Lake Kawaguchiko serves as the main point of entry to this famous lake region. It is the second largest of the Five Lakes in terms of surface area and the second most shallow depth. Racing with Ducks on Kawaguchi Lake
📍 Address: 4037-1 Funatsu, Fujikawaguchiko-machi, Minamitsuru-gun, Yamanashi Prefecture
㊙️ This time, our travel destination is the beautiful Kawaguchi Lake. Here, not only can you see the magnificent Mount Fuji under the blessing of the god of luck, but there are also many cute duck-shaped pedal boats waiting to accompany you for a leisurely time on the lake!
🗻 Upon arriving at Kawaguchi Lake, we headed straight to the rental booth by the lake and found those adorable duck-shaped pedal boats. These boats are super cute, looking like they walked straight out of a cartoon, making you fall in love at first sight. We quickly completed the rental procedures, and the staff kindly taught us how to use them.
🦢 Eagerly stepping onto the pedal boat, we started gliding on the lake with the gentle sound of paddling. Surrounded by green trees and distant mountains, the whole scenery looked like a painting. While riding, we occasionally stopped to take photos, capturing these beautiful moments. Sometimes, small fish swam beside our boat, making us feel so close to nature. After a while of riding, we rested at a lakeside café and enjoyed the local delicacies. The fresh fish dishes and handmade ice cream were delightful surprises.
👍🏻 If you have the chance to visit Kawaguchi Lake, don't miss the experience of riding a duck-shaped pedal boat! It's a fun and relaxing journey that will surely become a beautiful memory of your trip. I hope my sharing inspires you to embark on this wonderful journey! 💯

A Lucky Encounter with Mount Fuji at Lake Kawaguchi
Catching a clear view of Mount Fuji can feel like winning the travel lottery. On my recent trip to Lake Kawaguchi, I was fortunate enough to experience one of those rare, perfect days where the elusive peak revealed itself.
The day started out cloudy, and I was ready to accept that Fuji might not make an appearance. But as I strolled along the lakeside, the clouds began to part, and slowly, Mount Fuji’s snow-capped peak emerged. It felt like a gift from nature, and the sight was absolutely breathtaking. The mountain stood tall and majestic, reflected beautifully on the calm waters of the lake.
Seeing Mount Fuji in such perfect conditions is a moment that stays with you. The crisp air, the stillness of the water, and the sheer beauty of the view created a serene atmosphere that I’ll never forget. I sat by the lake, taking it all in, grateful for the luck that brought me this view on such a clear day.
Other visitors around me shared the same excitement, snapping photos and savoring the rare moment. It was like we had all witnessed something truly special.
If you’re planning a visit to Lake Kawaguchi, keep your hopes high and your camera ready. Even if Fuji doesn’t reveal itself right away, the peaceful lakeside setting is worth the trip. And who knows—you might just be as lucky as I was.

Tokyo Trip: Famous Lake Kawaguchi and Mt. Fuji! Recommended Gyukatsu Restaurant!
On this trip to Tokyo, we visited the famous Lake Kawaguchi! Lake Kawaguchi is renowned as one of the best spots to view Mt. Fuji. During our visit, we also discovered a fantastic restaurant! The restaurant is called Koshuya, which specializes in gyukatsu (beef cutlet). We ordered a gyukatsu set meal, which had a generous portion of beef. The beef was very tender, with a crispy exterior and a soft interior! The set meal costs 2000 yen, which is very reasonable! If you visit Lake Kawaguchi, you should definitely give it a try! The restaurant's decor is also nice, with a strong Japanese vibe!

