I attended several masses, which were beautifully conducted and created a strong sense of community. The heartfelt readings and uplifting hymns made each service special. Inside, the serene ambiance, enhanced by light streaming through the windows, was perfect for reflection. The well-maintained grounds offered a peaceful escape from the city. Overall, my time at St. George's Church was a highlight of my trip. It’s a must-visit for anyone interested in history and culture, leaving me inspired and grateful for such a significant piece of Malaysia’s heritage. #penang #trip #holiday

St. George Church in George Town - Malaysia

St. George's Church is one of the main Christian shrines in Georgetown. Built in 1817 with the money of the East India Trading Company in Penang, it is still in operation. It is the oldest Anglican church in all of Southeast Asia. This church has an interesting neoclassical facade resembling a Greek temple topped by a pointed tower upon which the cross dominates above the quaint green surroundings. Visitors can get here only in the morning from 08:30 to 12:30 and in the afternoon from 13:30 to 16:30. Sunday open all day.
