🌟[Top of Europe]🌟
In the Swiss Alps, there is a place that captivates the imagination - the Jungfrau, at an altitude of 4,158 meters. It is the "roof" of Europe and a sacred place in the hearts of countless travelers. Let's embark on this unforgettable journey together!
📍**Location Information**
The Jungfrau is located in the Bernese Oberland, about 18 km southeast of Interlaken. It spans the cantons of Bern and Valais and is part of the Bernese Alps.
✨**Attraction Introduction**
The Jungfrau is renowned for its spectacular natural scenery, offering views of rolling mountains, deep valleys, and the longest glacier in Europe - the Aletsch Glacier. From the observation deck at the summit, you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the majestic Alps.
🚞**Transportation Guide**
- **How to Get to the Jungfrau:**
- From Interlaken, take the Golden Pass Line or Bernina Express to Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald.
- Then transfer to the Jungfrau Railway, a historic cogwheel railway that takes you through mountain tunnels to the summit.
- **Suggested Itinerary:**
- Depart from Interlaken in the morning, transfer to the Jungfrau Railway at Kleine Scheidegg, passing the foot of the Eiger and Mönch peaks.
- Upon arrival at the Jungfrau station, visit the "Alpine Sensation" circular corridor to learn about the history of the railway and the magnificent scenery of the Alps.
- Don't miss the ice sculpture exhibition in the Ice Palace and the outdoor snow hiking.
🏨**Accommodation Recommendations**
- **Interlaken**: Located on the way to the Jungfrau, there are many hotels and inns to choose from. We recommend the Victoria Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa, a five-star luxury hotel with an excellent location and comfortable accommodations.
- **Lauterbrunnen**: If you want to be closer to nature, you can stay in Lauterbrunnen. The Hotel Belvédère is a good choice, offering traditional Swiss-style rooms and beautiful mountain views.
🏞️**Nearby Attractions**
- **Schilthorn**: From Mürren, take the cable car to the top of Schilthorn, the filming location of the 007 movie "On Her Majesty's Secret Service," which also features a revolving restaurant.
- **Lauterbrunnen Valley**: Home to 72 famous waterfalls, the most famous of which is Staubbach Falls.
- **Grindelwald**: A charming Swiss town where you can enjoy skiing or summer paragliding.

Swiss small poor travel! Money-saving strategy!
1
Who says Switzerland is not fun in winter!! It's too beautiful! There are snow mountains and greenery
This time I spent about 7k RMB in total (see the last picture)
Play: Use Interlaken as a transit station, and return to a place every day. The advantage of this is that it is very flexible. Everyone knows that Swiss weather depends on luck. In this way, you only need to decide where to go according to the weather of the day
Transportation
The plane was bought more than a month in advance. Zurich to go, Geneva to return
Local transportation decisively swiss pass, very fragrant, tired can take the bus at any time, golden train to see where good can get off directly
Hotel
Living in the small town of Wilderswil, which is only 6 minutes away from Interlaken train, you can also take the bus from Interlaken ost. There is not much to eat in the town, usually buy in Interlaken. But the town has no light pollution and is very quiet, the stars are super good at night! The hotel faces the Jungfrau, and the snow mountain is just outside the window when the weather is good
Exchange money
Just find a UBS and settle in francs is the real-time exchange rate. One of my great pleasures in Switzerland is to compare the exchange rates in various places, really only UBS has no handling fee
Play
1 Day 1: Play in Zurich, stay in Interlaken on the same day. Zurich train station can store bags, there are many notes can be flipped. It was New Year's Eve that day, and the town's fireworks were quite good
2 Day 2: Interlaken round trip Zermatt (Matterhorn). The weather is super good, but my friends and I have high anti. The winter reflection there is frozen and covered by snow, and it is very dangerous to go there without professional shoes, I suggest everyone to consider life safety
3 Day 3: Interlaken - Golden Train Lucerne - Rigi. Rigi is really beautiful, although it is cloudy, it may be my favorite mountain, if conditions permit, take a cruise is great!4 Day 4: Interlaken round trip Grindelwald (First Mountain and Dream Slope), stay in Geneva at night. The paragliding and projects were cancelled due to the strong wind that day, but the scenery is really good. Remember to check the last cable car down the mountain time

