Beautiful sunset in Oia 🏙️
#bestsunset
Watching the sunset in Oia, Santorini, is an experience that feels almost surreal! I arrived early to grab a good spot along the cliffside, as it can get crowded, especially in peak season. The view of the sun slowly sinking into the Aegean Sea with the iconic whitewashed buildings and blue domes in the foreground was absolutely breathtaking 🌅. And the best part? It’s free! You don’t need to pay any entrance fee, just find a cozy spot and take it all in.
Nearby, Oia offers charming little boutiques, cafes, and art galleries to explore after sunset. I also recommend checking out Ammoudi Bay below for a seafood dinner—it’s a short hike but well worth it. Whether you’re sipping wine or snapping photos, the sunset here is pure magic and the perfect way to end a day in Santorini.

Santorini 3-Day Charm: Exploring Blue Domed Churches and Island Beauty
📍Oia Town
Oia is the second largest town on Santorini Island, known for its blue and white churches and traditional windmills. The blue and white houses blend seamlessly with the Aegean Sea, creating a romantic atmosphere. It is a famous honeymoon destination, and in the evening, many people gather at the sunset viewpoint to watch the sun slowly disappear below the horizon. 🌅✨
📍Blue Domed Church
The Blue Domed Church is a landmark of Santorini, with the most famous being the Church of Panagia between Fira and Firostefani. The church is small and exquisite, perched on a seaside hillside. From Fira, you can see the classic combination of white buildings, blue domes, and the azure sea. It is a must-visit spot for backpackers and a classic backdrop for wedding photos. 📸💒
📍Fira Town
Fira is the capital of Santorini, built on the edge of a volcano. The white walls and deep blue roofs blend with the sky and sea, creating a spectacular view. It is the commercial and tourist center of Santorini, with many hotels and convenient transportation. It is also the transit hub for buses to Oia, the Black Beach, and the Red Beach. 🏙️🚌
📍Santorini Island
The Blue Domed Churches, white alleys, colorful beaches, and azure bays make up the picturesque Santorini Island. Enjoy the world's most beautiful sunset in Oia, make romantic vows by the Aegean Sea, and ride a donkey to experience the local customs. 🏝️🌄
📍Red Beach
Red Beach is located next to Akrotiri on the southern end of Santorini and is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. It features large areas of red bare rock formed from the deep red rocks behind the beach. The red volcanic rock is relatively light, and fragments can only settle in places with gentle waves. 🌋🏖️
📍Lighthouse
Located at the southernmost tip of Santorini, the lighthouse is an excellent spot for watching the sunset and sea views. The lighthouse is fenced off and cannot be entered, but it can be admired and photographed from different angles. There are many cliffs and strange rocks near the lighthouse. If you don't mind the sun, you can stay here longer to climb and enjoy the scenery. For adventure lovers, you can walk along the cliff path to the edge, where the view is beyond imagination! 🌅🗺️
Suggested Itinerary 🚗:
📍Day 1 - Oia Town --> Blue Domed Church --> Fira Town
📍Day 2 - Santorini Island
📍Day 3 - Kamari --> Red Beach --> Lighthouse
always on the way
The sunset in Santorini is a unique romance of the Aegean Sea
📍Greece, Santorini
Although Santorini has been heavily criticized by tourists, with many warning posts, we were still amazed on our first visit to Santorini. Whether it's the scenery or the service facilities, it surpasses all the 'little Santorinis'. This blue and white domed architectural complex built along the mountain has not yet found a city or town that can replace it.
‼️However, the shortcomings of Santorini must also be mentioned:
1. The public bus system is very chaotic, and the timetable is not integrated into Google Maps. However, you can get a paper timetable as soon as you get off the plane, which is generally accurate, with a margin of error of 10 minutes early or late. At popular attractions like Fira and Oia, you won't miss the bus. The roads are dusty, and people drive recklessly, making it unfriendly for non-self-driving tourists.
2. Accommodation in Fira and Oia is generally expensive, with restaurants offering good views costing at least 50💶 per person.
3. It's hot and sunny!
💡In summary, here is a suitable itinerary for summer and some photo spots:
1️⃣ Around 9 am, take Bus 10 from Santorini Bus Stop in Fira to Oia, which takes about 25 minutes.
2️⃣ The classic angle in Oia is the Picturesque Blue Dome Santorini (p12). In the afternoon, it's backlit, and around 11 am, you can take a photo after waiting for about 10 minutes. Walk along the main road of the town to the Windmill of Oia, which is a photo spot for the windmill. Both are in Oia.
3️⃣ Have lunch in Oia and take the bus back to Fira around 14:20.
4️⃣ It's recommended to rest at your accommodation until around 19:00 before going out. The light is good at that time, and the temperature has dropped. Fira itself is not very big.
5️⃣ Half an hour before sunset, you can walk to the I Love Santorini area, where the whole road is lined with sunset viewing platforms.
6️⃣ After sunset, you can slowly walk along the road to Viewpoint Fira at night, where the lights gradually come on during the blue hour.
7️⃣ Walk to the Santorini Cable Car - Upper Station, and it will be completely dark by then.
💡Here are two more photo spots where you can capture the sunset with the blue-domed church:
1. Three Bells of Fira iconic viewpoint
2. View point (Top view)
Both are a bit far, so consider accordingly.

