If you're in Kyoto, you must visit the Kyoto National Museum.

The entrance fee for the Kyoto National Museum is 700 yen! Credit cards are accepted. Upon entering, you'll first see a statue and a fountain. If you go straight ahead, you'll find a modern building with exhibition halls up to the third floor, but photography is prohibited. All explanations are available in Korean, and the place is very well-maintained. There are guides in every section, and they will come to assist immediately if any issues arise. A satisfying experience for 700 yen.

#2024wish A big museum with two buildings, one old and one modern. The old building was closed temporarily so the exibitions were held in the modern building. The space is big with lots room for visitors to move around without getting way of each other. Most impressive floor was on the first floor which showed the statues of different Buddhism gods. With the help of lighting, the statues as if alive and the crystal eyes were looking down at the visitors. I wish to go to many places in Japan this year.

Falling for Asian Arts

Kyoto National Museum is one of Japan's largest museum located in Kyoto's Higashiyama ward. Primarily an Art Museum designed in French Renaissance architecture style, the museum showcases and focus mainly on pre-modern Japanese as well as Asian Arts. The Museum is open to public everyday from 9:00am to 5:30pm with a minimum charge of 700 yen for regular admissions, and up to 1500 yen for special exhibition held at Special Exhibition Hall. You can be assured though of your money's worth the the museum holds a vast collection of artifacts and provides a very deep insights on Japanese and Asian artistry. The month of April and May right before the Cherry blossoms draw the most visitor but it is also a good time to visit the museum in September and October during the Fall season to experience the foliage. #fallingforfall

I am such a sucker for Museums, so of course, when I went to Kyoto, I made sure I visit Kyoto National Museum. It is located in Higashiyama Ward, and is said to be one of the major art museums in Japan. It exhibits pre-modern arts, poet pieces, and a lot more. Admission fee is also fairly priced at ¥520 per person. There are discounts for Kyoto Uni students and there are also open access days. It's a great place all in all. #wintergetaway