Beautiful alpine village nestled in the mountains with an amazing view of the Jungfrau valley and Lauterbrunnen down below. Taking the train up to Wengen will guarantee you a lovely view of Lauterbrunnen.
The village has shops, attractions and amenities within walking distance. Though, if you do decide to get a resort/hotel further up, be sure to ask for shuttle cars, the upwards slopes are no joke.
Our hotel had a lovely view of the cable car rides up to Männlichen, the street below and at night- if you’re willing to stand in the 14 degrees cold (even in summer) you can get a good picture of the night sky!
Of course, we couldn’t stay in Wengen without visiting Männlichen and her famous Royal Walk- a short hike of 1.7km, with elevations up to 80-120m up/down, grants you a truly breathtaking panoramic view. ((the gravel paths can be a bit slippery so be careful on the way down))
The trail from Männlichen to Kleine Scheidegg was an overall downhill walk with a view of Grindelwald down below and the snow capped mountains. But before you embark on this trail be sure to either get something to eat or drink (and the WC of course) at Männlichen as it is quite a long walk (about 4.7km). Near the midpoint you can see Eiger! A truly memorable walk with amazing scenery of the town below and mountains all around us.
Truly a scenic paradise with plenty of activities to do, whether you prefer to simply enjoy the views or try out some of their more thrilling activities. It was my first time visiting Switzerland but certainly won’t be the last!#switzerland #summervacation #nature #alps

Jungfrau | Top of Europe !!!! 🇨🇭
How to get there: There are 2 ways to go up Jungfrau: 1) By the Cable Car (Eiger Express) or 2) By train. We went up by the eiger express (from Grindelswald, interchanging at Terminal), and we came down by train.
Before we went up, we contemplated of joining a tour but given we have done a fair share of research, I ended up going by ourselves.
There are several viewing sites, which ofc include Jungfrau itself, ice palace, exhibition of history of the site construction of Jungfrau, and Lindlt chocolate museum.
It was negative 18 degree celsius on Jungfrau!!! So for those who cannot handle the cold, don’t visit during the winter 😂😂😂
Despite the weather condition was not ideal (no blue sky😣) but i guess it is as expected because we went during the winter ❄️)
Pro tip: I would recommend purchasing the swiss pass as you get discount for the jungfrau ticket and free transport within Switzerland!!

Grindelwald: A crime if you miss it!
Get here by train! We came via Basel and just enjoyed the scenic views from the huge train windows. Lake, villages, mountains, you won’t want to close your eyes!
Coming here in early autumn, we escaped the crowds and could explore First, Eiger, and Jungfraujoch with ease and little wait time. The mountains are magnificent all thru the year! The colours of the landscape will change and hiking to the Balchapsee is an experience in itself. Discovering WCs in the middle of nowhere, up
in the mountains, complete with toilet tissue is something only the Swiss can guarantee!
There are many hotels in this little village and all are within walking distance of the train station. We stayed at the Eiger Aparthotel as we wanted to prepare our own meals to save cost. Bookings come with daily afternoon tea and the variety of cakes, teas and coffees were an absolute treat!
There are many cafes around for fondue and all sorts of local delights. We opted to explore the two supermarkets for raw ingredients and cooked up our own dinners at a fraction of the cost of eating out. Do check out the different yogurt flavours, types of cheese, and cured meats too!
As it is a tourist destination, you can get souvenirs and major brands here. There is a post office (to send postcards) and some banks if you need forex.
My #2023travelwish is to drop by this beautiful place again in the SUMMER and take in the wonders of creation ❤️

