Monument to commemorate the Swiss Guards
The Lion Monument is dedicated to the memory of the Swiss mercenaries who, in the service of Louis XVI King of France, were killed during the French Revolution in Paris when the Tuileries were invaded on August 10, 1792, or who were guillotined on September 2nd/3rd, 1792.
The Palais des Tuileries was the seat of Louis XVI after he had left Versailles.
The inscription "Helvetiorum fidei ac virtuti" means "To the loyalty and bravery of the Swiss".
It is important to know that, in addition to agriculture and town-crafts, the mercenaries' service was an important and gainful trade at the time of the Ancient Confederation. At the beginning of the French Revolution, in 1789,
about 40000 Swiss were serving under foreign banners.

Switzerland dying lion statue
#WinHong Kong Tickets Visiting the Lion Monument in Switzerland is a deeply touching journey. When I first saw this statue, I was struck by the history and emotion it contained. The statue features a dying lion as the protagonist, lying sadly and resolutely on the rock, with blood flowing from its mouth and eyes full of sorrow and loyalty. This statue was built to commemorate the Swiss Guards who sacrificed their lives for the Swiss Patriotic War in the French Revolutionary War. I was deeply moved by the loyalty and sacrifice for my country and homeland. Standing in front of the statue, I couldn't help but fall into deep thought, thinking about the tragedy of war and the value of peace. In addition to the statue itself, the surrounding environment is also full of solemn atmosphere, making people involuntarily feel the weight and significance of history. It is also an unforgettable experience to interact with other tourists and share their feelings and stories about the statue. Overall, visiting the Dying Lion was like a soul-touching journey. It made me deeply feel the cherishment and respect for my country and homeland, and it also made me cherish the value of peace even more.

Most Beautiful Monument
The Lion Monument of Lucerne commemorates the sacrifices of the Swiss Guards during the French Revolution in 1792.
The monument itself is beautifully carved on the side of a small cliff, but the surrounding trees, foliage, as well as the pond, add a sense of peace and tranquility to anyone who visits this site.
Most of all, the area is void of any tourist traps or restaurants that try to profit off of the monument - making the visit very relaxing and genuine. Having said that, there are a couple of cafés around the monument if you need coffee or food.
The attraction is free and a definite must for anyone who loves art.

Lion Monument At Lucerne
#wheretogo
I was searching for attractions to go in Lucerne Switzerland when the website recommended Lion Monument. Thus, off I went to explore. When I reached the site, I didn't expect the Lion Monument to be that majestic. The Lion Monument is actually a shape of lion carved onto a huge rock. I also realised that the Lion Monument is to commemorate the Swiss Guards who were massacred in 1792 during the French Revolution,

A beautiful, short little stop to take. Getting to the area of the monument takes almost no time once you’re in the area, and it’s a very short walk.
A little bit outside the touristic centre, but it can be reached by foot.
It's situated in a quiet area. Can sit on the chair to watch the lion.
Highly recommended!

It is often screened by the Capel bridge on Lake Lucerne. The scenery is like a postcard. The typical natural scenery of Switzerland is also a symbol of Switzerland. It is often crowned as the most beautiful place in Switzerland. The first stop of hh/Lucerne is usually a lion. The monument, although a small square, is very meaningful. The
lion monument tells a part of the history of Switzerland. It was established for the protection of the Louis XVI family and the mercenary of the last war. It is a symbol of the loyalty and perseverance of the Swiss
Capel Bridge is Lucerne The important sign, built in 1333, is the water wall of Lucerne. The bridge is the oldest wooden covered bridge in Europe. The bridge is about 200 meters long. There are many white swan and wild ducks on the upper reaches of the lake. The lake is crystal clear, so vividly shows how long it stops here. Not too long

The Lion Monument is one of the best sculptures in Lucerne. An arrow was deeply inserted into the back of the lion who was on the verge of death. The lion showed a painful look. The front paws were shielded and spears, and the shield had the Swiss national emblem. This is to commemorate the 786 Swiss mercenaries who died in the French Revolution during the French Revolution, when the mob attacked the French Dulei Palace, to protect the king of Louis XVI and Queen Mary, in order to pray for world peace, with text below the monument. Describes the passage of this event. The monument to the dying lion image was hailed by Marco Twain as "the most glorious stone sculpture in the world."
