I enjoyed every bit of this adventure - it was affordable, and the views were absolutely worth the hikes and early starts. Day 1: • Madakaripura Waterfall Stay: Bromo Terrace Hotel & Resto Eat: Bawangan Bromo Hotel & Resto Day 2: (started our day at 2.30am) • Sunrise point at King Kong Hill (only jeeps can access the roads there, and you get some cool pics as well) • Hike Mt. Bromo Stay: Urbanview B Syariah Lumajang Day 3: • Tumpaksewu Waterfall • Goa Tetes Cave Stay: ljen View Hotel & Resort Day 4: (started our day at 11.30pm the PREVIOUS day, slept at 6pm to make it to ljen before sunrise) • Hike Mt. Ijen - there's the option to hike down to see a naturally occuring blue fire, but there were too many people on that day, making the narrow path down quite dangerous. Ijen Volcano: Also an active volcano located in the eastern part of Java Island, rich in sulfur, it is one of the only two places in the world where you can see blue flames. Bali: A world-famous island resort that needs no further introduction 🗺️Recommended route: Jakarta-Malang, Malang-Cemorolawang town, charter a car to visit Bromo Volcano Bromo Volcano-Wenduo Huosuo, charter a car to visit Ijen Volcano Ijen Volcano-Wainan Meng-Bali 🎒Essential equipment: Headlamp/flashlight: Needed when climbing Ijen Volcano at night Mask/gas mask: You can wear a mask when going to Bromo, and you must wear a gas mask when going to Ijen to see the blue fire! Finally, I see you, Java Volcano

This is my fourth time in Indonesia, but my first time visiting this famous Java attraction, Bromo Volcano. I joined a group from Malang, waiting for the sunrise in the dark, the temperature was only 9 degrees, luckily I managed without adding a coat. Then we went on a somewhat experienced trek to the volcano crater, followed by the grasslands and the sand sea, which everyone ignored because they were too tired. Since we set off from Malang, we left the hotel in Malang city at 0:40. On the way back, we visited a place that some people call the 'small waterfall', the Rainbow Waterfall. The ticket price is very low, it's a bit like the main waterfall in the Tongling Grand Canyon in Guangxi that I visited in 2021, but the ticket prices of the two can't be compared.

A Natural Wonder - Majestic Mount Bromo

#2024wish Our mother Earth boasts numerous natural marvels, and among them stands Mount Bromo. Soaring over 2300 metres above sea level, this active volcano is spectacular and attracts many tourists from all around the world to view it. We engaged in a local tour to bring us to the volcano and the vantage point they brought us to is Mount Penanjakan. We woke up during the wee hours of the morning to travel and trek up the mountain to see the sunrise. The sunrise over Mount Bromo is breathtaking! It is one of the most beautiful sunrises that I have ever witnessed. Depending on your fitness level, the trek to the top takes about 20-30 minutes. Embedded within the fabric of this grand geological formation lies a legend - a selfless brave prince who sacrificed his life to appease the God for his family. This myth has been interwoven into the culture of Tengger as during the annual Kasada festival, the people can be seen throwing offerings into the crater of the volcano. This is a once in a lifetime experience that I wish to go again in the near future!

Wow what and incredible experience in Indonesia at Mount Bromo 📍 Watching the sunrise here was beautiful, we departed from Melang at midnight and took a 4x4 vehicle to the top of the mountain. It was cold, perhaps 5 degrees so everyone wrapped up warm and vendors sold coffee to fight off the cold! We waited atop the view point where I captured the above shots, the purple hue of the sunrise across the valley was perhaps one of the best photos I’ve taken on my phone!

🌋 Mount Bromo is one of the most famous and stunning attractions in Indonesia. It is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. What’s so unique about it is the fact that it is a volcano inside another volcano. In the beginning there was only Mount Semeru (the highest peak of Java Island), and it erupted multiple times creating a giant caldera with small mountains inside, and one of them is Mount Bromo which is still active today. The group of mountains is now called Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park and has attracted tourists from all over the world! 🏔️ 🕰️ The best time to go Most people start their journey at 2AM to reach the top by sunrise. 🥾 Hiking up to the crater cone The area leading to the base of Mount Bromo is off limits for any vehicles except by horse or foot. I'd suggest the former because it is not that short of a distance, and the horse ride was pretty exciting, you'll feel like an adventurer in a foreign land. The view was absolutely stunning, you get to see the great expanse of the Semeru caldera 🏇 After the horse ride, you have to hike up 250 stairs to reach the crater cone. The hike was a bit strenuous, but it was worth it when you finally reached the top. The view from the top of the crater cone was breathtaking, with a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding landscape & You can see the active volcano with its steaming fumaroles, which added to the surreal atmosphere of the place.
