Taihu Fairy Island
Taihu Fairy Island in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, originally named Sanshan, commonly known as Turtle Mountain. It is located in Meiliang Lake, 2.6 kilometers from Yuantouzhu. It is one of the famous peaks among the seventy-two peaks of Taihu Lake, covering an area of 12 hectares, and is actually composed of four small peaks. Taihu Fairy Island showcases ancient Taoist culture and mythical colors, divided into scenic areas such as Dongtian Fudi and Tiandu Xianfu. In the middle is the Huixian Bridge, which is simple and solemn, with connected pavilions and corridors. To the north of Huixian Bridge is Xiyashan, the Dongtian Fudi tourist area, where the exquisitely carved 'Taihu Fairy Island' archway stands, along with the white marble relief screen wall 'The Jade Emperor's Tour of Heaven'. There are also Huaguo Mountain, Water Curtain Cave, and performance venues specifically for monkeys to inhabit and perform monkey arts, decorated with 'The Birth of the Divine Monkey', 'The Flag of the Great Sage Equal to Heaven', and 'The Stone Tablet of Huaguo Mountain', recreating scenes from the famous classical novel 'Journey to the West'. The main peak is Tiandu Xianfu, which includes Tianmen Tianjie, Tiandu Xianfu, Yaowang, Wenwang, Caishen Hall, Lingxiao Pavilion, Pantao Yaoci, Yue Lao Temple, and Taiyi Tiantan. The shops on Tianjie are lined up in an antique style. The carved doors and windows in the shapes of fairy peaches, pomegranates, gourds, etc., are exquisite and picturesque, like a fairyland. The main building of Tiandu Xianfu covers an area of 1,320 square meters, with a three-story, five-eaved main building, a Xieshan roof, 22 meters high, housing Wenchang, Guandi, and Mazu halls, with sixty Huajia Yuanchen corridors on both sides. Lingxiao Palace, seven stories and four corners, 38 meters high, with a statue of the Jade Emperor. Dajue Bay, Xianren Cave, gather the stone carving arts of Chinese Buddhism and Taoism. Other attractions include the Sacrificial Altar, Yue Lao Temple, Mandarin Duck Pavilion, and many other scenic spots.
