One famous volcano in Bali has got to be Mount Batur, which is actually still active, but many people still climb it such that when we did the climb, there were crowds of people in front and behind us. There are also animals that you might see along the way, like monkeys and cows. But best of all is the breathtaking views. Remember to wear snug, comfy shoes as the trek down is full of soft ash material and it can be tough to keep balance. Part of the 3 AM Club (not 5 AM! Haha) We hired a private tour guide for our early morning hike, which turned out to be quite easy—similar to the Peak or Twins in Hong Kong. A private driver picked us up at the hotel, and our guide welcomed us upon arrival, equipping us with professional lamps. Definitely worth it if you like to walk fast and avoid the crowds. At the summit, our guide quickly secured the best spot for watching the sunrise. While we waited, he provided breakfast and snapped plenty of photos for us. It was quite windy and cold up there, so be sure to wear warm clothes! #batur #ubud On the way back, we opted for the car instead of hiking down. I highly recommend skipping the bath and asking the driver to drop you off at Waring Babi Guling—my favorite meal of the entire trip!

Amazing experience hiking up mount Batur for sunrise, really easy hike but the views at the top are incredible.

Join a mount batu sunrise trip. The tour guide would pick you up by private car in the early morning. You would follow the guide and hike up the amazing volcano through the night, which takes around 3 hours. You would join the crowd as you walk up the volcano. Although it was dark and chilling, they provided headlights and jackets (for rent). Eventually, enjoy the best sunrise from the top.
