Shanghai Xintiandi, a must-eat list of old shops that you can't go wrong with.
🌈National Day holiday with friends, walk around in Xintiandi, and come to Lianxiji, a must-eat restaurant for 3 consecutive years, for a late-night snack in the evening.
🌸As soon as I walked into the store, I was deeply attracted by the strong Hong Kong style. The shop design is simple and stylish, with outdoor seats, flashing neon lights, and the lively dining atmosphere, as if people have traveled to the night market in Hong Kong in an instant.
🐔[Temple Street Fengsha Chicken]
Every time I come to Xiji, I must order the signature dishes. The color is attractive, the fragrance is fragrant, the skin is oily and crispy, the chicken is tender and juicy, and the unique and Hong Kong style.
🐮[First draw soy sauce and hang the dragon]
The soy sauce is rich and mellow, the dragon meat is tender and delicate, the two are integrated, and every bite is a great enjoyment.
🍫[Black Chocolate Milk Jelly]
The gospel of sugar water control, the rich chocolate aroma is coming, take a bite, the silky milk jelly melts gently in the mouth, sweet but not greasy, and the happiness is bursting.

Shanghai must see exhibitions this year! From the moment I learned the news about visiting ancient Egyptian civilization, I eagerly awaited the "Top of the Pyramid: Exhibition of Ancient Egyptian Civilization" and was invited by art enthusiasts to visit. Here is a simple exhibition guide. This time, 492 sets of 788 cultural relics from different periods of ancient Egyptian civilization, collected from dust and transported, are displayed in the first floor space of Shangbo. The entire exhibition is divided into three parts: "The Kingdom of Pharaohs", "The Age of Tutankhamun", and "The Secrets of Sakara". I personally suggest observing the exhibition in this order. Starting from the kingdom of pharaohs, this area explores the background of ancient Egypt, showcasing its cosmology, royal order, and beliefs of later generations. From daily life to cultural aspects of the spiritual world, including statues of Ramses II and painted human coffins, the "Age of Tutankhamun" area showcases what was written in the tomb of King Tutankhamun of the 18th dynasty, nearly 3000 years ago. The lighting in this exhibition hall makes viewers feel like they are standing at the edge of a pyramid under the setting sun. The "Secrets of Sakara" exhibition hall displays many animal mummies from the Sakara tomb area, as well as civilizations that can be explored. The life of the Cat God Priest has always been. In addition to the exhibition on the first floor, there is also an immersive exploration experience on the second floor called "The Way to Disappear: The Pyramid of Giza". You can purchase a ticket separately to participate (G198/person). The 45 minute VR experience allowed me to escape into the Pyramid of Giza, which is quite interesting. In addition, Shangbo plans to hold ten "Museum Strange Meow Nights" every Saturday night for nine months, where everyone can bring their pet cats to watch the exhibition together? Shanghai Museum (People's Square Hall) Dad, July 19-2025. Research. On July 17th (closed on Mondays), 148 tickets will be left for each person, and tickets for parents and children (200 for one major and one small, and 320 for two major and one small) will be reserved. The summer vacation has all been fully booked, and tickets for the next month will be available at noon on the 1st of each month, with advance arrangements made. In order to conduct research, we can set the location for the alarm clock to look good in September! After the appointment, there are two more opportunities to change the visa

The Ancient Egypt Exhibition at the Shanghai Museum: A Mysterious Civilization You Can't Miss!
Stepping into the Ancient Egypt Civilization Exhibition at the Shanghai Museum feels like traveling back to that mysterious land. The exhibition features a rich variety of artifacts, from statues of pharaohs to exquisite mummy coffins, each exuding an ancient and mysterious aura. The exhibition is cleverly laid out across three sections—'The Land of Pharaohs,' 'Secrets of Saqqara,' and 'The Era of Tutankhamun'—providing a comprehensive display of the glorious history of ancient Egyptian civilization. The immersive experience offers a deeper understanding of ancient Egypt's cosmology, social order, and religious beliefs. This exhibition is undoubtedly a feast for both the eyes and the soul.

