Korean Traditional Village 🎎
There's 3 hanok villages around seoul, but i bet you're not familiar with this one or you haven't heard anything about this one. Its located right in the middle of the city. You can clearly see Namsan Tower because its just next to it.
The place is called Namsangol Hanok Village. So easy to go hear, just 5 minutes walking from train station. Its not as big as Bukchon but there's not much people here so its better. There's also a beautiful pond.

Namsangol Hanok Village is a cultural and historical attraction located in the heart of Seoul. The village is a collection of traditional Korean houses, or hanoks, that have been preserved and restored to showcase the country's traditional way of life.
We strolled through the village's five restored hanoks, each representing a different social class, and learnt about the customs, lifestyle, and architecture of traditional Korea. We also tried to play the traditional games available at the compound.
This is a great place to spend some time exploring and seeing the Korean traditional village & traditional style of living and shops. It is easily accessible by the subway.

Seoul Hanok Village 'Namsangol Hanok Village'
Long ago, there was a place in Seoul where you could explore the architecture of traditional Korean houses! Let me introduce you to "Namsangol Hanok Village"! Thanks to the relocation of Hanok houses from the Joseon Dynasty and the Japanese colonial period, we can freely admire the appearance of urban houses. Moreover, there are no restrictions on taking photos, so you can use it like an outdoor studio, which is fantastic.
Each Hanok house offers various experiential activities, and when I visited, there was an art exhibition that blended perfectly with the traditional houses, which was fascinating and beautiful.
As the autumn night deepens, there is even a night opening, making it a perfect spot to visit during the upcoming Chuseok holiday!

A Glimpse into Korea's Past at Namsangol Hanok Village!
#koreatrip
I recently visited the Namsangol Hanok Village in Seoul, and it was a truly enriching experience. This charming village, nestled at the foot of Namsan Mountain, offers a fascinating glimpse into Korea's traditional past.
As I strolled through the village, I marveled at the beautifully restored hanok (traditional Korean houses), each with its own unique character and history. The village's serene atmosphere, coupled with its rich cultural heritage, made for a truly immersive experience.

Cultural experience in Namsangol~
If you fancy a sneak peak into Korean culture, head down to Namsangol Hanok Village, a short walk away from Myeongdong area.
This was the highlight of our Korea trip — dressing up in Hanboks, walking around the little “village” of traditional Korean houses, playing mini games like throwing arrows into a pot, making little trinkets from mother-of-pearl… and many more we didn’t have time for hehe. All for really cheap prices each too!! Highly recommend visiting :)

Discovering traditional hanok village with no crowds around
My favorite hanok village in Seoul is Namsangol hanok village. It is extremely easy to reach and it is perfectly located nearby Namsan tower and Myeongdong district.
The story of the village that original old traditional buildings were moved to this spot to showcase Korean history and traditional architecture. So, they are actually really old!
And it isn't a residential area, nobody lives there, so you wont feel bad about disturbing the locals.
Tip: place is closed on Mondays
One more tip: admission is free!

Tranquility of Namsangol Hanok Village in the heart of Seoul
Tiny hanok village (no worries you won't disturb any locals, this place was created to commemorate traditional and historical architecture and nobody lives in this village) is located at the foot of Namsan hill, nearby Namsan tower and is a quiet and tranquil place perfect for both exploration of Korean traditional arquitecture and simply relaxing by the pond with koi fish and ducks. Village itself is closed on Mondays but you still can sit in the park or by the pond or in one of public traditional wooden buildings. Place is super chilled and a perfect spot to rest your tired legs. #historicallandmarks #seoul #seoultravel #southkorea #hanokvillage #traditionalarchitecture #100WaysOfTravel

AESTHETIC Hanok Village in Seoul 🇰🇷
Namsangol Hanok Village is one of the best view we saw in 2023. We recommend to visit in autumn. Imagine beautiful autumn hues with N Seoul Tower as the background! Isn’t that amazing?
This is opened in 1998. This village has 5 restored hanok (traditional Korean house) premises, a pavilion, a traditional garden, a performance art stage, and a time capsule plaza. Perfect for a leisure walk.
The 5 hanok premises once belonged to aristocrats and government officials of the Joseon dynasty. You can participate in various activities such as wearing hanbok, folding hanji, writing in Korean, etc. You can also try traditional games such as yutnori.

#cherryblossom2024
Namsangol Hanok Village is one of the most distinctive tourist places.
The cherry blossoms 🌸 are blooming in early April. The view of Seoul Tower from here is amazing! The ancient village is very nice and there are many activities suitable for children to experience traditional culture, interesting and traditional festivals take place.
Many foreign guests mainly visit with their families. Therefore, it is a space with a lively atmosphere and no unnecessary noise. Entrance is free.