Hiking course number 37 that you must go to when you go to Jungfrau🏔️
Jungfrau hiking course 37 that you must go to🏔️ You can walk with Jungfrau 3 on your back💚
There are several famous hiking courses on the way up to Jungfrau. I went on course 37, Eiger Glacier-Kleide Scheineck section✨
Course 37 is a downhill course with Jungfrau 3 on your back, so it is a course that even people with poor stamina (=like me) can easily do! Lake Falboden on the way is an artificial lake created for winter ski slopes, but with Jungfrau in the background, it was just like a painting… 💙
And the yellow train that you take when you arrive at Kleine Scheidegg and go down to Grindelwald runs very slowly, so it was so nice to be able to slowly take in the scenery of Grindelwald village🥰
📍Jungfrau hiking course 37
-. A course that starts from Jungfraujoch and goes down to Eiger Gletscher Station and continues to the next station, Kleine Scheidegg Station. If you take your time taking pictures, it takes about an hour.

Interlaken, charming village in Switzerland!
#2023travelwish
My most unforgettable vacation destination was Interlaken; a charming village beneath of Jungfrau, Switzerland. Surrounded by mountains and nature beauty, sits between the emerald-coloured waters of Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, it has old timber houses and parkland on either side of the Aare River, truly a beatiful and picturesque holiday destination.
Interlaken is also a hotspot for paragliding, hiking and sightseers alike, and the gateway to exploring the Jungfrau region.
My 2023 dream destination would be Kyoto, Japan for stunning Autumn leaves.🍁

Jungfraujoch in Switzerland, 🉐️come once but🉑️only come once
This weekend I went to the Jungfraujoch, which I have admired for a long time.
Some people say that if you haven’t been to Jungfraujoch, you haven’t been to Switzerland.
In actual experience, it may not be that exaggerated.
But the scenery along the way is really beautiful.
We went back and forth from Zurich in the past day, which was enough time, but we might have to leave early and come back later. There is currently a discount on round-trip tickets to Jungfraujoch from Grindelwald (until December this year), and the price with a half-price card is 79 Rupees. "Although it's really not cheap~"
For me, there are three stages of fellowship:
Section 1, Zurich-Interlaken East (need to transfer)
Section 2, Interlaken East-Grindelwald (⚠️)
Section 3, Grindelwald-Jungfraujoch
The train in the second section is very special. The same train will be divided into two sections in the middle and go to two different transfer places. I took the wrong seat and went to another place in Lauterbrunnen. You can also go up the mountain here, but the ticket I originally bought can no longer be used 😂
The third section of the road is a cable car plus a cable car plus a small train. The scenery along the way is very beautiful, very 🇨🇭. The places you stop in the middle are also worth stopping and admiring. They all have very different scenery.
After going up the mountain, in addition to the snow-capped mountains, there are also some more cultural attractions. Does this feel more ordinary? But with this experience of seeing such beautiful snow-capped mountains and glaciers, I already felt that the trip was worthwhile. Due to ticket restrictions, we returned the same way we came.
If you don’t have friends who bought this special ticket, you can go down the mountain via Lauterbrunnen. The scenery of this town is also very beautiful. You can see the snow-capped mountains and a beautiful small waterfall. In addition, taking a photo here with chocolate and snow-capped mountains feels more fitting (?)

Jungfraujoch at its finest!

Head to the Lianhu District of Lucerne, where the chocolate workshop hides a sweet secret. Make your own Swiss chocolate, and every bite will taste like happiness. 😊🍫
Embrace the Jungfrau and feel the purity and magnificence of the Alps. Take the cogwheel train to the top of the mountain, and you'll feel like you're in a fairyland. 🚞
On the shores of Lake Geneva, swans swim leisurely, and the reflection of Mont Blanc is clearly visible in the distance. Take a boat ride on the lake and enjoy the gentle breeze on your face. 🦢
During Christmas, the Christmas market in Basel is bustling with activity, with a wide variety of handicrafts and food stalls, and the air is filled with the festive atmosphere. 🎄🎅
In spring and summer, gallop across the green grasslands, in autumn, the forest is dyed golden, and in winter, it is covered with snow... Switzerland is colorful all year round. 🌈
Come on, embark on this journey and experience every unforgettable moment Switzerland has to offer. From sweet chocolate to majestic mountains, this is the perfect blend of nature and culture. 🌱👣