One of the life goals: Soak in a hot spring at the foot of Mount Fuji.
While getting close to Mount Fuji, you can't miss the hotels where you can enjoy the view of Mount Fuji by pushing the window. Lying on the bed and overlooking the beautiful scenery of Mount Fuji is simply a great joy in life!
The hotel faces the tranquil waters of Lake Kawaguchi and the majestic Mount Fuji. Each room is carefully designed with traditional Japanese decoration style and tatami mats.
The balcony has a private hot spring♨️. While guests enjoy the hot spring, they can also enjoy the beautiful view of Mount Fuji. In addition to the private hot spring, the hotel also has public hot spring facilities with a variety of choices.
The hotel features "Nagara Fuji", which means you can enjoy the view of Mount Fuji from the hot spring, room or lounge; you can take pictures of Mount Fuji everywhere in the hotel🗻. Mount Fuji enthusiasts are ecstatic!
The hotel accommodation includes breakfast and lunch, which is a standard Japanese breakfast, and you can also enjoy A5 Wagyu beef dinner in the restaurant. The dishes are also made with the most suitable ingredients of the season, which is very appetizing.

The front desk staff are warm and polite, and will also prepare a surrounding dining map for guests. Friends who like slow-paced travel must not miss this hotel~

A Tranquil Trip to Lake Kawaguchi, Japan
In the early autumn of September, Lake Kawaguchi becomes a perfect getaway to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The scenes captured in the photos perfectly depict the tranquility and beauty of Lake Kawaguchi. In the early morning or evening, a light mist gently covers the mountains, the lake surface sparkles, and the lights of distant hotels and inns begin to glow, creating a scene reminiscent of an ink painting.
Located in Yamanashi Prefecture, Lake Kawaguchi is one of the Fuji Five Lakes and an excellent spot to admire the beauty of Mount Fuji. Although Mount Fuji was shrouded in clouds on this day, obscuring its majestic view, it did not diminish the charm of Lake Kawaguchi. On the contrary, the mist added a touch of mystery and poetry to the lakeside scenery. Walking along the lakeshore, you can feel the surrounding tranquility, with the lake water like a mirror reflecting the faint mountain scenery, as if time has stood still here.
The temperature at Lake Kawaguchi in September is moderate, neither as hot as summer nor as cold as winter, making it one of the most comfortable seasons of the year. During this time, the natural scenery around the lake remains lush and green, and as autumn approaches, the surrounding maple leaves will gradually turn red, heralding the arrival of a beautiful autumn season.
In addition to enjoying the natural scenery, the hot spring inns around Lake Kawaguchi are also not to be missed. Staying in a hot spring inn facing the lake, soaking in the steaming hot springs, and admiring the picturesque lake and mountain scenery outside the window is undoubtedly a relaxation and healing for the body and mind.
Whether you are simply looking for a quiet retreat or hoping to explore the beauty of nature, a September trip to Lake Kawaguchi will bring you endless surprises and joy.

A Must-Visit Spot to View Mount Fuji: Lake Kawaguchi! Different Angles, Different Beauty!
This time, we visited a very famous spot near Tokyo to admire Mount Fuji, which is Lake Kawaguchi! Lake Kawaguchi is one of the Fuji Five Lakes and has become a popular destination for many tourists to enjoy the view of Mount Fuji. I took photos of the lake from different angles, including aerial views, views from driving, and views at dusk! Each angle showcases a unique beauty! So far, Lake Kawaguchi is my favorite lake, and if you love nature, you definitely shouldn't miss it!

You have to stay here to have a say! This is the place to stay for maple season at Mount Fuji.
Why should you stay at Lake Kawaguchi for a night to enjoy the maple leaves at Mount Fuji?
Because whether it's the view or the food, this hidden gem of a hotel is really worth it!
🚴Recommended itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive in the morning and visit the art galleries, Oishi Park, and other attractions around Lake Kawaguchi.
Day 2: Before checking out at 11:00, use the shuttle bus service to go to Kawaguchiko Station or Tenjo-yama Park Mt. Kachi Kachi Ropeway.
This hotel at Lake Kawaguchi is indeed favored by photography 📹 enthusiasts for its excellent views. The design of the large open-air hot spring on the top floor of the hotel complements Lake Kawaguchi, giving people a feeling of being close to the lake. Especially in the early morning or at dusk 🌆, the view of Mount Fuji reflected on the lake is extremely magnificent and intoxicating.
The rooms in the observatory are specially equipped with private hot springs♨️. The hot spring water comes from Lake Kawaguchi Hot Spring. Soaking in the hot spring while looking at Mount Fuji🗻 is simply indescribably beautiful!
The hotel offers a one-night two-meal package. The teppanyaki dinner is particularly worth mentioning. The ingredients are rich, including lobster🦞, Wagyu beef🥩, abalone, etc., far exceeding expectations, it's really a pleasant surprise!
The hotel has a shuttle bus to the bus station, about 5 minutes, very convenient