Santorini, Mykonos and Athens Escape
From Istanbul we took a short trip over to Santorini, Mykonos & Athen.
Santorini is a unique island, the combination of the scenery and views, atmosphere and ambiance, the architecture, the incredible food, the strong light all in all is so special. It is slightly crowded, however walking around gives you a fairy-tale feeling.
Mykonos is a small town that you will get lost during your trip. Wandering around the narrow alleys is like a maze. It is interesting, you will find new places of interest every time you walk into this town.
Athens, This place is rich in its architecture & culture.

Escape to Santorini's Caldera Views
As I stood on the edge of the mesmerizing Santorini Caldera in the delightful town of Oia, I was captivated by the enchanting views that unfolded before my eyes. The white-washed buildings cascading down the cliffside, adorned with colorful bougainvillea, created a picture-perfect setting that seemed to be straight out of a dream.
Exploring the narrow winding streets of Oia, I stumbled upon hidden gems, boutique shops, and charming cafes that beckoned me to sit and soak in the stunning scenery. The local cuisine was a treat for my taste buds, with fresh seafood and delectable Greek delicacies leaving me craving for more.
Sunsets in Santorini are legendary, and I was lucky enough to witness one from the famous Oia Castle. As the sky turned into a canvas of vibrant hues, I could feel a sense of peace and tranquility wash over me. It was a moment that I will cherish for a lifetime.
For those planning a visit to Santorini, I recommend exploring beyond Oia as well. The island offers breathtakingly beautiful beaches, such as the Red Beach and Kamari Beach, where you can unwind and bask in the Mediterranean sun. Exploring the ancient ruins of Akrotiri and visiting the traditional wineries to taste the renowned Santorini wine are also must-do experiences.
However, it's important to note that the popularity of Santorini means that it gets crowded, especially during peak tourist season. To avoid the crowds, consider visiting during the shoulder seasons or planning your activities early in the morning.
In conclusion, my trip to Santorini's Caldera Views in Oia was nothing short of magical. From the awe-inspiring views to the delectable cuisine, this destination truly lives up to its reputation as a paradise on earth. So, pack your bags, leave your worries behind, and embark on an unforgettable journey to Santorini's Caldera Views. #SantoriniEscape #BreathtakingViews #GreekParadise