🌈 In the heart of Switzerland, there is a magical place called Jungfrau (Maiden Peak)! At an altitude of 4,158 meters, it is known as the "Top of Europe". Today, let's unveil its mysterious veil together!
🚶 The gateway to Jungfrau is the charming town of Interlaken. With its picturesque lakes and mountains, it feels like a fairytale world at night.🌌
💡 There are two interesting stories about the origin of the name Jungfrau:
① Legend has it that Jungfrau is often shrouded in clouds, like a shy maiden who doesn't want to be seen, hence the name.😳
② Another story says that the nearby Eiger mountain is in love with another peak, but Mönch mountain always stands between them. Therefore, Eiger is like a maiden waiting for her love, hence the name Jungfrau.💑
🌸 Recommended seasons for visiting:
🔥 July and August are peak season, with many activities, but also the most expensive.
💰 May and June, and September and October are shoulder seasons, with moderate prices and high value for money.

Spring (March-May) is ideal for flower viewing, summer (June-August) is perfect for mountain biking and lakeside hiking, autumn (September-November) is suitable for hiking adventures and wine tasting, and winter (December-February) is the best time for skiing and spa treatments.
Transportation recommendations: Switzerland's public transportation system is highly developed. Consider purchasing a Swiss Pass, which allows unlimited travel on trains, buses, and boats within Switzerland, offering convenience and ease.
Currency and prices: Switzerland's currency is the Swiss franc, and some cities accept euros. Switzerland has a relatively high cost of living, so it's recommended to prepare a budget beforehand.
IV. Itinerary suggestions
For first-time visitors to Switzerland, it's recommended to allocate 4-6 days to experience famous attractions like Jungfrau, Interlaken, and Lucerne. If you have more time, consider a 10-day itinerary to explore Switzerland's natural beauty and cultural heritage in depth.
Whether you're a nature lover or a cultural explorer, Switzerland offers an unforgettable travel experience. Come to Switzerland and embark on a dreamy Alpine adventure!

The Top of Europe - Jungfrau
After six years, I embarked on another journey to the Swiss alpine snow peaks, this time to the Jungfrau, which stands at an altitude of 4,158 meters.
It is said that although the Jungfrau is known as the "Top of Europe," it is not the highest peak in Europe. The highest peak in Europe is Mont Blanc, located on the border between France and Italy, with an altitude exceeding 4,800 meters, earning it the title "Roof of Europe."
The Swiss have used titles like "Top of Europe" and "Queen of the Alps" to promote Jungfrau, and they have built the highest-altitude railway station in Europe (at 3,454 meters) to make Jungfrau a highly sought-after Swiss tourist destination, attracting over a million visitors annually.
Taking the mountain cable car down, you can overlook the beautiful scenery of alpine meadows and cottages from above. The final segment of the cogwheel train also stops at a viewing platform, where you can see the stunning views of blue skies, snow-capped mountains, and glaciers through large observation windows.
If you're lucky and not disturbed by wind, rain, or fog at the summit, you can enjoy the breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains surrounded by blue skies and white clouds.

