhou, went to Hong Kong for a two-day and one-night trip
The first day I visited Tsim Sha Tsui, Mong Kok, and Yau Ma Tei for food, shopping, and sightseeing~ For your reference!
🅾️Highlight: Experience the bustle of Hong Kong's streets, experience the Filipinos under the overpass
Watch the skyscrapers at Victoria Harbour, and check in with celebrity handprints
🐮Currency exchange:
It is recommended to download the 'Tourist Octopus' app for top-up, which is very convenient for taking transportation and dining
It is also recommended to exchange 300 Hong Kong dollars, as some old shops only accept cash
There is a First exchange store right out of the West Kowloon high-speed rail station, which exchanges at a 1:1 rate
☀️Weather:
Hong Kong has a marine subtropical monsoon climate
The temperature is high, and the sun is strong
But while there is sunshine, it may also rain
Remember to bring an umbrella, and it is also recommended to wear a hat for sun protection
✅Check-in spot 1: Victoria Harbour, Avenue of Stars
☁️Route:
【West Kowloon】---【Tsim Sha Tsui】, 14 minutes
From 【West Kowloon】 Exit A, walk for 10 minutes to 【Jordan】 MTR station
Then take the subway to 【Tsim Sha Tsui】 Exit E, and you can see Victoria Harbour,
The Avenue of Stars has many celebrities' handprints~
🌝Food; Nearby is K11 MUSEUM, with many high-end dining options to try~
Recommended the Hong Kong limited edition at Starbucks: Japanese Roasted Tea Latte (with oat milk)
The taste is not sweet, with a rich roasted tea flavor, five stars recommended!
About the roads: A kind reminder, there are touchable machines by the roadsides in Hong Kong
Touching them can shorten the waiting time to cross the street~
✅Check-in spot 2: Yau Ma Tei Police Station
🌼Route:
【Tsim Sha Tsui】--【Yau Ma Tei】, 6 minutes
Take the Tsuen Wan Line to 【Yau Ma Tei】 Exit C, and walk to reach 【Yau Ma Tei Police Station】
It was under maintenance when I visited, a popular photo spot often seen in Hong Kong movies!
Nearby is the Woosung Street fruit wholesale market, where you can shop
😀Food: Found a tea restaurant on the street, had a regular meal
It was just average, not recommended...
✅Check-in spot 3: Mong Kok's Tung Choi Street (Ladies' Market)
🌙Route:
【Yau Ma Tei】--【Mong Kok】, 4 minutes
From 【Mong Kok】 Exit D2, you can reach
It was Sunday when I went, many Filipino sisters were camping and gathering on the overpass
It's also a unique feature of Hong Kong~ They were eating hand-pulled rice, sweet and sour pickles, etc.~
Passing the overpass, you can see the street stalls on both sides
I bought an egg waffle for 10HKD, cash only~
The taste felt similar to the ones in Mainland China~
Then I took the bus to AsiaWorld-Expo!
Hong Kong buses have screens
You need to press the button to notify the driver to stop when approaching your station
The roads are not congested, and it's very convenient!
🌸Overall, Hong Kong is very suitable for citywalks,
Despite the imposing skyscrapers
Quietly stepping into the alleys, you can feel the unique atmosphere
Aimless eating and drinking fits right in here!

A High-Value Hot Pot Restaurant in Yau Ma Tei
I discovered this Sichuan hot pot restaurant in Yau Ma Tei that offers great value for money, and it's decorated with a strong Chinese flair. They even provide various traditional costumes for customers to take photos with, perfect for getting likes on social media.
Their lunchtime semi-buffet hot pot set meal is an incredible deal, with the most affordable option costing only $78 (tea and condiment fees are extra). The selection includes a variety of vegetables, meatballs, chicken, pork, duck blood, beef omasum, squid, and other hot pot ingredients in a self-service style. Some of these ingredients, like kelp buds, green bamboo shoots, quail eggs, and wide noodles, are not commonly seen. For dessert, there's an all-you-can-eat selection of Haagen Dazs ice cream flavors, allowing you to indulge for a full two hours, making it an exceptionally economical choice for a satisfying lunch.
Yin Yang Hot Pot Base
If you want to try their signature spicy beef tallow hot pot (+$28) but are afraid it might be too spicy, you can opt for the Yin Yang hot pot, which combines it with a mild soup base. The spicy pot is made with a whole block of beef tallow and a generous amount of chili, Sichuan peppercorns, and other ingredients, offering a rich blend of spicy and numbing flavors.
D) Hand-sliced American Beef Neck and Rib + Hand-sliced American Short Ribs $168@
We chose the set meal that includes two types of beef, with one plate each of hand-sliced American beef neck and short ribs per person. Although the portions are fixed, they are not small at all. The beef is fresh, with a perfect balance of fat and lean, and looks very appealing. It tastes rich and tender. We also ordered an extra plate of beef tongue, which was very refreshing to eat.