Travel to Lake Kawaguchi, stay at this hotel! The rooms are super super super comfortable!
Travel to Lake Kawaguchi, stay at this hotel! The rooms are super super super comfortable!
Compared to Ubuya, which is always fully booked, the yet-to-be-discovered Kukuna can really be called a hidden gem (make sure to book with dinner, it's really worth it!).
Its location is right in the center of Lake Kawaguchi, offering an unobstructed view of Mount Fuji.
You can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Lake Kawaguchi and Mount Fuji just by opening the curtains in the hotel room, and every room has a private balcony facing Mount Fuji (make sure to check the weather forecast before coming, or you will regret it).
Some room types in the hotel also come with a private hot spring bath, where you can soak while watching Mount Fuji, which is incredibly healing (even if you don't have a private hot spring bath, the rooftop open-air hot spring also offers a view of Mount Fuji, and you can take amazing photos when no one is around!).
Since the hotel is right by Lake Kawaguchi, you can get up early in the morning for a run or walk along the lake, and at night you can stargaze directly from the balcony. During the day, if you get tired from playing around the area, there is a bus stop along the lake where you can take a bus directly back to the hotel. It's really convenient.
If you are departing from Tokyo, you can take a bus from Tokyo Steel Tower Station to Lake Kawaguchi Station, then ask the staff at the visitor center to call the hotel for you, and the hotel's shuttle bus will arrive in about 10 minutes! The hotel offers a free shuttle bus to Lake Kawaguchi Station and Tenjosan Park Cable Car Station every morning, but you need to book in advance (the last shuttle is at 11 o'clock).

In this lifetime, one must see the sea of clouds at Mount Fuji, which I visited three times in four months
After going to Japan, wouldn't you really want to see a sunrise at Mount Fuji?
As everyone knows, there are many spots to view Mount Fuji, and there are also many tourists.
Especially during holidays, it's so crowded that even the convenience stores announce they are drawing the curtains.
What many people don't know is that there are many hidden spots,
with few people and beautiful scenery for an exclusive view.
—
Mount Fuji after the rain is a stunning sight I've never seen before.
The mist gradually lets down its guard after the glow of dawn.
The hazy Mount Fuji slowly reveals itself,
making us who waited for two days tearfully happy.

👉Address: Hirano in Yamanakako at Mount Fuji, Japan
Spot 1️: The shore of Hirano in Yamanakako: Can capture the volcanic reflection + swans
Spot 2️: The boardwalk by the water in Yamanakako: Can capture the walkway, with lakeside rocks in the foreground
Spot 3: Nagasaki Park in Kawaguchiko, by the main road: Features a large cherry blossom tree in the foreground
⚠️Spot 1 and Spot 2 are both in the plains of Yamanakako, about a hundred meters apart, but Spot 1 is slowly becoming more known, while Spot 2 is less known and yields better photos.
—
👉Transportation:
1️】Take a highway bus from Shinjuku's express bus terminal in Tokyo to the plains of Yamanakako, about a 2.5-hour drive.
‼️Be sure to buy tickets in advance, as there may be none available on the spot
2️】Take a train from Tokyo to Otsuki, then transfer to the Fujikyu line to Kawaguchiko, and then take a bus from platform 6 for an hour to the plains of Yamanakako
‼️Suitable for those with uncertain departure times, but the downside is that transferring takes time and it's often crowded with no seats available
‼️Note the last bus time from Kawaguchiko to Yamanakako, as missing it means an 8000 yen taxi ride from Kawaguchiko to the plains
—
👉Accommodation:
1️】hanamizuki, stayed twice, clean, with communal baths and restrooms, includes breakfast, dinner can be booked, no air conditioning, tatami mats
2️】Gojuban Japanese-style hotel: clean, with communal baths and restrooms, does not include breakfast, no air conditioning, tatami mats
‼️Both of these are very close to the sunrise spot in the plains, a five-minute walk

