❤️Recommendation reason: Railay Beach has always been a place I longed to visit. It is located in Krabi Province in southern Thailand, and is a peninsula surrounded by limestone cliffs that can only be reached by boat. It has fine white sand beaches, clear sea water, unique rock formations, and world-class climbing sites. After seeing many beautiful photos and travelogues about Railay Beach online, I decided to go there this year. 🗓Itinerary arrangement: I depart from Beijing and fly to Bangkok first, then transfer to Krabi Airport. It takes about 40 minutes by taxi from Krabi Airport to Ao Nang Beach. I bought a round-trip boat ticket from Ao Nang Beach Pier to Railay Beach for 200 Thai baht per person. The ticket can be used at any time, without any date or time restrictions. It takes about 15 minutes by longtail boat to reach Railay Beach. 🧳Preparation before the trip: I booked a two-night stay at Railay Village Resort-SHA Extra Plus[^1^][1] on the Lelei Beach. This resort is located on the West Railay Beach, surrounded by beautiful limestone cliffs, offering private villas and pool view rooms, and has an outdoor swimming pool. The room is spacious and comfortable, with a large bed, a sofa, a TV, a refrigerator, a safe, and a balcony. The balcony has a table and two chairs, where you can enjoy the view of the pool and garden. The bathroom is also clean and tidy, with a shower and a bathtub. 🌟Highlight features: On the first afternoon, I arrived at Lai Lei Beach. After getting off the boat, I walked along the beach for a few minutes and found my resort. After checking in, I put down my luggage and went out to explore this beautiful place. I first walked around West Lai Lei Beach, feeling the pleasant sea breeze and sunshine. West Lai Lei Beach is the longest and most beautiful beach in Lai Lei Beach, with fine and soft sand and clear blue water. There are many bars, restaurants, massage shops, and small shops on the beach, as well as some stalls offering water sports. I saw people playing kayaking, surfing, windsurfing, and so on. There are also many colorful long-tail boats parked on the beach, adding some exotic flavor to this place. 🍲Recommended dish: Curry rice (really delicious!!) I walked from West Railay Beach to East Railay Beach. This is not a beach suitable for swimming because the water is shallow and muddy, and there are many boats docked. However, there are many hotels and resorts here, as well as some restaurants and shops. I had a lunch here and tasted some Thai food, such as fried noodles, curry rice, coconut soup, and so on. I also bought some fruits and snacks, preparing for a picnic in the afternoon. I walked from East Railay Beach to South Railay Beach, which is a relatively quiet beach with not many people or facilities. There is a large limestone cave here called Princess Cave, which is said to be a sacred place dedicated to a princess named Phra Nang. The cave is filled with various wooden statues, some large and rough, some small and delicate, all gifts from locals or tourists to the princess, hoping for her blessings on their love and fertility. I think this cave is very unique and interesting. I found a comfortable spot on the South Laire Beach, spread out a blanket, and started enjoying my picnic. I ate some fruits such as mangoes, pineapples, and durians, and also drank a can of chilled Coke. I felt very relaxed and happy, just like in heaven. I lay on the beach, watching the white clouds floating in the sky, listening to the sound of waves hitting the rocks, and feeling the breeze blowing on my cheeks. I thought, this is the beauty of life. ✅Must-try: Rock climbing The next morning, I woke up very early and prepared to experience the most famous activity at Laire Beach - rock climbing. Laire Beach is a world-renowned rock climbing destination, and every day there are climbing enthusiasts from all over the world coming here. Of course, this stunning seaside scenic area has also gradually become a holiday destination for many Westerners. I booked a half-day rock climbing course online for 1000 Thai baht . I chose a rock climbing school called King Climbers, which is one of the oldest and most professional rock climbing schools in Railay Beach. I arrived at their office at 8:30 in the morning, filled out some forms, and rented a pair of climbing shoes and a helmet. Then, I took a long-tail boat with my instructor and several other students to the climbing site. We first practiced some basic climbing skills on a relatively gentle rock wall, such as how to use climbing shoes, how to grip the rocks, how to maintain balance, and so on. My mentor is an experienced climber, and he patiently taught us and gave us a lot of encouragement. I was a little nervous and scared at first, but gradually I relaxed and felt that climbing is actually very interesting and challenging. We practiced on the first rock wall for about an hour, and then we switched to a higher and steeper one. There are many different routes on this rock wall, some easy and some difficult. I chose a route of medium difficulty and prepared to challenge myself. I started climbing up the rock wall, paying attention to my instructor's instructions and looking for suitable hand and footholds. I tried to stick to the rock wall as closely as possible, relying more on the strength of my thighs and saving the strength of my arms every time I lifted one foot. I also had to keep an eye on the route, think about where I would go next, and then move my hands and feet to the corresponding points. During the process of rock climbing, I encountered many difficulties and setbacks. Sometimes I couldn't find a suitable point, sometimes I lost my balance, and sometimes I felt powerless. But every time, I didn't give up, but persisted. My mentor and other students also gave me a lot of support and encouragement, making me feel not alone. In the end, I successfully reached the top of the rock wall and saw the beautiful sea view and sky. It is a pier bridge amidst beautiful nature, surrounded by mangrove forests. Wherever you look, you will see the magnificent beauty of nature that has been created in various ways. The highlights that Songfah Sai Thai brings to you when we stand at this pier, wherever you look, you will see the beauty of nature that is diverse and different according to its physical characteristics. Look to the east and on the left, you will see Ao Nam Mao Beach, a naturally beautiful sandy beach. The houses of the community are distant. Look straight ahead, you will see rocks and trees. The mangrove forest is lined up in the distance. Look to the right, you will see the indigo sea with a small island that can be seen vaguely at the end of the line. Sharing a wonderful #tripmoment to Krabi, Thailand. This time, I decided to explore Krabi outside of the mainland. Railay Beach is a very short boat ride away, and what a hidden gem it was! (Boat ride details at the end of this post) The boat ride lasted for less than 15 minutes. It was quick and smooth. At Railay Beach, one can find calm, cooling, and clear waters, as well as fine and pristine sand. There are lots of Instagram-worthy spots, especially with the picturesque rows of long boats and cliffs hanging over the blue waters. This beach is much less crowded than Aonang Beach, so I recommend committing a full day to this visit. There are many stalls nearby with great food options, so just grab your swimsuit and sunblock and you're good to go. Getting There - Get a ride on the long boat from the main walking street of Aonang Beach. It costs 100 THB one-way and operates from 8am to 6pm. After 6pm, it'll cost 150 THB. Attractions - Pristine beach! Go up to the viewpoint if you have time. I spent my 4 days vacation at Railay. This place is full of peace, beautiful natures and lively people. I hope that you aren’t bored already of the paradise called Railay Beach. Me and my gf were not :) As we loved this place so much, we decided to stay there for 3 nights in total. Beside swimming in the emerald green ocean, we explored the whole peninsula by foot and were just so surprised by the beauty around every corner. As I told you in the previous post already, we headed to the beautiful Railay Beach peninsula in Krabi. The peninsula is known for its crazy looking limestones and turquoise beaches. The area is quite busy at daytime, but when you come to the beaches early in the morning you are as good as alone. That’s what we did. You can see how beautiful it looked there for sunrise. After some days in Phuket it was time for us to explore what the south of Thailand had to offer in terms of nature as well. We decided to head further south for the first stop of our trip and ended up in the district called Krabi. Krabi is a wonderful place with beautiful beaches and it’s the perfect point to explore the islands small Islands around Phuket.
