The Surabaya Zoo (KBS) was first established based on the Decree of the Governor General of the Dutch East Indies dated 31 August 1916 No. 40, with the name Soerabaiasche Planten-en Dierentuin (Surabaya Botanical and Animal Gardens) for the services of a journalist named H.F.K. Kommer has a hobby of collecting animals. From a financial perspective, H.F.K Kommer received help from several people who had sufficient capital. The first KBS location was in Kaliondo, in 1916. Then on September 28 1917 it moved to Jalan Groedo. A legendary zoo which opened for public since 1918. A good place to introduce animals to your kids. The entrance ticket was 15.000 rupiah. But if you want to enter Aquarium inside, you need to pay another 20.000 rupiah per person. Overall is good but it would be better if we can improve the cleanese of the park. Im happy to be in there, nice cleanliness and much variation of animals.