Tokyo - Mount Fuji - Atami, a guide to connecting attractions around Tokyo
Many people are aware of how to enjoy a certain attraction around Tokyo, but they might not be clear about the transportation and connections in between. Today, I will provide a detailed guide to help you understand how to connect these places.
🕕For the total time, I recommend spending one day each at Mount Fuji and Atami to cover most of the attractions. For a more relaxed trip, I suggest two days each.
🗼→🗻: To get from Tokyo to Mount Fuji, there are mainly two modes of transportation: you can take a bus or the Fujikyu railway. The bus is relatively cheaper and more convenient as it doesn't require transfers.
💰Bus fare is around 100r, and the train fare is about 200r.
Boarding location: Shinjuku
Mount Fuji attractions:
Ogurasan Asama Shrine: There is a tower and a viewpoint of Mount Fuji on the mountain, get off at Shimoyoshida Station.
Hikawa Watch Shop: Also get off at Shimoyoshida Station, but this place is more crowded, just a photo spot.
Kawaguchiko Station: The transportation hub of the Kawaguchiko area, with many tourist centers and specialty stores, and it is also the terminal station of the train.
🗻→🏖️From Mount Fuji to Atami, if you search on the map, there are many routes to choose from. However, after trying them out personally, the most reliable route should be:
Take a bus to Mishima Station, and from there, it only takes about fifteen minutes to take a train to Atami. The express bus to Mishima takes about 2 hours, and the total journey is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.
The main attraction in Atami is the fireworks festival. In the surrounding area of Atami, you can visit the cactus park mentioned before, right next to it is the green Matcha Mountain. Besides, there are many art galleries to explore, and I also highly recommend staying overnight at a seaside inn in Atami.

I specifically flew to Japan for the maple corridor under Mount Fuji
Hi, I am 11🍁
Finally came to Japan to see the maple leaves! The red of the maple leaf corridor at Lake Kawaguchi is really like a scene in a Japanese anime, taken on November 19, the maple leaves are still red and yellow gradient, it is estimated that there are 2 weeks of viewing period.
.
The entire maple leaf corridor is not long, the branches on both sides form a natural arch. Under the sunlight, the maple leaves and ginkgo are shining, really like a Japanese anime.
.
It is recommended to rent an electric bicycle when you come to the maple leaf corridor, and the scenery along the way is also very beautiful. Depart from Lake Kawaguchi Station and ride along Lake Kawaguchi Bridge. The round trip is 9 kilometers, and it is not tiring to play and ride.
.
🚴♀️Rental suggestions
▫️Rent a car early, start queuing around 9 o'clock
▫️There are many uphill roads along the way, choose electric bicycles to save effort‼️
▫️There are many rental shops near Lake Kawaguchi Station, Google Map search "bike rental", rent a car nearby
▫️The shop where I rent a car is "81cake", 100 meters to the right of the station, the bicycle is very good-looking
.
🍁Play suggestions
▫️Maple leaf viewing time is late November to early December
▫️11 am and 3 pm, the sunlight is softer
▫️It is recommended to wear light-colored clothes to avoid the same color as the scenery
▫️One-day tour can arrange the maple leaf corridor in the morning, and the new warehouse Shanjian Shrine and Hikawa watch in the afternoon.
.
I hope everyone can see the red maple leaves🍁

