Wat Phra Kaew is a temple in the Grand Palace, similar to Wat Phra Si Sanphet in the ancient palace of the Ayutthaya period. It is a temple without monks because there is only a Buddhist section, no Sangha section. The principal Buddha image is the Emerald Buddha.
Wat Phra Kaew is a beautiful temple. It is a temple that is a symbol of the Thai people. The temple is spacious, clean, and there are many tourists, both Thais and foreigners.

My Journey to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha in Bangkok
Last year, I had the privilege of visiting the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) in Bangkok, Thailand, a place that left me in awe. As one of Thailand's most important temples, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha is not just a religious sanctuary but also a treasure trove of history and culture.
Upon entering the temple, I was immediately captivated by its magnificent architecture and vibrant decorations. The temple's exterior walls glistened, and the golden rooftops shimmered under the sunlight, making me feel as if I had stepped into a fairy tale. The renowned Emerald Buddha, in particular, filled me with reverence. This statue, carved from a single piece of jade, sits serenely in an ornate chapel, radiating a mysterious glow.
My visit to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha allowed me to appreciate not only the stunning architecture and art but also the profound and vast Thai culture. This place is not just a tourist hotspot but also a site for reflection and contemplation. I look forward to returning to this sacred land to continue exploring its wisdom and beauty.

Bangkok will penalize every individual who does not strategize‼️
This is the first time I went to Bangkok without a guide!
Because my best friend is in Bangkok, so she took me on an in-depth tour without stepping on any pitfalls! Take out your notebook and write it down!

▪️ Watergate Temple Buddha: very recommended to go! There is no admission fee, different angles are very shocking, photo also out of the film ~ Chinese people bring fire photo bit, the address on the picture directly search!
▪️ Zhengwang Temple: recommended! The surrounding area is full of shops renting clothes, 150 baht a set No time limit, the Chao Phraya River across the Grand Palace can be seen, 1-2h can be photographed to stroll through!
❌ do not recommend the Grand Palace because the land is not big tickets are expensive, several are not open, depending on personal wishes it!
▪️ Siam Paragon and Centralworld together, Netflix footbridge is here, large shopping district can slowly stroll
▪️ Four-Face Buddha + Big C: walk from the shopping district can be reached, the Four-Face Buddha is super small, like in the square; BC big supermarkets can buy speciality products, Thai school uniforms are also here to buy, a set of 100 + rmb very cost-effective!
▪️ ordinary red light district, you can see it, a bit shocking!
D2
▪️ICONSIAM: super big! Very good to stroll ~ underground water night market to eat a lot, inside and outside are very suitable for photography, you can slowly stroll most of the day!
▪️ Mekong River Cruise: highly recommended to go to the opposite side of the Zheng Wang Temple to see the sunset! 🌇 very beautiful and very good shot, unfortunately this time did not go ......
▪️ Chinatown: super crowded at night, super lively, eat a lot, take pictures also beyond the film!
▪️NANA Square: you can feel the Thai ‘culture’, very strong, seems to be in the city is very lively!
▪️Kaoshan Road Night Market: foreigners gathered in these two night areas, a street of bars, but also food, lively 💥!
D3
▪️ Siam Walking Street: the other side of Paragon, a bit like Chunxi Road in Chengdu and Nanjing East Road in Shanghai, many shops are very good to shop!
▪️ King Power Duty Free Shop: big brands from 50% off, the day we went 70% off, snacks are very cheap with 2k-1k 🐷 coupons, worth shopping 🛍️
▪️ Food Street after Chulalongkorn University: superb food! Milk Boy is right here, lots of queues and the milk is super good!
Recommended
▫️ Many streets and alleys in Thailand are very Thai flavour, you can take more photos 📸
▫️ accommodation can live in the old town, Siam District, Riverside District, there are not many attractions! It is also relatively gathered, three days of slow play is also enough!
▫️ Most of them are Bangkok ➕ Pattaya or Bangkok ➕ Phuket, if you have enough time, you can arrange the itinerary in this way.
▫️ The Mai Attack Railway Market, Tannen Sado Floating Market, and the Ancient City of Siam are very, very far away! Don't follow the guide blindly to play 😤
Food
The first two photos on ▪️ are from BTS S8 station.
Ghost Hanging Noodles, Tossed Rice (go to other shops to find the same ones all are delicious)

