#100waysoftravel
Had an amazing balloon ride over Luxor, Egypt! Watching the sun rise over the Nile and ancient temples was absolutely unreal 🌅
🌍 Amazing Views:
Floating above the Valley of the Kings and the green fields along the Nile was breathtaking. Seeing these ancient sites from up high was something else! 🏺
☀️ Sunrise Moment:
The sunrise was the best part. The way the light spread across the desert and temples was so beautiful—it felt like a movie scene ✨
💨 Why I Loved It:
The whole experience was so peaceful and relaxing. Drifting above such a historic place was something I’ll never forget.
If you’re ever in Luxor, definitely do a balloon ride. It’s a must-do! 🎈

‼️ Tips:
✅ Price
You can find it on Trip.com, and the prices are roughly the same.
✅ Process
Hotel pick-up to the pier - take a boat to the other side - get in the car - get the permit and go to the hot air balloon - wait for the hot air balloon to be approved for take-off - wait for your basket to take off - get on the shuttle bus to return
✅ Photo tips
How high you fly, how long you fly, and how many hot air balloons you can see/photograph all depend on luck. We were the first to fly, but we were almost the last few, and there was basically no big scene. We basically couldn't take a picture of a hot air balloon full of background. So be sure to take pictures before take-off, and it will be very photogenic.

I just came back from Egypt and took a look around.
Asked for 5 days of annual leave
Counting the two weekends before and after
I traveled freely in Egypt for 8 days in total.
The schedule is full every day
Checked in all the places I wanted to visit the most in my plan
I made a lot of strategies in advance📖
So nothing went wrong along the way.
I was a little worried before departure
The results completely exceeded expectations❕
Egypt is worth it! 🇪🇬

Hot Air Balloon in Luxor, Egypt
In Luxor, Egypt, take a hot air balloon ride at sunrise. Luxor is one of Egypt's important archaeological excavation sites and tourist destinations, and it is also a popular spot for hot air balloon rides. From the hot air balloon, you can overlook the panoramic view of the Luxor Temple. The sight of many hot air balloons flying together is very spectacular.

Hot Air Balloon in Luxor
Guests will be picked up from the hotel early in the morning (about 4-5 o'clock) in time to reach the sky to catch the dawn rays at the beginning of a new day. And you will have to stand in the same place throughout the entire journey, so prepare your filming equipment before departing from the ground.
To date, there are more than 30 hot air balloons providing flights over Luxor. Flights are usually taken early in the morning and will be canceled if it is windy to ensure safety.
The hot air balloon will fly along the west bank of the Nile River from north to south. Visitors will see the valley of the kings, the temple of Hatshepsut, the temple of Amenhotep III in the west. High above you will clearly see two strips of fertile green plains and a strip of barren desert.
The Mortuary Temple of Amenhotep III, seen from above. Built during the 18th dynasty of the New Kingdom, there are still two large 18m high stone statues left. Because the temple is located quite close to the river, annual floods cause this area to be destroyed faster over time.
Altitude depends on the wind, so sometimes you fly so low over the sugarcane fields that it feels like you can touch them, and other times you can fly so high above all the other balloons.
The best time to travel to Egypt and experience hot air ballooning is from October to March every year, avoiding hot summers and many epidemics.
After a journey of about 45 minutes, you will land below the field where there is a small tea table with some fruit and wine and a certificate issued by the tour company to congratulate visitors on completing the flight.

Have you seen Luxor at four in the morning? Hot air balloon experience
💕The fourth day in Luxor is like a dream. As one of the places with the highest cost performance for experiencing hot air balloons, even without the unique landscape of Cappadocia, it is worth experiencing the rural scenery of Luxor.
✍Itinerary, the hotel on the west bank picks up to the bus gathering point around five o'clock (the east bank is earlier, you need to take a boat to the west bank pier first), most people will choose the first flight to watch the sunrise, our two flights on the day are very close, in this case, the second flight seems to have a higher cost performance. After the end, it is also sent to the hotel, basically there is nothing to worry about.
✏Flight route, depending on the mood of the pilot, don't think about flying over the horizon, basically it's turning over the sugarcane field, the partner's hot air balloon flew over the Valley of the Kings~
💰Price, a basket is divided into six areas, four people on each end of the block, a driving position in the middle, three people on both sides, basically a hot air balloon including the driver 23 people.
The first flight 06:20-7:10 1200 Egyptian pounds per person,
The second flight 06:40-7:30 800 Egyptian pounds per person,
The above prices are for reference in January 2024, and a slight fluctuation is normal.

Luxor, Egypt | Guide to the cheapest hot air balloon rides in the world
At 04:00 the alarm clock rings, wake up, wash, put on thick clothes and prepare to go see the hot air balloon. It took nearly two hours in the dark, both by boat and by car, to reach the west bank where the hot air balloons are launched. We watched the sun rise, our first hot air balloon flight clearly won't see the sunrise, because the staff said they were waiting for the wind, wanting to fly over the Valley of the Kings.
Riding a hot air balloon really requires patience, standing in the cold wind for more than an hour before taking off, the moment the blower starts, the whole field screams and boils, three hours before and after, 7:15, the sun has risen, we are finally going to fly.
After the hot air balloon is ignited, except for the 'captain', the rest of the staff have all gone down, only the captain is controlling the direction and take-off and landing of our hot air balloon. Unfortunately, our hot air balloon may not love the Valley of the Kings, all the way to see the Valley of the Kings, large green fields, houses, churches, came to the Nile.
Riding a hot air balloon is like a bird flying in the sky, enjoying the feeling of freedom.
When we were about to end the flight, the captain needed to find a suitable place for us to land, and the staff were driving and running all the way, several times thought we were going to land, but the wind blew us back into the sky, only to see them running hard but falling short each time, finally near the Nile bank, we finally landed, the hot air balloon staff basically arrived at the scene within 5 minutes.
The emotional value that the hot air balloon brings to me is higher than this 1800 Egyptian pounds, it is said that Egypt is the cheapest country in the world to ride a hot air balloon, more than two hundred dollars what bike do you want‼️
🤣Hot air balloon riding guide:
1. I directly found the boss of happy land youth hostel to book the 1800 Egyptian pounds first flight, the second flight is definitely cheaper. In fact, the price of flying a hot air balloon changes with time, my time in Luxor was during the Christmas and New Year period, somewhat more expensive. But that day I knew someone else was sitting on the first flight for 1400 Egyptian pounds, bargaining is still up to the individual, and also depends on the company you sign up with, maybe the take-off time is the second batch of the first flight, the one I signed up with was the first batch directly, the overall service attitude is also very good!
2. The scenery of Luxor's hot air balloon is very beautiful, half is the Valley of the Kings in the loess slope, half is the lush green fields of the Egyptian people. Watching a sunrise on a hot air balloon is definitely very nice. Remember to wear very thick for the first flight, before sunrise in winter, Luxor is still very cold.
