Seoul's Namdaemun Market: Korean seaweed is a popular souvenir
🇰🇷 Namdaemun Market, Seoul
"Cheongju Trading Company"
🐔When I go there in the morning, they're roasting seaweed.
When I look at it, they say, "Yes, please," and let me try a sample.
It's the same everywhere, right? But when I first tried it, it was so fragrant and salty, and completely different from the nori I always bought randomly🤤✨✨
Since then, it has become my favorite, and recently I've been buying a lot here and taking it home🤭
One bag is ₩2000, and three bags are ₩5000
I'm always wondering how many to buy🤔
It's really, really delicious🥹💕
Actually, I gave them out quite a lot, but everyone was really happy with them
If you're a housewife, you can praise it even more✨👏🏻✨👏🏻✨👏🏻✨
The motto is "disappearing," so you can eat the amount quickly.
Nori is popular with everyone, and it's also reasonably priced.
It's also light, which is an appealing point. (It's a bit bulky though 🥲)
It says it will last for 1 month if refrigerated, or 1 year if frozen.
Of course, stock up on it and use it at home 😋
They also sell sesame seeds by weight and sesame oil.
I didn't buy it because of the weight, but I'd like to buy it someday 🥹
📍It's located to the left of a shop called "효자손왕만두" that sells mandu and gwabaegi in Namdaemun Market.
You'll probably understand if you go there (lol)
If you don't know, ask the red guide~♥️
※The seaweed has a desiccant in the bag, but it's not a sealed bag, it's in a transparent OPP bag with tape, so I just put it in a Ziploc as soon as I buy it 🙂

Shopping At Namdaemun Market
Namdaemun Market in Seoul Korea is always bustling with people - both locals and tourists. It's a great place for shopping and also finding many local food and delicacies. But what's so attractive about this market is the endless rows of shops, which means endless shopping the whole day long and the prices here are not expensive compared to shopping malls.
You can find clothes, korean kitchen wares, children's toys, street food. One stall that stood out was their korean pancake street food, and it's only SGD$1.50 per pancake, which was huge and had generous vegetable stuffing. It's cheap and keeps you full. And one can get korean cooking pots for only SGD$7.50, useful for cooking your korean dishes. Very affordable! Come to Namdaemun Market and you will discover tons of affordable and great finds!

Shop till drop
When you travel to Seoul, Namdaemun market is one of the places that you should never missed to visit. The market is perfect for people who enjoy shopping at cheaper price, like me(hehe).
It has so many varieties of items, from clothing to skincare to food to households items. Basically it has everything!
If you plan to shop at Namdaemun market, make sure you have enough cash. Some shops they do accept cards but some don’t. You can ask first whether they accept card so that you can save your cash for later use. Speak little Korean also help you get a good bargain sometimes. So, enjoy shopping at Namdaemun market like locals do.

📍21 Namdaemunsijang 4-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul, South Korea
Nandaemun Market is the largest traditional market in Seoul with over 10,000 stores selling everything from clothes, accessories, food, souvenirs, and even Halloween props & decorations!!!
Located in between Myeongdong & City Hall area, there are lots of cheap items (eg. autumn/winter clothes from 3000 won onwards😲). There are a lot of people (mainly locals) even though it's a weekday afternoon. However, due to the huge area and lack of time, we are only able to cover a small portion of the market.
There are around 3-4 stores clustered around one of the streets, mainly selling the Halloween party items with some looking quite realistic. Really cool with lots of choices if you are interested 😉

Namdaemun Market
Namdaemun Market is one of the busiest markets in South Korea. The traditional market was named after Seoul’s Great South Gate, which was the main gate to the ancient city. You can find quality leather goods, clothing, crafts, imported goods, utensils, electronics, and traditional oriental medicines at really affordable rates.
During the day, you can see locals shopping for groceries and household items. At night, Namdaemun becomes a vibrant night market from 11pm until 4am every day.

Namdaemun Kalguksu Street
#0yentrip I went to Kalguksu Alley in Namdaemun, right next to Myeongdong♪
After watching Kaoru TV on YouTube, I wanted to eat a set of Kalguksu, Bibimbap, and Doenjangguk😊
It was only about 8,000 won and was very filling💯
I also bought a mask pack on the way back!
I was glad I got it for half the price in Japan☆
If I hadn't been so full, I would have liked to go to the famous hotteok shop at the entrance to Namdaemun~🥲
I'll save that for next time lol
Long live the foodie trip🙌#Koreatrip #Namdaemun #Kalguksu

Seoul Travel Cold Noodle Hotspot Seoryeong
Located near Seoul's Namdaemun, the newly opened ⭐️Seoryeong⭐️ is a restaurant started by the owners of Hongcheon Jangwon Makguksu who have come to Seoul. It's a well-maintained eatery that's so popular there's often a wait from early morning. It's known for its Pyongyang cold noodles, spicy mixed noodles, and following the popularity of Gyeongdong Noodle House, their Hangjeongsal (pork neck meat) is also a favorite among customers.