The most intuitive place to feel the wealth of the Thai royal family is the Grand Palace
The Grand Palace is the palace of the Thai royal family. It was built in 1782 and has been expanded and renovated by generations of kings to its current scale. The Grand Palace has obvious Siamese architectural features, it is magnificent and has national characteristics, and it is called the 'encyclopedia of Thai art'.
In 1992, the Thai government funded the construction of the Thai Buddha Garden in Luoyang White Horse Temple, which is a condensed essence of Thai architecture represented by the Bangkok Grand Palace.
The Grand Palace covers a huge area and includes two parts for touring: the Jade Buddha Temple and the Grand Palace. The tourist entrance is at the Jade Buddha Temple.
🇹🇭Jade Buddha Temple
Named after the jade Buddha enshrined in the temple, the temple is located in the northeast corner of the Grand Palace, about a quarter of the size of the Grand Palace. It is one of the three national treasures of Thailand, the guardian temple of the Chakri Dynasty, and the national temple.
The jade Buddha is enshrined in the main hall, it is carved from real jade, 66 cm high and 48 cm wide. It was a treasure that was fought over by many countries. After being discovered in Chiang Rai in 1434, it has been enshrined in the Jade Buddha Temple.
There are seven pairs of fairy statues on the high platform of the Jade Buddha Temple. The upper body of the lioness fairy is a woman, and the lower body is a lion; the upper body of the golden Nara is a man, and the lower body is a bird.
Each door in the temple has a six-meter-high guardian Yaksha, holding a Dharma sword, which is very spectacular.
There are also three pagodas to the north of the main hall: a pure Thai-style scripture library, a Sri Lankan-style golden relic pagoda, and a royal ancestral temple built by Rama IV.
The model of Angkor Wat is a collection of Rama III, and you can still see the appearance of Angkor Wat when it was complete from this huge model.
There are 178 paintings in the corridor of the Jade Buddha Temple, which were painted during the period of Rama I, telling a mythological story of good people defeating bad people.
🇹🇭Grand Palace
The main building is four palaces, with the roof in the Thai characteristic three-top structure, lined up in a row, with green ceramic tile ridges, purple and red glazed tile roofs, and pointed phoenix head flying eaves. But these main buildings are not open to the public.
Chakri Palace is the largest main hall in the Grand Palace, with three floors, built by Rama V in 1876. The initial design was a Western-style building, but because it felt a bit abrupt among a group of Thai buildings, a traditional Thai roof was added later.
🇹🇭Grand Palace (The Grand Palace)
Address: Phra Borom Maha Ratchawang, Phra Nakhon Bangkok 10200
Opening hours: 8:30-15:30
Ticket: 500 baht/person (cash or card can be used)
The dress code in the Grand Palace is strict, please be sure to comply
Do not hire wild tour guides at the door, easy to be deceived
Photography is prohibited in the main hall, and you need to take off your shoes and hats when entering

Captivating bangkok in temples and river
I left my heart in the city of Bangkok, not only because of the many captivating sights, but also because the cost of living in Bangkok is quite affordable. I can find delicious food all around the city. Moreover, cruising in a boat along the city's river is what I enjoy the most.
The blend of ancestral culture with modern vibes within one city makes Bangkok a comfortable place for both tourists and workers. #bangkok #temple #Amazingvacation #solotrip

Best temple in Bangkok
Part of The Grand Palace this is a quite sensational temple. The architecture and design are something that you really need to see.
The huge statues are really detailed and a little scary. Especially the green one. There are several shrines here with different styles of Buddha, each one unique.
The star attraction is the Jade Buddha. This is a magnificently carved Buddha which has rotating outfits. No photography is permitted.
You can walk around and enjoy the buildings and the religious feeling. It does however get very busy here so be prepared. I suggest combining it with The Grand Palace.

Must visit attraction in Bangkok!
The Grand Palace is a must visit place in Bangkok. It is full of art, ornate architecture, history, etc. I spent about a little over two hours here. The longest time out of all the temples that I visited. The entrance fee is 500 Thai baht person.
There is also a strict dress code so please dress modestly. There are so many buildings and things to see in here. The most famous thing to see here is the emerald Buddha temple called Wat Phra Kaew. It’s a temple with a small Buddha that’s emerald color. After the temple, you can also see demon guards and visit the Royal pantheon. The Chakri Maha Pradit Hall is where the kings used to live. All the buildings are beautiful and the designs are intricate. You can really experience the rich Thai culture here.