Between blue and white, the land of gods | Santorini, Greece
Come and see the holy island🏖️
Santorini is most famous for its sunset🌄
The sunset bathes the entire holy island in golden light
Sitting on the roof watching the sunset, a little cat suddenly came by my side🐈
It rubbed against me and then snuggled up next to me
Because of its company, the wind of the Aegean Sea has added a bit of romance
The photos were taken in the town of Oia📸
Greece in February is off-season, basically no one, your company is probably some cats and dogs, but the photos are very good!! If it's not windy, a thick coat is enough for the weather in the teens. Local taxis can't swipe cards, remember to bring some cash. By the way, the daytime may disappoint you, but the scenery is really beautiful at sunset🎨 If you book a homestay with an outdoor hot spring, soaking in the hot spring and looking at the starry sky above your head is really so happy🥰

The White city
#greece #santorini
Everybody has seen those famous blue roofs but not many people know it’s Oia city on Santorini island.
A labyrinth of narrow streets invites you to have a walk in The White city, where so many Greek sunsets were filmed. Not only it’s literally white but also has many patches of colorful spots consisting of blooming trees and painted facades.
Definitely worth visiting. Just better avoid the summertime heat and go during low season. 😉

THE VACATIONER!
Oia is a wonderful coastal town on the northwestern tip of Santorini, a Greek Aegean island. You can reach here by the local bus at Fira bus station 12 kilometers away for around €1.60 and it takes around 30 minutes.
The town had whitewashed houses carved into the rugged clifftops, and overlooks a vast caldera filled with water. Walking along the narrow streets and alleys, visitors will come across a number of small cafes and boutiques.
The whole village is lined with pretty little churches, windmills and gleaming white houses that make a lot of spots a good photoshoot.

Colors of Santorini
An island in the Aegean Sea with stunning views, beautiful color tones and iconic blue and white buildings.
From my perspective, there are two best ways to enjoy the island:
- if you want the see and experience as much as you can during your stay - purchase tours with guide and local transport
- if you want to do whatever you want whenever you want and don’t mind missing a thing or two - rent a car
We opted for the second one and would do that again. It’s really not much of a challenge to find stunning places in Santorini. However, without a car or arranged transport, it’s rather complicated going places, as public transport is not very developed on the island.
Keep in mind that driving can be challenging on the island, and much of the people in the traffic come from all over the world, thus having different driving habits. Drive carefully, stay safe and have a great time.
Oh! And food there is simply awesome..

Sunset in Oia, Santorini
One the most stunning views I have ever witnessed ✨
Everyone who goes to Santorini island will try to catch this special moment on the highest point of Oia.
The typical greek scenary with white houses and blue roofs turns spectacular during sunset 🌅
At this time of the day it gets crowded exactly for this reason.
Tourists will look for the best spot to enjoy the show and right after sunset will go for dinner. So you better have already booked a table somewhere! 🍝
I fell in love with this atmosphere and will never forget it.
I surely put Santorini in my top 5 best destinations 💙
Who else can't get enough of this view?

Oia is the most beautiful village of Santorini that recently started looking like a glamorous town, every day gathering thousands of people longing for seeing the famous Oia sunsets. If you have time to visit just one place in the island – choose Oia. That’s what you’ve been dreaming of for so many years looking at the pictures of the white churches with bright blue domes. Oia is famous for its chic and expensive restaurants and a great shopping, too. The truth is that in this town you can find all the beautiful, quality, expensive and exclusive goods. Santorini is being visited by all the famous and important personalities of the whole world regularly, therefore every expensive world famous brand is presented here. This town hosts an incredible number of hotels, although most of them you do not notice thinking these are just the houses of the locals. The whole place is built along the Cliffside. Do not expect to swim in the sea if you stay here – the beaches are located on a different, flat side of the island.

If travel is like love, it is, in the end, mostly because it's a heightened state of awareness, in which we are mindful, receptive, undimmed by familiarity and ready to be transformed. That is why the best trips, like the best love affairs, never really end. Surround yourself 💕

Greece and especially Santorini is one of the most photogenic destinations on earth. Every corner is so pretty, food is delicious and nothing can beat European summer.

