The view from the Tentozan Observatory was completely obscured by fog, so I could only step on the 44th parallel north.
I didn't go into the Okhotsk Ryuhyo Museum, I just went up to the rooftop Tentozan Observatory.
It was so foggy at the Tentozan Observatory that I couldn't see anything 🙈.
I could only take a photo on the 44th parallel north outside the museum.

Ryūhyō Museum
#thingstodo For those interested in the sea angel (clione) and learning about drift ice, this museum is worth a visit. Although it's not a large museum, the exhibits are informative and engaging.
The museum offers a theatre that shows a documentary about drift ice with subtitles in different languages, including English. You can also explore several small aquariums featuring sea creatures from the Okhotsk Sea and visit an ice room where you can swing a towel and witness it freeze, which is a unique and enjoyable experience.
The observatory deck can be accessed without purchasing a ticket and you can enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the Okhotsk Sea, with drift ice stretching out for several kilometers. The majestic Shiretoko mountain range serves as a dramatic backdrop, completing the breathtaking scenery.
If you're a fan of salted caramel flavor, you'll love the ice cream sold on the first floor - it's absolutely delicious!
Overall, I recommend this museum to anyone who wants to learn more about drift ice and see some incredible sea creatures, particularly the cute and charming sea angel.

Okhotsk Ryūhyō Museum
#thingstodo A great museum to learn about the wildlife and drift ice of the area. Many displays have English, including the professionally-produced video. There is a drift ice experience room, where they keep the temperature well below freezing and give you a damp towel which you can swing around and see what funny shape it freezes in. The small aquarium also functions as a 3D video screen that the staff can operate (you can ask them to show you if it's not busy); you can see a diver's science excursion in the sea. The free observation deck upstairs has a nice view, and the ice cream from the cafe is a light salt-caramel flavor

Okhotsk Ryuhyokan in Hokkaido, eat salty ice cream and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
During your self-driving trip to Hokkaido, when you come to the coast of Okhotsk, you might as well consider stopping at the Okhotsk Drift Ice Museum to have a salty and fragrant ice cream and enjoy the beautiful view from the top floor. The Okhotsk Drift Ice Museum has a space to experience the ice at minus 15 degrees Celsius and introduce drift ice creatures, but I think the most worthwhile thing is the observation deck on the top floor, overlooking the beautiful scenery of the coast.

Nets in the Okhotsk Ice Museum
When I came to the net, when the ice was not formed, the icebreaker couldnt sit naturally. It was a comfort to the Okhotsk Ice Museum. At the foot of Tiandu Mountain, the venue is not big, starting from the basement level. First go to the small theater to watch a film about drifting ice, use five screens to show the growth of drifting ice, sit too close and feel a little dizzy.
Get out of the auditorium and show off the introduction of the science of ice formation. The magic in the biological sink is a small creature called "The Ice Angel", which is transparent, with a red part of the body and the head, in the water. It seems like a little angel flapping his wings as he wanders. In fact, this is a kind of unsealed conch, which usually lives in the low-temperature waters such as the Arctic Ocean, the Southern Ocean, and the Bering Sea. During the winter, there will be ice-skating in the Sea of Okhotsk, and in the spring, it will leave the coast with the drifting ice. Then came to the body of the ice body, and stored the natural drift ice in the room of minus 15 degrees. If you feel cold, you can rent a winter clothes, but in a short time, it is actually good.
In the open-air observatory, you can enjoy the panoramic view of the Tiandu Mountain, but it is closed due to poor weather. On the second floor there is a restaurant and lounge, on the first floor is the reception and shops, recommending ice cream! Too taste, joined the sea salt of Okhotsk, blue is the natural pigment from seaweed, very special.