Wat Phra Kaew, Temple of Emerald Buddha
If you ever visit Bangkok, Wat Phra Kaew is unquestionably among the most breathtaking locations to see. The surrounding walls are covered in intricate paintings, and the buildings are lovely and beautifully adorned. One might easily spend hours just looking at the paintings because there is so much to see. One outstanding aspect of the paintings is the incorporation of golden hues, which give them an ethereal, difficult-to-describe shine in the light from a distance.
The Jade Buddha is the temple's holiest object. This sacred figure is surrounded by a number of myths and traditions, and pilgrims are constantly praying in the room where it is kept.
I stayed in the temple for a while before moving to the Grande Palace, which is only used for very formal occasions like coronations and royal funerals. For me, the most intriguing structure was a sizable structure with Thai-style roofs that was constructed totally in a European style. It was supposedly designed in Europe, but as construction on the structure neared completion, the monarch was persuaded to include Thai characteristics in its architecture.

Bangkok Thailand Temple of Reclining Buddha is well worth the sacrifices involved in getting there!
We enjoyed the serenity of the environment even in the midst of many visitors. It is very nice how crossing the busy city with motorcycles zinging everywhere, chickens squawking loose and throngs of humanity surging about, one soon is calming by the very large reclining Gautama Buddha.
For many, Buddha is the omnipresent friend, the eternal divine nature revealed for compassion to assist all beings towards peace. The traditional Buddhist ornate wall and ceiling decor is present and offers much wherein to immerse the eyes and feelings.
One considers that Gautama, after awakening, said there is not a recent time when he awakened but that he had realized he is the awake one from time immemorial. This means Buddha.
Primordial silence is worth the honor of reflection upon Temple of Reclining Buddha. Also, many feel that pilgrimages of all lengths and types evoke various blessings to the soul.
The Temple shows many signs of being well managed and visitors embrace this respect. There is a sense of harmony among the diverse group currently present in the Temple.

📍Wat Phra Chetuphon, Bangkok.
One of the temples you must visit in Bangkok. The giant reclining Buddha was amazing. To be honest, it wasn’t much to do there. When we got there, it was almost closing time so Thank God it wasn’t many people. We also needed to take our shoes off.

In addition to the Daxiong Hall, there are other palaces in the Jade Buddha Temple. The buildings such as the Book Collection are very Thai-style and are magnificent. The sun is dazzling, because there is no tour guide, we are visiting ourselves. The whole building is very luxurious, and the buildings are reflective when you look closely, because there are reflective glass pieces on the outside of the building.
Ti Shu Shu Ge and Shwedagon Pagoda, this Golden Pagoda is definitely the most eye-catching building of the entire Jade Buddha Temple. It is golden from top to bottom. The square building next to it is the library. It is the most powerful, and it is dedicated to a classic made of gold.
There are many statues in the entire Jade Buddha Temple, different postures, but very Thai. Is this statue familiar? If you have been to Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, you must be impressed. There are several such statues in the airport standing in the check-in hall. This is my Thai impression. I like this pair of gods the most, the upper body is the daughter body, the lower body is the lion body, the lion body fairy, very beautiful.
The roofs of many temples in Thailand are such a shape, a bit like a corn bag, and a bit like a stupa, a special shape, but a memory of Thai culture.

The Jewel of Bangkok: A Day at the Temple of the Emerald Buddha
#thailandtrip
Located within the sprawling grounds of the Grand Palace in Bangkok, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, or Wat Phra Kaew, is a dazzling symbol of Thailand’s cultural and spiritual heritage. As I entered the complex, the sheer opulence of the architecture left me in awe—golden spires, intricate mosaics, and vividly painted walls all glimmered under the sun, creating a visual feast unlike any other.
At the heart of this sacred site lies the Emerald Buddha, a small yet profoundly revered statue carved from a single block of jade. Elevated high on a golden pedestal within the temple’s intricately decorated ordination hall, the Emerald Buddha exudes a sense of divine presence. While photography is not permitted inside, the atmosphere was unforgettable, with worshippers bowing in quiet devotion and the faint scent of incense filling the air. The statue’s seasonal robes, changed by the king himself to mark the country’s three seasons, add to its cultural significance, symbolizing blessings for the nation.
Beyond the Emerald Buddha itself, the temple grounds are a treasure trove of artistry and symbolism. From the intricately detailed murals depicting the Ramakien (the Thai version of the Ramayana) to the towering golden chedi and mythical statues guarding the temple entrances, every corner radiates craftsmanship and spiritual meaning. The scale and detail of the complex made it easy to lose myself in the stories etched into its walls and structures.
Despite the large crowds, there was a profound sense of reverence throughout the temple. It is not just a site of historical and artistic importance but a living, breathing symbol of Thailand’s faith and monarchy. The Temple of the Emerald Buddha is more than a destination—it’s an immersion into the soul of Thailand, where history, art, and spirituality converge in breathtaking harmony.