The town of Oia is located on the island of #santorini in #greece and is famous with the sunsets. Every evening right before the sunset many people come here to watch it. The architecture is also very notable and strange. It is pretty different even than other greek islands. The island is easily accessible by plane.

We loved spending time walking around the gorgeous island of Santorini thru the little narrow streets and market places for the best shopping in a lifetime

Santorini's life-long blue and white main attractions are the three blue-roofed churches of the Oia town. The best location for the sunset, the cliffs of the best cave hotel and anything in town of Santorini. This town is also a transportation hub. If you do not rent a car or charter a bus, you should sit here and book a place. Get a good place at a restaurant. The restaurant with a great view with the sunset needs to be booked in advance because of the heavenly views. It seems that there are many people waiting in Oia town every day. At the end of the sunrise and sunset, everyone is applauding and celebrating.

Forty minutes along the south of Oia town, until you can see the coast, the sunshine here is more gentle than anywhere else, the scenery of the coastline is another chic beauty, the coastal villas living here, no The bustling of tourists, there is no selling and quarreling, quiet is not like the real world.
In the evening, you are sitting on the west side, watching one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world, accompanying your lover until the end of time!

Into the pure blue and white world, enjoy the most romantic St. Tony trip
the brightest pearl of the Aegean Sea, Plato's free land - St. Tony Island, where the world's most beautiful Sunset, the most magnificent sea, and the blue sky of Santorini in your mind.
Sunshine, blue sky, blue sea, and the unique white house here is the deepest impression left by Saint Tony. On the island, you can wander around the harbor and the village, take a boat to the volcanic island, eat barbecue at the Aegean Sea, and watch the most beautiful sunset in the world in Oia...
lenka.
The town of Oia at the northern end of Santorini has the "world's most beautiful sunset" and is also known as the most beautiful town in Greece. The town of Oia is not in accordance with the rules, and it is not suitable for reminiscence, just here, Even the wind is blowing with a fresh and romantic atmosphere. Situated on the edge of the Aegean Sea, this white cottage offers a beautiful view of the beautiful Aegean Sea. Passing through the Romanesque arches, through the layers of white cave houses, it looks like soft marshmallows, and it doesn't feel the sweetness of the mouth. The blue-hued church is always reminiscent of a white wedding dress and a white suit. Perhaps the most romantic thing is that looks like, under the blue church, the blue Aegean Sea has taken a vow.
Lemon Zhao.
We had our honeymoon in Santorini, Greece. My favorite is Oia Town, which is the second largest town in Santorini, and has a slightly commercial flavor. Unlike the town of Fira, the main purpose of most visitors is to enjoy the sunset. It is said that there is the most beautiful sunset in the world, and you can see that "the sunset falls into the Aegean Sea."
Whenever the sun sets, visitors will always come and find a place to watch the sunset and sit quietly for an hour. Watching the sun slowly fall and disappear into the horizon, there is only a blush left on the sea. The afterglow of the whole world is quiet. Visitors can't help but clap their hands and applaud this beautiful sunset. There are two platforms on the western side of the town, one is a seaside platform similar to the beacon tower, and the other is a small square under the windmill, both of which are the best places to watch the sunset.

Depart from Hong Kong and fly to dreamy Santorini! ✈️🇭🇰🇬🇷 Looking forward to the blue and white coast during the flight, I was extremely excited. After arriving, I took a minibus to Oia. The scenery along the way was so picturesque, with the sea and hills intertwining, it was so beautiful.
Stroll along the narrow streets and feel the breeze and sunshine. For lunch, I tasted a fresh seafood platter at a local restaurant, paired with local white wine. The taste was unparalleled! 🍽️🍷
In the afternoon, I visited ancient ruins and learned about the history and culture of this land. As the sun sets, the entire sky is dyed orange-red, and the sea is shimmering with golden light, which makes me fascinated! 🌅❤️ Every moment was full of romance and surprise, this trip will stay in my heart forever!
