If you are a teacher, bring your school ID and you can get a discounted ticket! 🖼️ Singapore's National Gallery is home to the largest collection of Southeast Asian art in the world! The building itself is the former Supreme Court and City Hall buildings, allowing for plenty of space and beautiful architecture. Get Lost in National Gallery Singapore 🇸🇬
#winhkflight 📍National Gallery Singapore Stopped by at National Gallery Singapore as we were passing by that area. It is located close to the city centre, Merlion Park is just a stone’s away and you get the view of Marina Bay Sands from the national gallery as well. The building is beautiful and the whole place is very artsy! They have both permanent and limited time only exhibitions, which is lovely. Did not have the time to explore the whole gallery, as they have 6 floors, we just stopped by and take a few photos. The entire place is huge, very instagrammable and quiet, could easily spend 3-4 hours here. The ticket is sgd 20 for tourists but it is free for locals and permanent residents. Would love to revisit this place in the future! I wish to travel to Hong Kong for the food!

No. 1 Visual Arts Festival in Singapore
Light to Night Festival is an annual event in Singapore that showcases art and exhibitions from varied disciplines of art including interactive programs and installations. A favorite showcase that I always look forward to is the light projections or illuminations scattered across the civic district. Since the festival is organised by the National Gallery Singapore, the gallery usually offers free entry on weekends with extended opening hours. We went on a Wednesday night to avoid the weekend crowd. Our first agenda was to sit at the Padang and watch the illumination on the National Gallery itself. We spent a bit of time here since we didn't get to watch the start. Lots of people also bring their mats to chill around here. Every time I watch this, I get reminded of how I would want to have this festival back in my home country also. We then went to the “bubbles” installation and took way too many photos there. The installation worked well with Marina Bay Sands and National Gallery as its backdrops in photos. Another projection we always enjoy is at the Victoria Building since the façade shape is different than usual because of the tower in the middle. This is one of the festivals I'm always looking forward. Expect me to be there again next year. When going there though, consider going on weekdays as there’s fewer people going around. Video technology has long played an important role in modern art. But how did this medium arise and develop within Southeast Asia? To find out, take a trip to this exhibition at the National Gallery Singapore. The first part will run until Sep 17, while the second part is from Oct 13 to Feb 4. In this exhibition, you'll experience the emergence of video installations in the 80s and 90s and learn about the state of video technology at that time. The two parts of the exhibition will display works from a range of different artists.

The National Gallery Singapore has both free and ticketed zones to visit various art works. There are rotating exhibitions. In the free zone, you can visit the architecture inside the building, including some exhibition rooms (on the day we went, about 4 rooms were open, which was sooo worth it). The interior is very beautiful, especially the highlights such as the central hall with long stairs on both sides, or the 3rd floor, which is a dome in the building where we can take pictures (it was closed on the day we went🥲). Or you can go in and see the different art works in each room. It was so much fun to look at. #singapore A very interesting art museum where it covers exhibits for all age groups. it houses public collection of modern art from Singapore and Southeast Asia. learnt quite a fair bit of the modern art collections from here. the children can also explore art freely.. the Keppel Centre for Art Education provides avenue foe the children and adults young at heart to have hands on experiences in creating and appreciating art.

#singapore This the National Gallery Museum of Singapore, a five minutes walk from City Hall MRT station. At the top floor, there is an escalator up to the open rooftop where you can enjoy the spectacular view of the iconic Singapore buildings. You can see the Marina Bay Sands and the Singapore arts science museum. It is a perfect place to take an OOTD with a view. I went there on a weekend and there was only a small crowd seen.
