Taman Ayun Temple, Bali

One of the famous Balinese temples located close to Denpasar. Covered as a part of a day tour to North Bali. The temple is nestled between wonderful greenery. At the back of the garden are wonderful pristine gardens where you can spend some moments in solitude.
The setting itself is beautiful; the quality of the craftsman and meticulous attention to detail of the temples, archways, statues and pagodas are simply breathtaking and every single feature of the temple feels exact, purposeful and placed with exquisite care and respect. It definitely helps that the temple grounds felt a lot quieter than others we'd previously visited in Bali; despite being situated off a main road, the second you enter the Temple grounds you feel this wave of calm and tranquillity wash over you.

My wife's friends came over to Singapore for Holiday. They also wanted to go Bali Indonesia and thus, we planned and off we went.
During the trip there, we booked a driver to bring us around. On one of the days, he brought us to Taman Ayun Temple. It was quite a big beautiful place with the traditional architectural features, pond and courtyards. I strongly recommend tourists to come here.

A serene place, lesser known temple in Bali.
It is a combination of temple (Pura, in local language) and garden, which was built in 1600s by Mengwi Kingdom ruler. It is preserved rather nicely and still looking beautiful until today.
It only took 1 hour to visit the whole area + watched the movie about Taman Ayun’s history, also while taking lots of photos.
Tips: wear long pants / skirt or they will lend you a local sarong to wear.
Address: Jl. Ayodya No.10, Kabupaten Badung, Bali (around 30mins from Canggu or Ubud; 40mins from Seminyak).
Getting There: take a taxi / bike ride.
Entrance Ticket: IDR 15k for locals / IDR 30k for foreigners (USD1-2)

The Serene Beauty of Taman Ayun Temple, Bali
Taman Ayun Temple, located in Mengwi, Bali, is a masterpiece of traditional Balinese architecture and spiritual harmony. Translating to “Garden Temple in the Water,” this site exudes a tranquil charm, making it one of the most picturesque temples on the island.
Surrounded by a serene moat, the temple appears to float, creating a peaceful and idyllic atmosphere. The beautifully landscaped gardens, adorned with blooming flowers and manicured lawns, invite visitors to wander and soak in the natural beauty. As you stroll through the temple grounds, you’ll notice the intricate carvings and towering multi-tiered shrines, or merus, which reflect Bali’s unique Hindu culture.
One of the most enchanting aspects of Taman Ayun is its peaceful ambiance. Unlike the busier temples in Bali, it often feels like a hidden gem where you can enjoy the serenity undisturbed. The surrounding lotus ponds, complete with graceful water lilies, enhance the sense of calm and spirituality.
Whether you’re a history buff, a photography enthusiast, or simply seeking a moment of peace, Taman Ayun Temple is a destination that will leave you enchanted. It’s a testament to Bali’s artistic brilliance and spiritual depth,#temple making it a must-visit for anyone exploring the island.

Taman Ayun Temple
cilantro
Bali - it has all the elements
Temples, hot springs, volcanoes
Offshore islands, surfing, going out to sea
Snorkeling, deep diving, crab boats
Watching the sunrise and sunset
Photographing dolphins playing in the water
There's no lack of cool and warm colors
There's no shortage of culture and nature
This is Bali
This island located in the southern part of Indonesia
Located in the southern hemisphere
Near the equator
The climate is warm, needless to say
It's a great place to spend the winter and summer
Mount Agung is the highest peak locally
Nearly three thousand meters above sea level
Active volcano
The most recent eruption was in 2019
Quite active
Sitting on the volcano viewing platform and having a simple meal is also a unique experience
Of course, usually, people go to Mount Batur
Bali itself is not big
But it is more recommended to rent a car for travel
After all, the public transportation system is not as convenient and developed as in our country
The usual car rental routes will go to the Sea God Temple, Mother God Temple, and Holy Spring Temple
Take a look at the local temple style
Visit the rituals and believers
In addition, it should be mentioned
The main island of Indonesia believes in Islam
While this place in Bali believes in Hinduism
After visiting the temples, go to Ubud
Take a look at the local palace
Market and rural scenery
The accommodation here is usually villa type
Cheap and plentiful
Highly recommended to stay for a day or two
Then head north to Lovina
Chasing dolphins frolicking and jumping
Accompanied by the leisure time of sunrise and sunset
Then return to Denpasar (the capital)
Surf at Kuta Beach
Watch the sunset
Stroll around the bustling city
If you have time, you can also stay in Nusa Dua for a few nights
This is a high-end hotel concentration area
Vehicle security checks will be conducted when entering the area
It's the highest security level I've seen in Bali
Here you can see the extremely beautiful cliff scenery
Undisturbed private beaches, etc.
Of course
Depending on the schedule
You can also go to the offshore islands
Blue Dream Island
The seascape here is even more top-notch
And the most famous "Devil's Tears"
Be careful
Every year these tears are "devouring" those who have no respect for the sea
Blue Dream Island is even smaller
Travel on the island is all by renting motorcycles
Take a look at the seaweed fields
Look at Mount Agung in the distance
It's great
So Bali is a place suitable for all ages
Leave enough time
You can still have a comfortable time

Pura Taman Ayun * A UNESCO World Cultural Site
#newyearadventure
Featuring an immense temple ground of waterscapes and landscapes, Pura Taman Ayun is one of the six royal temples in Bali. Located approximately 17km from Ubud and an hour plus drive from Denpasar, the temple's cultural and spiritual importance dates back to the Mengwi Empire.
It is a beautiful temple with intricate stories woven onto the architecture and space sequences. We enjoyed walking the temple grounds.
As there were no public transportation to the temple, we hired a private van that brought us to a few places and made the booking prior to our arrival.
** Visitors must wear appropriate clothings such as sarong or a sash.