[Shanghai Museum] Exhibition of ancient Egyptian civilization, experience the beliefs and customs of thousands of years ago
#文青游者 #adventurous traveler
After taking a break to read in the East Branch of Shanghai Library at noon, we came to the Shanghai Museum. We visited the Jade Hall, Ceramics Hall, Cultural Relics Restoration Hall, Currency Hall, Bronze Hall, and Sculpture Hall in sequence. The museum was crowded and everyone was in high spirits. We were also impressed by the long history of Chinese civilization and the diligence and wisdom of the ancients.
It coincides with the fourth exhibition of the Shanghai Museum's "Dialogue with the World" cultural relics and art exhibition series "Top of the Pyramid: Ancient Egyptian Civilization Exhibition. The exhibits are very important in terms of quantity, type, and weight (many large stone pharaoh statues!) , it makes people feel like they were in ancient Egypt thousands of years ago, and people's beliefs, aesthetics, customs and feelings are displayed one by one.

Hello, Shanghai
It is my honor to introduce to you some attractions near Shanghai People's Square. First of all, People's Square itself is an attraction worth visiting. It has a wide square area and different architectural styles around it. It is one of the landmarks of Shanghai. Secondly, the Shanghai Museum is a museum that displays Shanghai's history, culture and modern art. It has a rich collection of cultural relics and artworks that make people forget to leave. Finally, Yuyuan Garden is a garden with rich historical and cultural heritage, which brings together traditional architecture, antique garden landscapes and delicious food. Taking photos in front of these famous scenic spots will leave you with beautiful and unforgettable memories.

[Shanghai Museum] It's hard to believe it's 3,300 years old! The bronze artefacts section is a must-see!!
The Shanghai Museum is one of the three major museums in China. Located on the south side of Shanghai's People's Square, the four-story building displays over 100,000 items, divided into 11 exhibition areas including bronzeware, ceramics, calligraphy, paintings, and coins.
Among them, the most eye-catching are the bronzeware from about 4,000 years ago. There is almost no rust, and they are so beautiful that it is hard to believe your eyes. Normally, you would think that there would be no more left because of rust, or that even if there were any, they would have decayed away, so it was a surprise.
In Japan, the phrase "4,000 years of China" is common, but if you calculate from the Xia Dynasty in the 21st century BC, which is the subject of this exhibition, it is 4,000 years old. Meanwhile, in China, the accepted theory seems to be that China has been around for 5,000 years. (I looked it up and found that there are ruins in Zhejiang Province that are 5,000 years old, so I have to go see them.) Whether it's 4,000 or 5,000 years, it's a different length of ancient history compared to Japan's 2,000 years.
The "Gongfu Yilou" is said to be 3,300 years old from the Shang Dynasty, but it is incredibly beautiful. Various creatures are drawn on the body, and it is full of artistry. When you look at the English title, the character " 同" is not translated, but it is not actually 同, but a different kanji without the middle line. I still don't know how to read it, so I can't translate it into English.
Other exhibits, such as pots with characters carved into them, each have their own history, and there is no end to discovering them.
The bronzeware section is also wonderful, and the other exhibits are also worth seeing.
I think you need about 3 hours to see everything.
There is an automatic guide machine available for rental, and it costs 40 yuan for foreign languages. It's a bit of a hassle because it's a phone type, but I think it's definitely necessary to deepen your understanding.

Once upon a time in Shanghai
Shanghai is a popular tourist destination known for its historical landmarks such as The Bund, City God Temple and Yu Garden as well as the extensive Lujiazui skyline, many skyscrapers, and major museums including the Shanghai Museum and the China Art Museum.
During one of trips to Shanghai about 5 years ago one of the places we've been to is the Yu Garden also know as Yuyuan. It lies next to the City God Temple in Shanghai’s Old City, which was dedicated to the city’s spirits, or protectors, in the 1400s. The classic Chinese-style gardens, complete with rockeries, ponds, pavilions and towers, feature several distinct areas separated by grey tiled ridges called “dragon walls”. The area surrounding the gardens holds endless opportunities to try street food and buy souvenirs. If you can’t make it to Suzhou in Jiangsu province, which is better known for its gardens, Yuyuan will surely not failed you.
Next is Shanghai Disneyland. Many of the rides, attractions and characters have been redesigned to cater to a Chinese tourist audience. A group of Chinese zodiac gardens make up its centre – with the 12 animals represented by Disney characters – and instead of Main Street USA, there is Mickey Avenue. There’s also more live entertainment here than in other Disney theme parks. It’s a great choice if you need a break from traditional sightseeing in Shanghai
And if ever you feel tired being surrounded by tourist crowds, I highly recommended Wan Shan bird and flower market. Flowers are sold alongside pet birds, fish, chinchillas and even crickets – from the tiny to the unnervingly massive – in this market, which sits at the junction of Tibet Road and Huiji Road. You’ll also find potted plants, such as bonsai trees and succulents, on sale. Antiques and jade are also sold nearby, in case you’re good for small mammals, and your aquarium and window box are both fully stocked.
Temples can be a great way to find peace within the noise of Shanghai tourism and city life in general, whether or not you are religious. The Buddhist temple of Longhua is the oldest in the city and has a fascinating history, from its inception in 242CE to i#spooktaculartrip s use as a Japanese-run internment camp during World War II. I suggest you simply walk around the complex, or buy some incense and send up a prayer of your own.
These attractions are a great place to start if you only have a few days to experience the city’s splendour and I know you’ll find something worth visiting around every corner in the largest city in China.