Superb to see how Koreans lived back in the day I love seeing this and comparing and contrasting with buildings back at home I just love how everything is the same but so different at the same time. This historical village is interactive I recall was a game where you had to throw sticks into a narrow pot extremely difficult needs some skills to get one in lol. You can also write a special message for loved ones and tie it to the moon house if I remember that name correctly. Overall a pretty cool place to pass some time in Seoul definitely recommend.

The ancient charm of Korea—Namsangol Hanok Village
The first tourist attraction I visited upon arriving in Seoul, Korea—Namsangol Hanok Village.
It is located at the foot of Namsan Mountain, and from there, you can see the N Seoul Tower in the distance.
There is a Chinese version of the tourist map available for free at the entrance. According to the introduction, this village was created by relocating five traditional Korean houses scattered throughout the city area, and it has been well restored to the original scenery of the Hanok Village. It includes both the residences of the nobles from the Joseon Dynasty and the living houses of the common people.
Bedrooms, guest rooms, kitchens, and the kimchi pots found in every household are all traditional residential facilities of Hanok and courtyards that have been fully opened to the public.
Traditional Korean festivals and a variety of traditional cultural activities are held here every month, and there are also entertainment activities such as Korean music performances, mask dances, and stick throwing games every weekend. Visitors can also participate in trying hoop rolling, making straw crafts, wearing Hanbok, tea ceremonies, traditional music teaching, and etiquette teaching for a folk experience.
The scenic area is not large and can be quickly toured. There are no restaurants or shops inside, and no accommodation is provided.
Namsangol Hanok Village, a representative of Korea's ancient charm, symbolizes the culmination of traditional Korean culture, and is a place with a very Korean flavor.

Seoul, South Korea⑤ | Joseon Dynasty Architecture - Namsangol Hanok Village
🔝After lunch, I first visited 📍Namsangol Hanok Village. To me, this place felt somewhat boring (years ago, I was not interested in Korea's historical and cultural buildings).
However, maybe if I go now, I would appreciate the different functions of the buildings, and the experience might be better during festivals with folk activities. Namsangol Hanok Village brings together 5 selected Joseon Dynasty hanoks from Seoul, which have been relocated and restored (this way of concentrating them for easy viewing is commendable), forming a very charming cultural space.
Namsangol Hanok Village has both the residences of the ruling class from the Joseon Dynasty (1392~1910) - the Yangban, and the living houses of the common people, with the scale of the houses and the arrangement of furniture completely recreating the original scene.
🏯🏯🏯The five hanoks are:
1⃣The maternal home of Queen Sunjeonghyo Yoon (the wife of the 27th king of Joseon, Sunjong. There is a widely spread story: pro-Japanese forced Sunjong to stamp the 'Korea-Japan Annexation Treaty', but the queen hid the royal seal in her skirt and refused to hand it over);
2⃣The hermitage of Haengbok Prefectural Lord Yoon Je-ro (the father-in-law of the 27th king of Joseon, Sunjong);
3⃣The residence of Vice Minister Park Yeong-hyo (the husband of Princess Wonsu, the daughter of the 25th king of Joseon, Cheoljong, and a court lady);
4⃣The residence of Master Carpenter Lee Seung-yeop (the chief carpenter and construction supervisor of one of the Joseon royal palaces, Gyeongbokgung);
5⃣The mansion of Military Officer Kim Chun-young (a military man from the Joseon era).

If you happen to be out and about, walking amid the plush green nature of Seoul, you'll want to make your way over to the Namsangol Hanok Village! Not only can you enjoy one of the many preserved spots of K-Tradition throughout the city, but you'll also have a brilliant view of the Namsan Seoul Tower standing high between the various hanok structures. Get out your camera for some memorable snapshots before heading over to the cool, refreshing shade of the pine forest 2 located in the back area of the village. For locations is 28, Toegye-ro 34-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul.

In the past few days of free travel in South Korea, I originally planned not to go to the sights. I didnt want to see the crowd in another place. I didnt want to pay for the tickets to go to the sights. I just wanted to walk on the street and approach the locals. Life, feel the human culture of this nation.
But I still came to the South Valley Hanok Village, and the first time I went to the South Valley Hanok Village was on New Year's Day. It was China's New Year's Day and South Korea's New Year's Day. Before coming to South Korea Hanok Village, I asked local friends, what is the difference between Namdae Hanok Village and Bukchon Hanok Village. My friend told me that Bukchon Hanok Village is more authentic and continues according to the real life of the local people. The South Valley Hanok Village is restored according to the profile of Hanok Village. It is built according to the attractions. Although it is an attraction, it also has many functions. It will show more Korean culture, and every major festival every year. Organize relevant public celebrations.
