Qinghefang Ancient Street in Hangzhou
#ancienttown
Qinghefang is a cool spot in Hangzhou, known for its ancient vibes. It’s an old street that’s been around since the Southern Song Dynasty. Imagine walking down a street where the buildings have seen centuries go by! Here, you can explore historical shops, visit century-old shops like Wangxingji Fan Store, Zhangxiaoquan Scissors, and Huqingyutang Pharmacy. These places offer a glimpse into traditional Chinese craftsmanship and medicine. Take a stroll and admire the well-preserved buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The architecture alone is worth the visit.
This place is packed with traditional shops, teahouses, and restaurants. You can find all sorts of local goodies and get a real taste of Hangzhou’s history and culture. It’s like stepping back in time while still being in the heart of the city.

Outlook of the shop is sufficient enough to attract your attention, it also comes with music and also smoke that make the entire shop really blend into the cave theme.

The street also offers shop that sells souvenirs and also candies, please be ready to spend all your money here! 😋
We also came here in the morning but thought that night view is much more prettier, therefore recommend everyone to come at night!

Hangzhou Old Town Walk
Hangzhou, a charming city nestled in China, is a true haven for those seeking to slow down and embrace life at a leisurely pace. The old town street, with its timeless allure, encapsulates the essence of tranquility. Strolling through its cobbled pathways, you'll be transported to a bygone era, where time seems to stand still.
As the modern world races on, Hangzhou offers a respite from the bustling chaos, encouraging visitors to savor each moment and appreciate the simple joys of life. The gentle flow of the West Lake, surrounded by lush greenery and picturesque pavilions, invites contemplation and serenity.
In this city, the rhythm of life slows down, allowing you to savor the delicate flavors of local cuisine, indulge in traditional tea ceremonies, and connect with the warm-hearted locals. Whether you explore ancient temples, admire the graceful architecture, or meander along the historic streets, you'll be charmed by the authenticity and tranquility that permeates the atmosphere.
Hangzhou's essence lies in its ability to encourage you to appreciate the present, to breathe in the fresh air, and to find contentment in the little things. So, if you yearn to escape the hustle of the modern world and embrace a more relaxed way of life, Hangzhou is the perfect destination to unwind, reflect, and experience the art of slowing down.#本地遊 #hangzhoutrip

The famous street in Hangzhou
🏯Qinghefang Ancient Street is one of the oldest streets and is also a well-reserved historic street in Hangzhou city.
It thrived during the Song Dynasty and considered one of the wealthy cities in the ancient time. Many famous stores located along this ancient street. It is best to have a local tour guide so that you can walk to the shops and understand their traditional trade passing down through generations.

Hefang Street: Where Culture meets history ✨
#visithangzhou The street was built during the Southern Song Dynasty, a time when Hangzhou was the capital of Zhejiang Province.
The street is a popular attraction in Hangzhou filled with shops offering traditional snacks and food 🍜 as well as the famous Longjing tea 🍵 . This is also the perfect place to shop for Chinese style gifts 🪭 and souvenirs 🎐
It’s also a beautiful place for gazing at artisans at work with various types of traditional Chinese handicrafts 🖌️ such as calligraphy, paper cutting, painting 🖼️
Hefang street is also home to so many coffee shops ☕️ which are great spots to take a break from walking around. I also recommend checking out Hu Qing Tang, the biggest TCM pharmacy established since 1987 🫚

Well-preserved street of the ancient city
Qinghefang Ancient Street has been the most flourished street in the city since the ancient time. During the Southern Song Dynasty (1127 - 1279 AD), Qinghefang with lots of shops, restaurants and teahouses was the center of politics, culture and commerce in the city. After so many years, it is still a prosperous business area. Many famous century-old shops are located in this ancient street.
There are many traditional snacks selling in the sections. Do try it out if you have the chance.
Apart from these, there are many other places to visit, such as Tai He Cha Lou (Taihe Teahouse), Weng Long Sheng Cha Hao (Weng long sheng Teahouse), Guanfu Museum, Ancient Ceramics Museum and World Coin Museum among others.

These pictures are from the Qinghefang Ancient Street in Hangzhou.
It’s an old street with beautiful old buildings and lots of opportunities to buy gifts, drink a hot tee or just to walk around the streets.
If you want to do some more hiking, on the other side of the street is a big park with temples.