Shanghai Museum Yuanfang Design Harmony between man and nature
Take the subway 🚊Line 1 to People’s Square Station and walk 🚶♂️ for about 10 minutes to reach the Shanghai Museum designed by Tianyuan 🪐; it displays historical relics ⏳ from ancient times 👣 to modern times 📖, and the inspiration of the unity of heaven and man 👥.
The exhibits are well organized and classified, and the interior furnishings reflect people's lives; the wooden furniture is simple and practical, fully expressing the beauty of lines, and is the founding concept of modern design.
The original transaction of mankind was bartering. The emergence of currency 💰 was a breakthrough. Coins are basically round; occasionally you will see knife-shaped and cloth-shaped currencies. There must be a reason for everything. Unfortunately, modern people may not be able to understand the reason behind it. meaning 🤨
Free and open all year round (except nationally designated holidays)
Opening hours🕰: 9 a.m. to 5 a.m., last admission time: 4 p.m. (closed on Mondays)

Shanghai museum - Very nice!
Getting There - Near Dashijie subway station.
Attractions - Plenty of exhibitions such as: Ceramics, ancient Chinese sculpture, painting calligraphy, ancient Silk Road coins, and many more!
My personal favorite was the calligraphy exhibition.
Food & Restaurants - There are places where you can buy drinks and snacks.
I unfortunately didn’t have much time when I went
but I saw plenty of other visitors with headsets. Not sure what the language options are but if you have enough time, I’d recommend getting a pair.
I stayed for about 2 hours but I’d recommend over 3 hours if you don’t have a time constraint.
Enjoy your visit! ☺️

History is No More Mistery
🧭 Shanghai History Museum is one of the most interesting museums were you can learn really a lot.
🧭 Getting there these days you need to make a reservation through wechat. Otherwise there is no way to get inside. Arrive in time, stand for a while in a line and here u go. You DO need and audio guide, cause without it you will be wondering around without knowing anything.
🧭 The couns exhibition hall is quite impressive, it showed Chinese coins of all kinds and shapes, some of them are bigger than my hand. The halls with traditional paintings and ceramis are amazing as well. I can watch those vases forever.
🧭 There were quite many things that turned out to be not what I expected, some of them really puzzeled me (like the fruit bowl on the pic #2)
Museum is located on People Square (Subway line 1 or 2), it is very easy to find.

The Shanghai Museum is hosting a display from a Tang Dynasty shipwreck. Many examples of exquisitely made porcelain from all over ancient China illustrate how the maritime Silk Road worked. Worth an hour to visit, but be sure to book in advance and all tickets for the day were sold out by 11am.

The Shanghai Museum was founded in 1952. The new museum was built and put into use in 1996. It is located in Renmin Avenue, Huangpu District, across the road from the famous Peoples Square, which eats fried chicken. The building of the Shanghai Museum looks particularly like a cornucopia from the outside. Baidu Encyclopedia said that the overall structure is a combination of a square base and a round out of the building, with the meaning of China's round place. I probably believe it this way.
A few basic exhibitions, the first one I went to was the ancient ceramics hall. Oops, sigh, its really a lot of good things that have never been concentrated on a large scale. Collections can best reflect the basic level of a museum. A single piece of boutique can find a lot of angles to elaborate and express, not to mention these series of fine cultural relics, and think carefully, only to be thankful that they are not engaged in cultural relics research.