Weekend 2-day tour in Hong Kong | Citywalk under the black storm
I would like to advise you all to check the weather before you travel! I unexpectedly encountered a rare black rain in Hong Kong. Adhering to the principle of 'since I'm here, I might as well make the most of it', I opened my umbrella and started my citywalk. Due to the black rain, work and school were suspended, shops were closed, garbage was everywhere, and the subway was flooded. However, I have to say that Hong Kong is really photogenic. Despite all this, I still managed to capture the strong Hong Kong style.

👣Route:
Day1: Mong Kok (Goldfish Street, Bird Street, Garden Street) - Eighteen Dog Powder, Dan Wang, Mommy Egg Waffles, Fat Sister Snacks - Yau Ma Tei - Jia Jia Dessert, Dim Sum to - Yau Ma Tei Police Station, Temple Street - Tsim Sha Tsui - Sister Wah, Bakehouse - Harbour City - Victoria Harbour Night View
Day2: Tsim Sha Tsui - Clock Tower, Victoria Harbour, Eslite Bookstore on the 2nd floor of Harbour City - Hong Kong Tourism Board on the first floor of Star Ferry (buy fridge magnets, receive Hong Kong gifts) - Take the Star Ferry to Central - Regal Ice Cream Truck, Ferris Wheel - Central Market - Mid-levels Escalator - Bake House, Kau Kee Beef Brisket - Graffiti Wall - Tai Kwun - Lan Fong Yuen, Zhan Zai Ji - Art Centre - Causeway Bay - Wing Kee Noodles - Monster Building
-
✔️Mong Kok: The streets and pedestrian bridges here are very suitable for Hong Kong style street photography, the strong local flavor is like stepping into a Wong Kar-wai film, but be reminded that many shops on Goldfish Street do not allow photography, so avoid them.
✔️Yau Ma Tei: Walking along Nathan Road from Mong Kok, you will reach Yau Ma Tei. The bus stops along the way are very photogenic. As a fan of TVB, I definitely won't miss the chance to check in at Yau Ma Tei Police Station. I also stumbled upon Temple Street not far from the police station, where I took a tourist photo that I really like in the middle of the street market.
✔️Victoria Harbour: How can you miss the night view of Victoria Harbour when you come to Hong Kong? The Avenue of Stars is really the best place to see the night view. Walking along, passing the Star Ferry Pier, you will arrive at Harbour City, where you can end the day's itinerary with some shopping.
✔️Tsim Sha Tsui: The viewing platform near the Clock Tower, the steps at the entrance of Harbour City, and the Eslite Bookstore on the 2nd floor of Harbour City are all excellent spots for shooting Victoria Harbour. By the way, don't forget to take a photo at the successful person's photo spot in Victoria Harbour.
✔️Star Ferry: The pier is very photogenic, the dark green waiting area is super retro, and it only takes a few minutes to get from Tsim Sha Tsui to Central, super convenient.
✔️Central: There are many attractions worth checking in along the way, and there are arcades or pedestrian bridges all the way, so even if it rains heavily, it won't affect the citywalk. Ferris Wheel - Central Market - Mid-levels Escalator - Tai Kwun - Art Centre, you can walk along this route.
✔️Monster Building: The dense buildings combined with the retro tram, every shot is a big shot, unfortunately it rained too heavily that day, and I didn't make it.

Nightwalk @ Banyan Tree Head
Yau Ma Tei Recreational Park or is commonly known as the Banyan Tree Head is a very much lively spot at night. It is located next to Temple street so you know its a busy place. Full of tourists walking around the area, sellers and vendors that sells a variety of everything. The old Tin Hau Temple still sits in the middle of the park and serves as the focal atrraction for passerby's and tourists.
Also, photo.enthusiast will like this area because its a very good backdrop for selfies and indeed very instagrammable.
Well-lighted park, and safe to walk around.