Must Try 500Won Pancake!
#familytrips2024
At the famous Namdaemun Market in Seoul Korea, this 500 Won Pancake has gone viral, with lots of tourists and local alike, queueing to get their hands on this pancake. This pancake is made to order and it comes in 4 different flavours - cheese, red bean, chocolate and custard flavour. Each pancake cost 3000 Won and while the queue may take about 15 minutes, it's still worth it. The pancake was served hot, its crispy and we got a whole lot of melting stretchy cheese with every bite. So addictive you need to try it too!

🇰🇷 Namdaemun Vegetable Hotteok
Hotteok is a popular Korean street food. It is a type of Korean pancake typically sweet and filled with ingredients like brown sugar, honey, chopped peanuts, and cinnamon. You can find a few stalls selling hotteok in Namdaemun Market which is well-known for its diverse range of street food.
The most popular hotteok stall is located at the junction between Namdaemun-ro and Namdaemunsijang-gil. There is always a long queue at the stall but the queue moves quickly. The three fillings available are vegetable, sweet seed and red bean. Each hotteok costs 1500 KRW. I like the savory fillings and the crispy skin of the hotteok. You should definitely give it a try if you visit Namdaemun.

🎄If you need to buy a Christmas tree, go to ‘Daedo Shopping Mall’
The most famous place to buy Christmas trees and ornaments is the Express Bus Terminal in Gangnam. However, you can also see and buy various types of trees and ornaments at the Daedo Flower Market, which is not well known yet.
And since you can buy them at wholesale prices, you can buy them cheaper than other places, and since it is located in Namdaemun Market, it is perfect for a quick meal after looking at the trees.
It is located near Hoehyeon Station, so you can find it by exiting 5. You can buy trees and ornaments at Daedo Complex Shopping Mall E Building and snowballs at D Building.

Namdaemun-Ro Road BBQ 🇰🇷 Korea
#seoultrip
In Korea it's BBQ time. BBQ meat, kimchi, lettuce, pink salt, mustard seeds, wasabi, meat pancakes, bimlimbap, bulgogi and all the small plates too.
We went to two different BBQ restaurants in Namdaemun-Ro Gil 1, which is located next to the Courtyard by Marriott hotel.
The street is fairly quiet until around 14:00, but afterwards and late into the evening it's a great spot to grab food and a beer.
There is a nice balance between locals and tourists and the specials on the wall are definitely worth asking about.
I'd highly recommend taking a walk down here after walking through Myeong Dong to chill out and eat too much!

🇰🇷 Korean Sashimi place hidden in market
#wheretogo
This place is a long established Namdaemun Market’s specialty that’s unknown for foreigners but very popular among the Korean peeps. The whole setting is really like what we have seen from the Korean drama, very down to earth, traditional and not fancy. But you would be hooked once you give it a try. You can see a generous plate of sashimi on every table and that’s what they are famous for. First of all, the sashimi was plump, chewy and satisfying. The red pepper paste that served on the table is homemade. The generous side dish here is delicious. #foodie #timetotravel #seoulfun

Underrated Namdaemun Traditional Market
While Gwangjiang is popular due to Netflix, this might be a forgotten or underrated tradition market that should be visited! It is one of the oldest market around, As the name suggest “market” you sure to find food! I mean good food. Depending on the exit u enter u end up at different lane of the area. I usually enter from exit 5. The stores are usually open from morning 9am till later noon. There are alot of food ranging from Kalguksu which is like our ban mian kind of knife cut noodle, bao like steam bun, dumplings , cold noodles, kimbap ! Which i personally really love the kimchi bun from gamegol this is damm good i swear! despite the bao looking kinda not very appetising it is so delicious that i really want to finish all of the one box! is just 1000won for one pls try! the packaging of the box is in pink if u buy like in a bundle of 8 or more~
There ate also alot kids stuff , cute stuff, socks and alot varieties of things not just it is an ahjumma market-which is often being portray ! Not forgetting you can also find salted version of hottdeok which is so good as well-is often seen with a queue for all the good food. Yea pls join in the fomo of q-ing most of the time you get the good stuff 😄

Namdaemun Market
This market is in Seoul. it has a lot of foreigners shopping around. It’s so every product in very cheap price. Here you can find and buy a phone case close shoes, and food. market really thick. You may spend around more than 20 minutes in order to walk all the ways in the market. it amazes me that the price is not high and the food here. Also, they sell the same as the other provinces.

6 years Ginseng wholesale Market
21 Namdaemunsijang 4-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul, South Korea
The Namdaemun Market is one of the oldest market in Seoul. They offer all range of goods. We went to the section where it sells Ginseng. Many of the shops are selling six years old ginseng at a very reasonable price. Each cost about less than ten dollars. When I asked the owner of one of the shop, he introduced me to a larger ginseng which is a more premium range. The price is about thirty to fourty singapore dollars each. The Ginseng is very fat and healthy. Korea grow red ginseng hence this is one of the place you can get the most authentic and affordable ginseng. The market is few minutes walk from the nearest train station.

South Koreas army pots and spicy rice cakes are all true roadside stalls. Surrounded by a snoring around the stall, I ate a pot of red hot, hot and sweet rice cake, and happiness suddenly came.
Of course, Seouls roadside stalls are not only spicy rice cakes, but also the local characteristics. Whether its in Bukchon Hanok Village or in the clothing market, you can always find these Korean old aunts in the humble corner. The small shop, although small, is clean and tastes not lost.