Amarna Style | Ancient Egypt Exhibition at the Shanghai Museum
🌟 Highlights:
The father of Tutankhamun, King Akhenaten (Amenhotep IV), moved the capital to Amarna in the fifth year of his reign, carried out religious reforms, abandoned the gods, and worshiped only Aten. The image of the god Aten is a solar wheel, the god of creation, the god of the universe, and the source of all life in the world.
❤ Recommended reason:
Akhenaten advocated worshiping only Aten and forbade the worship of other gods, and even the plural of gods could not appear. He also abolished the complicated temple rituals and advocated direct communication with the god Aten in open-air courtyards in a simple way. Akhenaten claimed to be the only son of Aten and the only intermediary between gods and men.
✅ Must experience:
Akhenaten created a new artistic style - the Amarna style. Akhenaten and his family and subjects were all portrayed as having long faces, broad foreheads, thick lips, narrow shoulders, and big bellies, achieving a complete separation of gods and humans in appearance.
❤ Recommended reason:
After Akhenaten's death, the new religion ended, and the traditional religion made a comeback. Before the discovery of Amarna by archaeologists in the 19th century, Akhenaten had been completely forgotten for more than 3,000 years. His name was not only completely erased from official records, but also completely disappeared among the people, becoming an "encrypted" traumatic memory.

Ushabti figurines at the Shanghai Museum's Ancient Egypt exhibition.
🌟 Highlights:
Ushabti figurines, also known as shabti, shawabti, or shawabty.
A small sculpture used in Egyptian funerals, resembling the image of Osiris (i.e., a mummified body), usually inscribed with the name of the deceased. Many important tombs contain large numbers of these small sculptures, intended to perform various tasks that the earth god might require of the deceased.
❤ Recommended reason:
Each ushabti figurine is a lifelike wooden doll, dressed in the authoritative attire of its class, holding the appropriate tools. There are farmers, gardeners, fishermen, bakers, brewers, ladies, soldiers, tax collectors, clerks, butchers, and hundreds of ordinary laborers, all doing hard work.

Sakkara Dynasty Ancient Egypt Exhibition at the Shanghai Museum
🌟Highlights:
The ancient Egyptians had a long tradition of "pilgrimage." The ancient religious centers were not only destinations for them to worship and participate in religious ceremonies, but also places where they chose cemeteries or built temples, so ancient tombs were often reused. Sakkara is such a holy place. In the 3,000-year history of ancient Egypt, the tomb-building activities in Sakkara never stopped, and there were three peaks, namely, the Early Dynastic Period and the Old Kingdom, the late New Kingdom after the religious reform of Akhenaten, and the 26th Dynasty to the Greco-Roman period. Each peak of tomb-building was a retro move to return to tradition.
❤Recommended reason:
The ancient Egyptians regarded the capital Memphis as the beginning of their history. It is a holy place, a memory, and a real history of thought based on these two. As a holy place for the ancient Egyptians to create cultural memories, the core cemetery of Memphis, Sakkara, has left traces of religious practices and ceremonial celebrations of various eras. In different historical periods, it brought the same hope to people.

The top of the pyramid - the fourth part of Shanghai's "World of Dialogue".
The world's largest and Asia's highest-level export exhibition of ancient Egyptian cultural relics in history...
788 precious ancient Egyptian cultural relics, including statues of pharaohs such as Tutankhamun, Amenemhat III and Ramses II, sets of mummy coffins, gold jewelry of the Queen, and newly discovered painted wooden coffins and animal mummies in the Saqqara area and statues and other key exhibits...witness a condensed history of ancient Egyptian civilization. In principle, no more than 300 Egyptian cultural relics can be loaned to foreign countries; however, nearly 800 pieces were lent to Shanghai Bo this time, which is the first time in history...
The promotion and peripherals of Shanghai Bo are still very good. I bought an early bird ticket, but was frightened by the craze for exhibitions during the summer vacation, so I postponed my plan and learned some knowledge about ancient Egypt. Towards the end of the year, I made a reservation for a weekend morning show. There are not as many people as previously reported. If you can catch up with the opening to enter, it will feel like a private venue, and the experience will be quite good.
It should be said that the curator is still very careful. The exhibits are rich and of high quality, including many famous cultural relics in ancient Egyptian history. It is strongly recommended to improve your knowledge of ancient Egypt before going to the exhibition, and straighten out the relationships between gods and the inheritance of famous pharaohs/characters in history, so that it will be more interesting to go to the exhibition. After all, there is a huge amount of information, and you won’t be able to remember it if you rely on an on-site tour guide or explanation for several hours.
The exhibition is divided into three separate parts. The general history "The Kingdom of the Pharaohs" is all-encompassing, starting from the creation myth, covering social systems, daily life, spiritual world and other aspects; the other two special exhibitions "The Secret of Saqqara" and "The Age of Tutankhamun" have independent narratives , also integrates visual images and cultural relic models to increase interest and interactivity.
1. There is a VR exhibition on the second floor. If you like it, you can try it. If you purchase tickets in advance, you can enter through the special passage on the left instead of waiting in the serpentine passage on the right.
2. Bring your Mainland China ID card. You need to swipe your ID card to enter the three exhibition halls.
3. The guidebook is only available in "The Kingdom of the Pharaohs", the quantity is limited, first come first served
4. There are many kinds of souvenirs, you can scan them when you finally go out. The names written in ancient Egyptian characters on papyrus are on the second floor, which is quite unique.
5. There is also an exhibition "Glory of Persia" on the second floor, which also has many exquisite works. You must know that ancient Egypt was finally destroyed by the Persian Empire. The two exhibitions are displayed at the same time, which has a sense of historical evolution.