Great yoga class 🧘♀️
The upper back & shoulder class was a mixture of strengthening and stretching poses that helped relieve our stress from sitting in an office all day. Really loved how the teacher helped adjust our postures according to each of our bodies and gently massaged our backs in child pose. The gong bath during savasana was so relaxing that I heard some snores

Homey upstairs cafe with board games
One of the many upstairs cafes in Dundas Square, homemadecafe stands out by making you feel just at home with a variety of delectable food and board games. We came for late lunch on the weekend and wrote down our order on the whiteboard. All the food and drinks were served quite quickly.
[Creamy Chicken Fettuccine]
We were a bit amused that the actual dish looked better than the reference picture on the menu. The cream sauce was rich but not overly thick and well complemented the boneless chicken strips, mushrooms and bell peppers.
[Caesar Salad]
Overall, this was near-perfect (prob 9.9/10) with tons of bacon pieces, crunchy croutons and cheese powder. Would have gotten full marks from me if only the lettuce was not overdressed in thick sauce, but I guess that’s better than having no taste at all.
[Fried Crab Balls]
We added this Vietnamese-style snack for an extra $25. Even without dipping the sweet and tangy sauce on the side, each piece was mildly flavorful while we really enjoyed the crisp and chewy texture.
[Drinks]
We had a lot of fun pouring the milk tea into the glass and watching the ice ball melt. Taste-wise, it had a nice smooth blend without the typical bitterness that I dread in local-style milk teas.
A super healthy drink not easily found in most restaurants, the kiwi smoothie was refreshing and not sour at all.

Coucou Hot Pot (Yau Ma Tei)
If you’re craving both hot pot AND bubble tea, @coucouhotpothk is definitely the place for you!
We didn’t quite get the ‘Taiwanese scooter theme’ in their new Gala Place branch, nor did we appreciate the blasting AC that left our fingers freezing cold 🥶 DESPITE the bubbling pot in the middle, but the spacious booths gave us a decent amount of privacy without compromising the service efficiency.
The set menu for 4 saved us the trouble of having to make too many decisions, yet the portion was a little too much that we were pretty stuffed afterwards 🤰
[𝐃𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐡]
Out of the 7 options, we chose the fish maw and chicken soup base for a nourishing collagen boost as well as the signature spicy Taiwanese style soup base for an unlimited refill of duck blood jelly and tofu 🍲
[𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐭]
The quality USDA choice beef short ribs and chuck roll come with the set, and you get to decide on an additional dish of either pork, chicken or oyster blades. We opted for the Iberico black pork slices, which were unexpectedly tender and juicy. The chuck rolls were a bit too tough for my liking but still beautifully marbled 🥩
[𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥]
The set also includes 3 kinds of meatballs - 🐧 penguin-shaped cuttlefish balls that were equally instaworthy and delicious, mashed cuttlefish with flying roe and innovative lychee-shaped shrimp balls that had a crunchy exterior
[𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝]
To justify the premium price tag, there were 4 sliced abalones and a whole Boston lobster thoughtfully sliced in half. Didn’t try the abalones but the lobster was really fresh with a sweet distinctive taste 🦞
[𝐕𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬]
There was a wide range of veggies including corn, lotus roots, carrots, mushrooms, sweet potato, lettuce and Chinese spinach. A little disappointed that there were only two pieces for some items though 😖
[𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬]
Just to ensure that you’re full and not complaining, you’ll get 2 staples out of a pool of 3 options. We chose the beancurd skin and glass noodles, but we were too bloated to finish everything 🙈
[𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐬]
We were a little surprised that there was not just one, but two complimentary desserts that were handed out a bit randomly when we were still mid-way through. No complaints though as the yogurt slushie and plum tea jelly were refreshing and helped cool down the heat 🔥

