"Carved and carved again, a piece of jade is worth ten thousand gold." Jade is one of the symbols of Chinese culture. If you ask me where I can see so many jade articles, the answer is the East Hall of the Shanghai Museum. In the Jade Hall, more than 100 jade articles spanning thousands of years of history are on display. Although it has been several days and I have forgotten the names of these jade articles, I have to admire that an ordinary piece of jade has become a rare treasure under the meticulous carving of the ancients. The jade butterfly in Figure 5 and the jade cong in Figure 8 are my favorites. 💍💎

I've been away from Shanghai for a few days now, and I finally have time to sort through my photos. I visited the East Hall of the Shanghai Museum, where a large number of precious ancient bronzes are on display. You might think they're just bronze, but they're actually "kings". In particular, the Da Ke Ding (Pic 1), Shang Yang Fang Sheng (Pic 2), and Jin Hou Su Zhong (Pic 3) are all considered the "treasures" of the East Hall of the Shanghai Museum. This was my first time seeing so many bronzes. Bronzes are a product of their time and a testament to history, so we should protect these cultural relics. 🔔😲

I have been to Shanghai Bodong Building countless times, and now I can finally go to the rooftop garden📣 ❤️❤️❤️The new exhibition "Wood and Stone Shuangqing" in Shanghai Bo East Building and Shanghai Style Bonsai Exhibition are currently being held in the roof garden of Shanghai Bo East Building! 📅Exhibition period: September 6, 2024 - November 11, 2024 ✅This exhibition is located in the roof garden (fifth floor) of Shanghai Bo East Building and the atrium (fourth floor) of Jiangnan Museum of Creation. It is divided into four parts: ancient stone offerings, new famous stone offerings, Shanghai-style bonsai, and Shanghai Orchid Room. ✅The 5th floor roof garden is built into a Jiangnan classical garden - Yunlin. The garden is composed of three areas: east, middle and west. The Jiangnan garden pattern fits well with Shanghai-style bonsai~ ✅I went there yesterday, and the West Garden was not open yet. In 2024, the Shanghai Museum East Wing and the Shanghai Botanical Garden will celebrate their 50th anniversaries. From September 6 to November 11, the Shanghai Botanical Garden and the Shanghai Museum will jointly hold the "Wood and Stone: Jiangnan Stone Supply and Shanghai Bonsai Exhibition" at the Shanghai Museum East Wing. The exhibition will focus on the themes of Shanghai and Jiangnan, and will integrate bonsai with other elements such as strange stones to showcase the charm of gardens and culture. The exhibition is located in the East Garden, Central Garden, and Jiangnan Creation Museum Atrium of the Shanghai Museum East Wing Roof Garden. It is themed around "Ancient Stone Supply", "Famous Stone New Supply", "Shanghai Bonsai", and "Sea Orchid Room". The exhibition is full of strange stones and beautiful trees, making the mountains and valleys interesting and overflowing. The roof garden is located on the fifth floor. In an exhibition space of nearly 1,000 square meters, more than 6,000 coins from the museum's collection are displayed, making it the permanent exhibition hall with the largest number of artifacts in the East Hall. The exhibition aims to comprehensively reflect the development and changes of the social economy through a rich variety of coins, presenting a complete history of Chinese currency and financial development. ❤Recommended Reasons: The exhibition is divided into different periods, including the Late Neolithic, Zhou Dynasty, Spring and Autumn and Warring States, Han Dynasty, Three Kingdoms, Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties, Tang and Five Dynasties, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing Dynasties, as well as foreign sections. Artifacts freeze history, and the years pass down civilization. Let us use archaeological discoveries to explore the historical process of Shanghai. The Songze site from six thousand years ago reveals the origin of Shanghai. The Fuquanshan site discovered multiple high-ranking noble tombs, with burial items including jade cong and jade bi representing religious theocracy, jade yue symbolizing military power, and scepters embodying the control of wealth, faith, and military. In the tenth year of Tianbao in the Tang Dynasty (751), Huating County was established, marking the birth of the first independent administrative division in Shanghai's history. In the fourteenth year of Zhiyuan in the Yuan Dynasty (1277), Huating was elevated to a prefecture, and the following year it was renamed Songjiang Prefecture. In December of the tenth year of Jiading in the Southern Song Dynasty (1218), Jiading County was established. In the twenty-ninth year of Zhiyuan in the Yuan Dynasty (1292), Shanghai County was established.