Temple of Bastet | Ancient Egypt Exhibition at the Shanghai Museum
🌟 Highlights:
Bubasteion is a Greek name referring to the Bastet worship area at the entrance of the Saqqara necropolis. It is believed that there was a temple of Bastet here during the New Kingdom period, and only part of the wall remains. This is one of the few remaining temple sites of Bastet in Egypt.
❤ Recommended reason:
In ancient Egypt, Bastet had three important worship centers. In addition to Saqqara, the other two were Bubastis in the Delta and Speos Artemidos in Middle Egypt. In the Bastet worship area of Saqqara, a large number of mummies were buried after 500 BC. Unlike other places, the cat mummies of Saqqara were buried in ancient tombs of the New Kingdom period thousands of years ago. The cat mummies in the ancient tombs were buried with other animal mummies, which was the usual way of burying animal mummies.
✅ Must experience:
Bastet combines the characteristics of a lion and a cat, with both dangerous and gentle sides. Like other lioness goddesses, Bastet is regarded as the daughter of the sun god Ra, the incarnation of the "Eye of Ra," and the "Eye of the Moon" related to the moon.

Shanghai Museum is a must-visit, with the Cartier exhibition in full bloom.
🎈Exhibition: Cartier and the Art of Living
⏳️Time: November 6, 2024–February 17, 2025
📍Location: Bright Dairy First Special Exhibition Hall, East Building, Shanghai Museum
This may be the first time to experience the high-end feel of Cartier up close. The exhibition at the Shanghai Museum has a long exhibition period and classic exhibits. The exhibition features 298 treasures from Cartier's collection of jewelry, watches, and archives, in dialogue with 34 Chinese cultural relics, bringing a cross-temporal artistic dialogue through six major themes.
An immersive viewing experience that intertwines vision and emotion, even for those who have no special research on jewelry, is a stunning event. Whether it looks good or not is always obvious, and some things just exude nobility.
It can be seen that the design team has put a lot of effort into it, and if you are a jewelry lover, it is even more worth the experience. Fortunately, the exhibition period is not short, so you can give yourself enough time to arrange it. I personally think it is very worth seeing.

X Thunder Avoidance Guide:
Bring your ID card!! Each exhibition hall must verify the ID card, and each exhibition hall can only visit once, remember to go out after visiting
Do not rent AR glasses! You can see the rental equipment in Figure 9, I rented AR glasses first, it is really chicken ribs, and I rented an AI guide, and lost 50 oceans
For those with limited time, you can find a manual explanation, $150/person (different levels of interpreters have different prices), they will explain some key exhibits and the history of Egypt, but there will be many people listening to it halfway ~
Because there are too many people, the order of viewing the exhibition is very important, it is recommended to watch [The Kingdom of the Pharaohs] at the end
Bring a camera to take pictures and take more pictures! If you take pictures with your mobile phone, you must bring a power bank! Because I can't finish taking pictures, the power bank in the museum is basically borrowed
The Egyptian exhibition is really worth seeing, and finally I wish you all can grab tickets and plan to have fun~
