Vienna city stroll 🗺️
#citystroll
Vienna is a city that truly exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I arrived, I was struck by its elegant mix of imperial history and modern sophistication. I spent a lot of time wandering the streets, and every corner seemed to have a palace, museum, or café that was worth exploring. The first stop had to be Schönbrunn Palace, an absolute must-see! The entrance fee was around €24, and the grandeur of the rooms and the beauty of the gardens made it worth every penny. 🌸
Next, I visited the Kunsthistorisches Museum (about €18 for entry), which houses an incredible art collection. If you’re an art lover, this place is heaven. Don’t miss St. Stephen’s Cathedral either—its Gothic architecture is breathtaking, and climbing to the top gives you a stunning view of the city. 🏰
Vienna is also famous for its coffee culture, so I couldn’t resist trying a slice of Sachertorte at Café Sacher—it was delicious! For music lovers, Vienna’s classical scene is unmatched, with concerts happening every night. I even caught a performance at the Vienna State Opera. 🎶
Between the art, history, and the delicious food, Vienna has left me with some incredible memories. I can’t wait to go back!

Vienna Two-Day Tour
We rented a car from Budapest to Vienna, transitioning from a developing country to a developed one. Hungary feels a bit like our 1990s, while Vienna's living standards and infrastructure are comparable to Paris.
Notes: Many shops and restaurants are closed on Sundays, including the State Opera House and the Golden Hall, so plan your time accordingly.
Food: Near the Opera House, there is a highly-rated Chinese restaurant called Juli Chinese Kitchen, just a three-minute walk away. There's also a stir-fry buffet called Wok & More, which has good reviews. Vienna offers a variety of international cuisines, and even the small Italian cafes you find on the street have their own unique charm.
Clothing: Vienna is situated between Prague and Budapest, so the weather is slightly warmer than in Prague.
Upon arriving in Vienna, we rushed to the State Opera House to watch the opera Tosca. While formal attire is not required, many people dress very formally.
Must-see attractions in Vienna: The National Library, Albertina Museum, Sisi Museum, St. Stephen's Cathedral, Stadtpark, Vienna Museum, Golden Hall, and the State Opera House are all close to each other and can be visited on foot. Schönbrunn Palace is in the suburbs and can be reached by subway or taxi. Only a small portion of its over 1,600 rooms are open to the public. The gardens are great for a stroll, and there's a maze that kids will enjoy; we spent at least an hour in a few of the mazes.
We rented a car to Hallstatt, which is a three-hour drive from Vienna. Known as a postcard dropped by God, it is one of the most beautiful towns. The scenery along the way is pleasant, with snow-capped mountains, meadows, and cottages, offering a tranquil and secluded atmosphere like a paradise. The town is nestled between mountains and water and was once a silver mining area. It became famous after being featured on the cover of a travel magazine. Any photo taken from any angle can be used as a postcard. Mozart's hometown, Salzburg, is an hour and a half drive from Hallstatt and has a history of over a thousand years. Major attractions include Mirabell Palace, Mozart's Birthplace, Salzburg Square, and Hohensalzburg Fortress.

Incredible opera house in Vienna
Vienna has a nickname "The City of Music" for being home to some of classical music’s best composers.
The Vienna State Opera, or Wiener Staatsoper, is one of the best opera companies in the world. The 1,709-seat Renaissance Revival venue was the first major building on the Vienna Ring Road. It was built from 1861 to 1869 following plans by August Sicard von Sicardsburg and Eduard van der Nüll, and designs by Josef Hlávka.
Holding the title for the world’s most opera productions per year, the Vienna Opera has about 70 different productions each year. And they are known for outstanding performances, thanks to the house’s incredible acoustics.
There are around 1,709 seats in the Vienna Opera House with standing room for 567 additional people, with a total capacity of 2,284.

Vienna Opera House in Nov 2021
beautiful building in a beautiful city!
Sukmin Nam
The Vienna State Opera, a Renaissance-style building, is a city of music and there are many opera houses in Vienna. The entire building was destroyed by fire in 1945 and later rebuilt, and has been the venue for the Vienna Opera Ball. At the door, there is also a waiter wearing a court costume holding a concert performance table and sipping a foreigner to pass the show. The opera house is very beautiful and luxurious, but it is a pity that I can't go inside. There are only staff members who can go in and can only check at the entrance.
YIYI NOTES.
Beautiful Vienna , Austria 🇦🇹🇦🇹
Vienna, Austria, is a city of extraordinary beauty, where imperial grandeur meets artistic sophistication. Known for its rich cultural heritage, Vienna exudes an old-world charm with its grand palaces, elegant squares, and stunning architecture. I just wrapped up a week in Vienna, and I’m still in awe of the city’s incredible architecture! 🏛️ From the majestic palaces to the stunning baroque churches, every corner reveals something beautiful. The highlight for me was the Schönbrunn Palace, where the entrance fee was around €20 for a guided tour. The gardens are free and perfect for a leisurely stroll, offering breathtaking views of the palace.
Exploring the city center, I marveled at St. Stephen’s Cathedral with its intricate roof and soaring spires—definitely a must-see! The mix of Gothic, Baroque, and modern architecture creates such a vibrant atmosphere. I also loved walking along the Ringstrasse, where you can see the Vienna State Opera and the Natural History Museum. Each building tells a story, making Vienna a living museum of architectural beauty. I can’t wait to return!

The name is a business card/Vienna/choice for Europe.
Even if you have never been to Vienna, the capital of Austria🇦🇹, you are not unfamiliar with the name of this city. 👣No matter where you go in that city, the heavy history/classic architecture/world music capital~~~, 👁️each label can't stop her charm. Walking in front of the Golden Hall, I seem to hear the beautiful melody of the New Year's concert, and I also walked into the Vienna National Opera House, the drifting aria and the emotional singing of street artists filled the atmosphere of the music capital🎶.
🫵Many relics of the Habsburg dynasty, which ruled the widest area in European history, have been preserved. 💢The luxurious and grand royal church, the European mother-in-law's graceful sculpture on the square of the Natural History Museum and the Science and Technology Museum, the Winter Palace Hofburg and the Summer Palace Schönbrunn. 🏛️The top of the Gothic-style city hall is 113.8 meters high, and the creative concept of the Hundertwasserhaus~~~
🧑🌾I learned about the story of Princess Sissi through a movie many years ago and it was confirmed in Schönbrunn. I also bought a statue in the visitor center and brought it back. The time is a bit tight and there is no suitable performance to listen to a concert in the Golden Hall, so I can only leave a thought🎻.

The mystery man on the horse - unveiled!
#travellerswonderland Seeing the man on a horse atop the Vienna State Opera was a striking experience. This statue, perched high on the roof, depicts the composer Johann Strauss II, famously known as the "Waltz King." The statue's grandeur and its prominent location symbolize the opera's dedication to celebrating Vienna's rich musical heritage. Strauss is celebrated for his waltzes, which capture the essence of Vienna’s cultural elegance, and having his likeness atop the building reinforces the opera house's connection to this musical tradition. When I looked up at the statue, I felt a deeper appreciation for the city's musical history and the opera's role in preserving it. The statue stands as a testament to Vienna's love for classical music and its enduring legacy, making it an unforgettable part of the opera’s majestic allure.
