[2024 West Jakarta Stay] Travel Guide for St. Moritz Tower Royal Suite (Updated Nov)
EXPATROASTER | COFFESHOP WITH URBAN VIEW
The view from the outdoor area of expatroasters Jakarta is stunning as evening approaches. Located on the 13th floor of Jakarta Mori Tower Sudirman, Expat is easily accessible to the public via a special lift at the front of the building—just a few hundred meters from the Bendungan Hilir MRT Station exit.
In the heart of Jakarta, this Bali-originated café is a comfortable spot for me to have coffee and hang out. The coffee is delicious, especially when made with special beans. The baristas and other staff are friendly, the seating is comfortable with plenty of power outlets. A clean prayer room and restroom are next door, which makes me enjoy having coffee here even more.
I usually drink black coffee, and iced black and Japanese iced coffee are often my orders. But my friend half-forced me to try a warm cappuccino with special beans called Jozo—a blend of Ethiopian and Bali Kintamani coffee, unique to Expat. There's an additional charge, but I really like the piccolo—with Jozo coffee, the cup is not as wide as a cappuccino. It has a chocolate sensation, fruity taste, and a hint of sweetness, something like that.
My other friend ordered a cappuccino with beans labeled Patria, which has a bolder flavor. The fun part is the barista offering to create latte art right at our table. Ah, Expat's reputation became even cooler in our eyes. While waiting for the sky to darken a bit, besides having coffee, we snacked on onion rings and mushrooms. They also have main courses and desserts, with a special banana bread flown in from Bali and served with espresso butter.
