We first went late in the evening and were disappointed that most shops were already closed by 7pm, so we went back on our last day in Kyoto around noon, and the street was packed with people. We tried some tempura, pickled cucumbers, and bought some Japanese honey and herbal teas. #thingstodo Well, this is a touristy market for sure but it is worth visiting for the vibe and the food. Some of the foods are truly legit. My all-time favorite is the tofu shop where they made tofu donut and tofu soft serve. Such a light yet pleasant sensation from both sweets. The food stalls selling seafood look amazing too. Very cool spot for traditional Japanese food shopping.

I found a truck where there wasn't a queue, and that was suspicious, I thought at first it wasn't that good, but I got the best wagyu skewer! Prices can be high somewhere since it's a popular tourist attraction, but you can leave with a full stomach if you take a couple of things, spending a fair amount of money. I wish to go back here in 2024

You can say that you can buy everything in one visit. At the end of the market, there is also a shrine where you can go to pray for blessings. The food is quite fresh and the market is very clean. If you go in the morning, there are not many tourists, so you can walk comfortably. The food prices are not expensive. I personally think that the prices are about the same as the Kuromon Fish Market in Osaka.