Stop searching! The complete guide to visiting Lake Kawaguchi is here
Lake Kawaguchi is one of the Fuji Five Lakes, and it offers great views in different seasons. Moreover, Lake Kawaguchi is well developed. After reading my content, you can enjoy Lake Kawaguchi like a nanny.
🚘Transportation: There are two ways to get to Lake Kawaguchi, one is by bus or train. My suggestion is to take the bus, which is direct and cheaper, around 100 RMB. You can buy it at the long-distance bus station at Shinjuku Station.
⛩️Attractions: There are many hot spring hotels around Lake Kawaguchi, and choosing a hot spring hotel is a good choice. In addition, you can visit Asama Shrine. When you get off at Lake Kawaguchi, you will see the popular convenience store in the second picture. Also, the boat tour of Lake Kawaguchi is worth a try.
💰Cost: If you choose to return on the same day, the daily cost may be around 200 RMB for transportation and about 300 RMB for attractions.
Tour Time: It is recommended to take the earliest bus to get there, so the queue will be less. If you plan to return on the same day, 6-8 hours is recommended.

Perfect place to see Mount Fuji! 🗻
If you want a panoramic view of the famous Mount Fuji in Japan, head to Kawaguchi Lake. Regardless of what season you visit in, you are sure to be mesmerised by the exceptional natural beauty of this place. This lake is located at the lowest elevation with respect to Mount Fuji, allowing you to take in the sea, sky, and mountain all in one. It’s a must-go! Take a bus or train from Tokyo.

Charming Lake Kawaguchi during falls
Lake kawaguchi during falls is very adorable, there’s snow on the Mt fuji, the leaves had turned red, and if you are lucky enough like us, can get the best view of mt fuji.
We chose to rent a car, so that our trip can be more flexible, saved a lots of time on waiting for public transport and can get into the car to get ourselves warm whenever we are shaking under the cold wind. But traffic can be heavy during weekend.

Exploring Lake Kawaguchi by Bike
#kawaguchiko
Cycling is the best to get around the lake. There are bike rentals just outside the train station and it is only priced from 1500 yen for a full day rental until 7pm. Riding on the bike allows you to experience the beauty of the lake and scenery around the lake area at your own pace. The ride around the lake is relatively easy (though a mountain bike is recommended for comfort). It’s a 20km route with flat terrains so it’s doable for many people. It can be completed in 3 hours cycling at a leisurely pace.
There are many wild flowers around the cycling route so it’s a pretty sight while riding on the bike. Mount Fuji can even be seen at certain parts of the journey on a clear and cloudless day. It is recommended to start the ride early in the morning to avoid the crowd.
Food options around the lake are aplenty. I recommend Hoto noodles, a local dish made of miso broth and handmade noodles. This dish has a rich broth with many vegetables and meat in it as well, and makes a perfect meal to fuel the rest of the ride.

sunrise at Fuji is the best!
in Fujikawaguchiko, we stayed at K’s Guesthouse. At dawn, we walked about 10minutes to the lake. The sunrise view was insanely beautiful!
It was in March, however the temperature was still at negative at dawn. It was about -5 degree Celsius when we start walking. then when we got back, it was 2-4 degree Celsius
Prepare winter clothes if you’re going to Fuji in early spring.
Fujisan is beautiful at any time, from any angle, BUT at sunrise is magnificent!

Heavenly beautiful lake with Mt Fuji view
Lake Kawaguchi is a heavenly beautiful lake with breathtaking views of Mt Fuji! The surroundings around the Lake is quiet, calm and relaxing. There are also proper walking paths around the lake and it was wonderful experience to have a stroll along the lake.
There are some restaurant and resorts overlooking the beautiful lake. I did a day trip to Lake Kawaguchi and I will definitely come back for a stayover during my next time.
Overall, if you are in Japan, please visit Lake Kawaguchi.

