[2024 Washington D.C. Stay] Travel Guide for Washington Hilton (Updated Dec)
The perfect place for a city walk!
Just a few minutes' walk to the White House and Washington Monument; Capitol Hill Hilton is within walking distance of the Capitol Building and Union Station, and Chinatown is also within walking distance.
Both Hiltons are pet-friendly hotels and have cleaning fees, but members can waive the cleaning fee. Capitol Hill Hilton is a few minutes' walk to the Capitol Building and Union Station, and is more modern and newer. The surrounding area is quiet and beautiful, with large lawns, which are especially suitable for walking dogs. The restaurant is also good, and parking is convenient. The Capital Hilton is more old-fashioned, and the lobby feels very 19th century, with an old-money vibe. I think the service is particularly good, but it may be because the staff I met were particularly good. It's only a few minutes' walk to the White House. In fact, the White House/Washington Monument and the Capitol Building are far apart, one to the south and one to the north, with large lawns, trails, and lakes in between, which are especially suitable for walking dogs, walking, playing soccer, running, and even holding concerts. The overall feeling is very chill. On the lawn between the White House and the Capitol Building, dogs can also be let off the leash to play and run.
Georgetown is only a half-hour walk from the White House, so if the weather is nice, you can take a city walk. The Georgetown University campus is small but beautiful, and there are all kinds of snacks, coffee, and small shops around, which are still quite good for shopping.
Washington is a clean, beautiful, and tidy city, and these areas are also very safe, making it very suitable for city walks and dog walking. You can bring your dog to play for 3–5 days.