The Jungfrau Peak is stunningly beautiful on a sunny day, I'm so lucky
It rained on my first day in Switzerland🌧️, but then the next day when I went up to the Jungfrau Peak🏔️, it was clear skies. Ahhh, who can understand this feeling, I'm so fortunate😭. Moreover, right after we descended, the fog started to roll in at the summit🌫️. Thank you to the lucky goddess for her care.
Jungfraujoch, Top of Europe, is truly worth the visit~
👉🏻Take the cable car🚠 from Grindelwald Grund, remember to sit at the back of the cable car, facing the rear! I suggest sitting on the right side for a better view! As the cable car slowly ascends, you can see the dreamy slopes of Grindelwald⛰️. Then transfer to a train🚞, which goes through a tunnel with no views, but the train will stop for five minutes at a viewing platform for everyone to get off and take photos.
We went up the mountain in the morning, and first had a meal to replenish our energy, otherwise, you might feel a bit of altitude sickness. The curry chicken rice and banana cake at the restaurant on the summit🍴 were quite tasty😋.
There are many photo spots, like the Swiss🇨🇭 flag frames and such. Taking photos with the red Swiss flag in the white snow looks really beautiful~
Then on the way down the mountain, you can once again enjoy the slopes of Grindelwald from the cable car. The glass on the cable car we took down was a bit cleaner🥹, allowing us to see even more clearly, a very satisfying experience~
The most famous peak in the Alps is undoubtedly the Jungfrau, known as the 'Top of Europe' and the 'Roof of Europe,' a name familiar even to those who have never set foot in Europe. The night before, we had already arrived in Grindelwald, where we enjoyed the sunrise and sunset over the Bernese subrange, as well as the enchanting night view of Grindelwald. The town has a quaint train station that takes you to Kleine Schidegg, from where you can transfer to the Jungfrau Railway and head straight to Jungfraujoch.
The Aletsch Glacier, at 22.6 kilometers long and covering an area of 117.6 square kilometers, is shrinking every year. This millennia-old glacier has been included in the UNESCO World Natural Heritage list.

It's the Jungfrau in Switzerland, convincing one after another
In the heart of the Swiss Alps lies a secret that makes the heart race - the Jungfrau, a sanctuary for mountaineers and a dreamland for every traveler. Standing here, it feels as if you can touch the sky with your hand, and every breath is filled with freedom and purity.
Attractions not to be missed: A dreamy experience touching the clouds
• Jungfrau Railway: The journey from Kleine Scheidegg, through the sheer cliff tunnel between the Eiger and Mönch peaks, to the Jungfrau station, is an adventure that shakes the soul. The scenery along the way unfolds like a slowly spreading landscape painting, overwhelmingly beautiful.
• Sphinx Observatory: Standing at one of the highest train stations in Europe, with a 360-degree panoramic view, you can gaze at the continuous snow-capped mountains and feel the pride of 'being at the top and looking down on all the other mountains'.
• Ice Palace exploration: Delve into the glacier's interior to visit this art palace carved by nature, where every ice wall and every ice sculpture tells a story of millions of years.
Detailed address:
The Jungfrau is located in the Bernese Oberland region of the Swiss Alps, near the town of Interlaken, with its highest peak at an altitude of 4,158 meters.
Transportation tips:
• Train: Take the train from major Swiss cities such as Zurich and Geneva to Interlaken, then transfer to Kleine Scheidegg, and finally take the Jungfrau Railway to the top of the mountain.
• Self-driving: After driving to Interlaken, you can park your car in the parking lot and take public transportation up the mountain. Due to the winding mountain roads and complex winter road conditions, non-professional drivers are advised to choose self-driving cautiously.
Food recommendations:
• Edelweiss Restaurant (Restaurant Schynige Platte): Located on the mountainside, it offers authentic Swiss cheese fondue and grilled meats, with the snowy mountains outside the window, a double enjoyment of food and view.
• Summit Café: A simple yet cozy choice, a steaming cup of coffee or chocolate, paired with a piece of Swiss cake, is enough to dispel the chill at high altitudes.
Recommended attractions nearby:
• Grindelwald: Known as the 'Pearl of the Alps', the town's colorful wooden houses and the surrounding magnificent mountain scenery complement each other, making it an excellent spot for hiking and photography.
• Lauterbrunnen: A valley town with 72 waterfalls, take the cable car to the top of the Staubbach Falls and feel the awe of the cascading waterfalls.
• Interlaken: As the gateway to the Jungfrau, it is not only convenient for shopping but also a popular spot for extreme sports such as paragliding and skydiving, where excitement and beauty coexist.
Every journey to the Jungfrau is a purification of the soul. Here, time seems to slow down, allowing one to forget the hustle and bustle and immerse oneself in the embrace of nature. Remember to bring your camera to capture this eternal beauty, making the Jungfrau the most shining chapter in your travel memories.