Nestled in the heart of Hangzhou, Qinghefang Ancient Street (河坊街) is a vibrant hub where history and modernity meet. Known for its well-preserved architecture and bustling atmosphere, this historic street offers a glimpse into traditional Chinese culture alongside a delightful array of street foods and artisanal crafts.
One of the must-try delicacies here is the fermented black tofu. Known for its bold flavor and unique aroma, this local favorite is fried to crispy perfection and served with a drizzle of spicy or savory sauce. Though the smell may be an acquired taste for some, its rich, umami-packed flavor is sure to win over adventurous foodies.
Another crowd-pleaser is the lamb skewers, freshly grilled over open flames and seasoned with a blend of cumin and chili powder. Juicy, tender, and perfectly spiced, these skewers are a mouthwatering treat that pairs wonderfully with the lively ambiance of Qinghefang’s busy streets.
In addition to the street food, Qinghefang is dotted with shops selling everything from handcrafted souvenirs and tea to traditional Chinese medicines. The street is also home to numerous teahouses where you can enjoy a cup of Hangzhou’s famous Longjing tea while soaking in the historical surroundings.
As you stroll through Qinghefang, take time to admire its ancient architecture, which dates back to the Song Dynasty. The wooden facades, red lanterns, and cobblestone streets create a nostalgic atmosphere, transporting visitors to a bygone era.
Whether you're here to savor unique dishes, shop for local crafts, or simply soak in the cultural charm, Qinghefang Ancient Street is an unmissable destination for anyone visiting Hangzhou. Recommended👍Must-try in Hangzhou--Jiu Jia Li||It's no wonder it's the best in Hefang Street, Hangzhou. I've been here countless times for Hangbang cuisine.
The decor is antique, as if you're in a picturesque Jiangnan water town.
✨Dishes:
🦐Iron pot baked shrimp, a must-order every time. The shrimp is chewy and has a strong garlic flavor.
🥩Chili fried meat, I like this kind of fried meat. The chili is crispy, a great side dish.
🍰Ice cream creme brulee, the combination of ice and fire. The soft bread and dense ice cream are combined to create a rich taste.

Hefang Street.
Hefang Street, originally known as Xunxuan Street and Zhuzhai Street, is a pedestrian street located in the Shangcheng District of Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. The middle section of Hefang Street is part of the Qinghefang Historical and Cultural Street and Lane Scenic Area. During the Shaoxing period of the Southern Song Dynasty (1131-1162), Hangzhou City expanded eastward to the west of the Donghe River, and a new gate was set up near the bamboo chair lane on Wangjiang Road. To the west, the West Gate was abandoned and Qianhu Gate (now located at the southwestern foot of Yunju Mountain) and Qingbo Gate were set up. The state government was moved to the site of Jingyin Temple (now near the lotus pond) to the north of Qingbo Gate. Important central government offices such as the Secretariat, the Censorate, and the Grain and Materials Department, as well as the residences of royal relatives, officials, and nobles, were located in the streets and Qingbo Gate area of later generations. There were many shops on Hefang Street, and it was even more prosperous. The middle section of Hefang Street is known as Qinghefang, which is the main road connecting the Zongyang Palace of Emperor Gaozong of Song and Lin'an Prefecture.

Qinghefang, a thousand-year-old street in Jiangnan.
With a long history, the old street was built during the Jianyan period of the Southern Song Dynasty. The prime minister Zhang Jun was named the King of Qinghe County, and he built the Qinghe County King's Mansion on Hefang Street, so this area is called Qinghefang. Strolling along Qinghefang, you can see bluestone roads, white walls and black tiles, and flying eaves and carved windows. There are century-old shops, folk stalls, celebrity residences, and historical relics. The entire old street is full of the market culture of the Southern Song Dynasty Imperial City.

I went to Hangzhou for a trip = find a good homestay, order takeout, and sleep a lot
I stayed in three homestays in Hangzhou, and this one was the most satisfying. I love the decoration style! When you open the curtains, it's all green outside, which makes the travel mood especially niceee! It's near West Lake! It's very convenient to go to Temple, Street, Song Imperial Street...
The room is very big and comfortable! And it's very clean! Bathtub, projector, big bed, sofa, fireplace... The public area is very large, with a fitness area, reception area, and you can also have afternoon tea, take photos, and check in everywhere!
The service is also very considerate. After staying for one day, I extended my stay for another 3 nights! Very satisfied!