A One-Man Operated Small Cafe
I discovered this hidden gem of a cafe run by a single owner on a friend's Instagram and was immediately intrigued. Given its small size, it's best suited for solo exploration.
I visited on a Sunday and saw one customer waiting for a takeaway coffee. Shortly after, I had the place to myself—perfect timing!
The small space is highlighted by banners on the walls, likely reminding us to stay calm and collected. I quite liked it.
In such a place, the prices can't be too steep. Lunch starts at 50 HKD, and I opted for the pricier seared smoked duck udon, which came with a basic coffee, totaling 58 HKD.
After placing my order, I continued to browse my phone. The open kitchen gradually filled the air with enticing aromas. It turned out the owner was searing the duck breast with a blowtorch—quite thoughtful.
About ten minutes later, the owner brought over the udon. The bowl of Inaniwa udon included wood ear mushrooms, seaweed, and corn kernels, capturing the essence of Japanese cuisine. The udon had a slightly chewy texture, and the duck breast was flavorful. The thin tamagoyaki was a pleasant surprise—sweet and delicious. While not top-tier, the quality was commendable for the price.
I upgraded to a latte for an additional charge, which even had latte art. The taste was on par with city cafes.
Though running the place alone seems tough, the owner appeared relaxed, listening to music while making coffee.
If I'm in the area again, I might stop by for another coffee and try their cakes.

Yau Ma Tei Love Heart Social Enterprise: Worth Supporting.
I stumbled upon this pioneering FUSION keto meal & local tea restaurant 😎
This tea restaurant is near Yau Ma Tei Station
The decor is mainly sky blue with bright lighting, making it more vibrant and comfortable than typical tea restaurants.
There are not many seats, only about 20.
Upon arriving, I discovered that it is also a social enterprise 😍
Every month, they distribute free love meal boxes/love meal rolls to people in need in the area.
They also donate a portion of their revenue to charity funds to expand the meal distribution scale.
Very compassionate and worth supporting 😇
In terms of food, they offer a variety of self-created keto tea meals.
They have all the regular tea restaurant meals & afternoon tea sets.
This time, I ordered the newly launched Keto Satay Beef Protein Noodle Set, French Toast with Big Chicken Leg, and Keto Milk Tea 😀
💥Keto Satay Beef Protein Noodle Set
First time trying protein noodles, they are tastier and more chewy than the typical noodles used in tea restaurants, without much oiliness.
I wonder if they are available in the market.
The satay beef is tender, and the sauce is quite thick and flavorful 😀
The ham omelet that comes with the set is standard, with a good amount of smooth egg and ham 😌
💥Keto French Toast with Deep-fried Big Chicken Leg
French toast has always been a favorite in Hong Kong-style tea restaurants.
Keto French toast is just as crispy and delicious as usual.
The syrup used is keto syrup.
The giant chicken leg is freshly fried, very fragrant and quite indulgent.
The crispy skin and tender meat are still very good ☺️
💥Keto Pork Chop Bun
The pork chop is fried to a crispy perfection, with firm and non-dry meat.
Combined with fresh tomatoes & lettuce, it is not greasy at all ☺️
💥Keto Milk Tea
The milk tea that comes with the set is flavorful and smooth 😋

Hong Kong Citywalk
Did you know, walking in Hong Kong is like stepping into a living movie. The colorful double-decker buses, like the arteries of the city, take you through every corner of this metropolis. The signs mixing Chinese and English on the streets, along with the various styles of architecture, are truly a visual feast.
And the billboards here are super vibrant in color, plus the people from all around the world, and the various scents of delicious food, it's really exciting.
When you're at Citywalk, every step is a new discovery. It could be a bustling street, a quiet alley, or a flight of stone steps connected to an overpass. Each step makes you understand the city of Hong Kong even more.
Whether it's the authentic life in Yau Ma Tei or the bustling scenes in Tsim Sha Tsui, Citywalk gives you the most genuine experience. This way of traveling, stopping and going, makes one feel as if they have returned to the old times of Hong Kong. Here, everyone can find their own pace, their own story.
So you see, Citywalk is not just about traveling, it's more like a way of life. In the hustle and bustle of life, it allows you to find that bit of tranquility and relaxation.

A two-day and one-night trip to Hong Kong
Hong Kong, I want to visit again.
Preparations include a Hong Kong and Macau pass, Hong Kong dollars, hotel reservations, and flight tickets.
Direct flights and hotels in Hong Kong can be very expensive, so everyone can consider going to Shenzhen first and then crossing the border into Hong Kong from there.
In the subway stations from Shenzhen to Hong Kong, you can buy a Hong Kong transportation card.
After arriving in Hong Kong, you can first go to Wah Sing Ice Room for lunch; the Hong Kong-style milk tea is very delicious.
Then you can visit Yau Ma Tei, Victoria (Avenue of Stars), The Peak (mainly for the night view), the Clock Tower, and the Monster Building (a test of photography skills).
Note: Breakfast shops in Hong Kong generally don't open until 11 am, so friends who want to eat cart noodles can go in the afternoon (since the flight is in the afternoon, I didn't get to eat).
Small shops in Hong Kong usually do not accept WeChat payments, only cash💰

