Kobe is a relaxing city that has different feel to it. It reminds you somewhat of being overseas and not in Japan, albeit with all the benefits of Japan! You'll find relaxing seaside promenades, a Chinatown and insightful architecture. Kobe is a port city and warmly embraces its past by preserving several remnants of its past bustle. Starting from the seaside promenade, you'll find relaxing walks along the sea. Here you'll also find the iconic Kobe Port Tower, which stands out on the waterfront. You'll also find a reminder of the Great Hanshin earthquake which wrecked havoc in the city; there's a section of the area of how the waterfront was moved by this phenomenon. Moving inwards you'll find Kobe Chinatown, which is a celebration of the Chinese who first settled the area. Nowadays, you'll find Chinese themed buildings and also streets lined with Sino-Japanese fusion foods. A definite must visit! Finally, at Kitano-ko, there is a collection of foreign styled residences. You'll really feel yourself outside of Japan, but it's still nonetheless a great place to wander around. #japantrip Shenmen I Shenmen Port Tower is reopening, go climb up and enjoy the view. Shenmen Port Tower is now open! It has been three years since the renovation started in September 2021. God gave a celebration for the reopening of the Shinto Port Tower. Tonight at 7 pm, there will be a five minute fireworks event in the American Park. You can leave the tower to see the newly installed outdoor observation deck at the top of the Jerome Tower, which allows you to take a look around the sea. There is also a rotating restaurant inside the observation deck, which takes 30 minutes to rotate around and feels like a good experience. The tower is divided into a material area and a free area, as shown on the cover. The lower part is free, with souvenir shops and restaurants. The upper part is the material area, with a viewing platform, souvenir shops, restaurants, and more. There are two types, including the top layer outdoor observation platform 1200, and excluding the top layer, it is 1000 (adult price). It is recommended to make an appointment online in advance for convenience with on-site visits. There may be a lot of people opening at the beginning of the day, so please note that today's time is limited. I only went to the open-air restaurant in the free area to have a drink of "Shenmen Port Tower", which was a huge serving. It looks great in the photo. I like to eat ice cream.