【Lake Kawaguchi Hotel】✨Great value for money, simple and stylish with a garden at the foot of Mount Fuji.
#Japanese Hotel
The building is mainly white🤍
There are three floors in total, and the higher the floor, the larger the room size.
The key point is that every room has a great view of Mount Fuji.
The floor-to-ceiling glass balcony allows for perfect viewing of both sunrise and sunset.
In addition, there is a small kitchen in the room, and the equipment and utensils are very complete.
We recommend that you go to the nearby supermarket to buy ingredients and cook them in the room.
🤍Room type
We booked the "Mount Fuji View Deluxe Twin Room" on the 1st floor this time.
It costs about 20,000 yen per night (only a little over 1,000 Hong Kong dollars).
The cost performance is super high!
Just now, I saw that there are no available rooms for the next two months🫣
There is a small drawback to the hotel, which is that there is a row of power lines in the view outside the hotel.
But personally, I don't think it has much impact~

Enjoy a refreshing soak in the hot springs of Hakone, Japan - Lake Ashi and Lake Kawaguchi offer stunning views of Mount Fuji.
Near Tokyo, Japan, is the town of Hakone, which can be reached by taking the JR train. Hakone is a great place to soak in hot springs ♨️, with hotels and guesthouses of all sizes offering their own hot springs. We booked a hot spring hotel package with excellent service, and could soak in the hot springs both morning and night. The pools in the morning and evening were different, and we could enjoy the view of Mount Fuji and the surrounding scenery while soaking in the hot springs. It was a true luxury.
Lake Ashi is peaceful and beautiful, and Lake Kawaguchi reflects Mount Fuji. When you wake up in the morning, clouds float over the top of Mount Fuji like a fairyland.

Fuji with Sakura !!
Fuji-San, Mount Fuji - located on the island of Honshū, is the highest mountain in Japan, with a summit elevation of 3,776.24 m (12,389 ft 3 in). It is the second-highest volcano located on an island in Asia (after Mount Kerinci on the island of Sumatra).
Whoever go to visit Japan, wish to see Mount Fuji . Mount Fuji can be see from nearby cites, from 🚅 train and from the bus and everywhere near by provided the weather is clear.
To me whenever I am in Japan , I am kind of like always lucky to see her every where that I mention.
Here you are , I went to kawaguchiko and stay there for two days to explore Fuji 5 lakes and some famous Fuji view locations plus some Sakura viewing .
I stay in kawaguchiko station , that’s where all the trains and buses easily accessible. They have three different buses run different routes and all buses go to attractions locations and the bus fare can pay by IC cards that you use for almost whole Japan. Hope you enjoy seeing Mount Fuji as much as I do!! See you on the other side of the world 🌎!!

Kawaguchiko
A 2-hour bus ride out of Shibuya Station brought me to Kawaguchiko Station. Lovely place with lots to see, eat, and explore!
Highly recommended to get the tourist sightseeing ticket which includes Ropeway (cable car), boat ride and unlimited bus ride pass. Hop off anywhere and you’ll find a gem! We found a dessert hut! Ate at a French fusion restaurant, walked along parks and took many great pictures!! There are caves to explore too!

One of the most beautiful snow scenes in the world!
That year, the snow scenery in Japan was really beautiful!
The small town at the foot of Mount Fuji, don't know what town Lake Kawaguchi is.
Living in a hot spring hotel in town,
At night, soak in the hot springs while listening to the sound of snowfall!
In the morning, when the sun has just risen, you can see it from the hotel room window.
The sun shines on the top of Mount Fuji, the golden peak! Spectacular.
Wake up early and take a walk in town,
Untouched snow scenery, branches covered in snow,
Very quiet and beautiful!

Up Close to Mt Fuji at Sunset
Can you say that you’ve been to Japan without visiting Mt Fuji? No way! And that was exactly what we did during our short road trip around the Fujikawaguchiko region.
It was pretty cloudy the entire day and close to sundown so we were giving up hope on seeing the majestic Mt Fuji. We were just driving down Lake Kawaguchi thinking of where to go for dinner but the weather cleared up so we quickly decided to head to the nearest park to hopefully catch a glimpse of the mountain. And fortunately we did! The view of Mt Fuji was perfect, we could see as far up as the peak. Coupled with the sunset, it was so incredible that I was touched to tears. This was easily one of my most memorable travel moments in 2022.
If anyone is thinking of doing a self drive trip around the region, I highly reccomend it.
My travel wish for 2023 is to have a chance to do another road trip to the same region and to see Mt Fuji in its full glory again.