After crossing the border, take the metro from Lok Ma Chau to Mong Kok East at 11:40. When you exit the metro, there's a platform where you can see the scenes from pictures 2/3/4
Walk from Mong Kok East to Mong Kok Station, wandering around Mong Kok area~
Check in at the famous Nathan Road, Sneaker Street, Fei Jie snack shop... Stroll, snap, and eat along the way
Around 14:00 finish exploring Mong Kok and head to Monster Building.
Mong Kok Station to Taikoo Station, meanwhile, start checking in at metro stations
Passing through Yau Ma Tei, Jordan, Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway Bay, Tin Hau Station, etc., each station has a different color, get off to take photos 📷 and then catch the next train
Around 15:00 arrive at the Monster Building, pictures 11/12/13, the dense residential buildings and the skyscrapers behind form a strong contrast, this is also what I think is the most characteristic point of Hong Kong~
Around 16:00 take the tram to Kennedy Town, sitting in the first row on the second floor offers the best view~ The tram is very slow, I fell asleep during the shaky ride
Wait until around 18:30 to start enjoying the seaside sunset at Kennedy Town
Take the metro from Kennedy Town back to Tsim Sha Tsui around 20:00 , after eating at Wong Chi Kee Cafe, go to the Avenue of Stars to see the beautiful night view 🌃
At 21:30 take the metro from Tsim Sha Tsui to Tin Shui Wai at 22:30
Exit at Tin Shui Wai metro station Exit B and take the B2P bus (last bus at 22:45) to Shenzhen Bay Port (around 23:05)

Popular Lobster Soup Rice and Abalone Chicken Wing Pot with Fish Maw
This place is always lined up with people craving for the popular lobster soup rice and abalone chicken wing pot with fish maw, offering great value for money and generous portions!
I first tried the 'Grandpa's Trio', which included mushrooms, chicken wings, and fish tofu. The mushrooms were stewed to perfection, with a soft and tender texture, while the chicken wings were crispy and delicious 😋 The fish tofu added a nice crunch.
Then came the most anticipated dish: the supreme lobster soup rice. The lobster broth was rich and sweet, infusing the rice with the flavor of lobster. It contained scallops, mussels, clams, and other ingredients, making it incredibly savory.
Another highlight was the abalone chicken wing pot with fish maw, a luxurious dish indeed. The abalone was tender, the fish maw was smooth, and the chicken wings were juicy and flavorful. The chicken broth was rich and delicious 😋
I ordered two special drinks, a passion fruit osmanthus oolong and a pomegranate soda. The passion fruit osmanthus oolong had a subtle sweet fragrance. The pomegranate soda was a refreshing drink, with a sweet and sour pomegranate flavor that was very appetizing.

Alipay to Hong Kong free travel! The whole journey is 0 Hong Kong dollars, and I happened to meet Ah Sir
Hello, I recently went to Hong Kong for a free trip. This trip unexpectedly had no worries about cash problems. The whole journey was paid with Alipay and WeChat, because I was too lazy to exchange Hong Kong dollars, hehe😁
On the first day. I went to a very famous ice room in Wan Chai called "Cross Ice Room". After eating, I directly used Alipay to scan the code to check out, which was very convenient. In the afternoon, I went to Yau Ma Tei to hang out and found a building that looked very Hong Kong drama. It turned out that it was the police station that often appeared in Hong Kong dramas. I took a few photos there as a souvenir.🦋
There is also a small episode that is very interesting, that is, I met a few Hong Kong people who looked very friendly when I was shopping. We chatted happily for a few words, and later learned that they were "Ah Sir"~🪿🪿
On the second day, I went to the Star Ferry Pier, the scenery was beautiful and very romantic. The most amazing thing is that I found that Hong Kong's subway can also directly use Alipay or WeChat to buy tickets, and you can enter and exit the station by scanning the code, which is too convenient!🦄🦄
Overall, I didn't use cash from start to finish on this trip to Hong Kong. I paid for everything through mobile payment, and the experience was very new. I hope you can also have a relaxed and happy trip to Hong Kong🐠
