Decided to escape the hustle and bustle of the city on a holiday and spend a day at the 'Shangri-La Leisure Farm' located at the foot of Dayuan Mountain in Yilan's countryside.
When choosing the room type, we were already drawn to the view from the room in the first picture, and we were lucky enough to get it!
We were initially worried about mosquitoes in the mountain room, but after checking in, we found our worries were unnecessary. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a very comfortable bed.
Our package included one night with two meals, free entry to the scenic farm, night folk activities such as making glutinous rice balls, spinning tops, and sky lantern blessings, and even a late-night snack!
I must mention that both breakfast and dinner were excellent, taking good care of us.
Dinner was Taiwanese cuisine, with the main course chosen at check-in and six side dishes (grains and roots, sweet potato leaves, Taiwanese pickles, minced pork with pickles, cold edamame).
Breakfast was semi-buffet style, with each person getting a portion of Chinese side dishes (braised pork belly, pork floss, boiled egg, boiled broccoli, cold peanuts and edamame), and the buffet included bread, salad, fruits, porridge, steamed buns, coffee, and soy milk.
The most special activity this time - Wild Vegetable Picking
The farm boasts an organic, pesticide-free environment, with chickens, ducks, and musk pigs, and a whole organic vegetable garden on the back hill.
It was my first time picking fresh vegetables from the garden, washing them clean, and then cooking and tasting them right in the park, experiencing the farm-to-table process and the strong rural atmosphere.
The accommodation experience was truly amazing 🫶🏻
