Golden City of India
After a 12 hour long bus journey through the highways of Rajasthan, I found myself standing in Jaisalmer. Known as the 'Golden City of India', Jaisalmer is a small city in the western Indian state of Rajasthan, right in the heart of the Thar Desert. Standing on a ridge of yellow sandstone, this city is crowned by the ancient Jaisalmer Fort, the one I grew up knowing as 'Sonar Kella'.
Despite the searing heat, the vibrant colors of the city would cause phosphenes in your eyes as the magnificent fort seem to glow like a beacon. As you would walk through the narrow, dusty alleys of the Sonar Killa, the lively energy of the people around you would lift your spirits puting a big damn smile on your face.

GOLDEN CITY 💛🌟
Jaisalmer is a former medieval trading center and a princely state in the western Indian state of Rajasthan, in the heart of the Thar Desert. Known as the "Golden City," it's distinguished by its yellow sandstone architecture. Dominating the skyline is Jaisalmer Fort, a sprawling hilltop citadel buttressed by 99 bastions. Behind its massive walls stand the ornate Maharaja's Palace and intricately carved Jain temples.

Jaisalmer, the "Golden City", is on the westernmost frontier of India in the state of Rajasthan. A magnificent fort looming over the city, picture-postcard vistas of sand dunes and an array of illuminated sandstone buildings, ride camels in the Thar desert is really is really amazing. #givethanks #travelinspiration #couplestrip #historicallandmarks #worldheritage #newyearstrip #scenicspotguide #unforgettableexperiences

Walking in Jaisalmer
#travellerswonderland
India's famous four-color castles, White City, Blue City, Orange City, and Golden City, are all themed with specific colors. The city even issued a decree that newly built houses can only have a single color.
Jaisalmer is a golden city with desert as its theme. Walking around Jaisalmer, you will see various interesting phenomena. Cows are eating vegetables sold by vendors, cows put their heads in the door of Jaisalmer's house and look around, the owners of camel carts are soliciting business, and children are dancing happily. This is the golden city. Full of warmth and joy.
It can be said that Jaisalmer is a must-visit attraction when coming to India. Don’t miss it, there will be surprises.

Jaisalmer Fort
#travellerswonderland
When you come to Jaisalmer, you can see the stunning Jaisalmer Fort on the hill. It is a golden castle that is called the landmark and pride of Jaisalmer.
Jaisalmer Fort does not require tickets and can be visited for free. There are many tall buildings in the center of the castle, which are visually stunning. Of course, the color of all the buildings is gold, the golden color of the desert.
On the city wall, you can overlook the urban area of Jaisalmer and take many beautiful photos.
Jaisalmer is not far from the border, close to Pakistan, and is surrounded by desert, but it does not affect the prosperity here. There are many souvenir shops in the castle, offering a variety of exquisite souvenirs for tourists to choose from.
The castle is mainly restaurants, and street food is concentrated at the gate outside the castle. Of course, cars are inaccessible due to the narrow roads in the castle.
The castle can be visited for four hours, so there is no need to be nervous. Please enjoy it slowly. The beautiful castle is worth recommending.

Gadisar Lake
#travellerswonderland
Gadisar Lake is a very important attraction in Jaisalmer, close to the city and a two-kilometer walk away. There are Indian temples on the shore near the city. Jaisalmer is called the Golden City, so the buildings here are also golden, the same color as the desert.
There are many pigeons here, and many Indians will come to feed and feed these animals. You will also see many stray dogs. Don’t worry about them. The animals are well taken care of and there is plenty of food.
There are some buildings on the lake floating on the water, a very amazing landscape, and trees are also soaked in the water.
It takes two hours to walk around. It is still very enjoyable. The scenery is beautiful and it is worth recommending.

If you are looking for an adventure look no further than the #Thar #Desert in Rajasthan. I opted for a #camel ride among the dunes…on what was apparently the ugliest camel in the desert. ;) Upon arrival in the city of #Jaisalmer you will be greeted by a number of agents offering desert trips that can either span a day or a couple of nights. Do your research beforehand and decide how much you want to pay. Bargain down. #WinterGetaway

The life in the old town of Jesmea is incomparably rich and colorful. People here live in the next door, living a simple, monotonous daily life. Walking through the old town, you can feel the rich ethnic customs of eastern India.
Walk in the city, life is simple and beautiful. People live a lifeless day, children play in the streets, cheers and laughter everywhere.
Adam Yue.
Jesmea, a quiet, peaceful city in the deepest desert of Rajasthan in northwestern India. Because the buildings in the city are mostly yellow, they are affectionately called the "Golden City" by the world.
The center of the street is surrounded by yellow lighthouses. There are very few people coming and going, so it is very quiet. Even as time goes by, the appearance of the building will become blurred, but it can still be seen in its ancient and meticulous carvings.
Adam Yue.
Jessamaer is the second colored city in Rajasthan that we came to after Jaipur. Since the buildings in the city are all built from yellow sandstone, they have the reputation of Golden City.
When the evening comes, the sun shines on the stone, turning each piece into gold, the whole castle is shrouded in a golden haze, and the people and cows walking between them are dyed in gold. Looking from a distance, the castle glows like a palace made of pure gold in mythology, reflecting the luxury that no one in the world. It is believed that Jessamaer was originally the palace of heaven, only because of the spell of the magician, and was moved to the desolate desert of Thar desert overnight.
Unlike other castles in Rajasthan, Jesmea's castle is very civilian, and now the fort is still full of residents, and the towering high gates are open to everyone for day and night. The living streets inside and outside the castle have not changed for hundreds of years.
Here, there is almost no colonial culture. Only the rich medieval atmosphere, hollow and curved techniques often appear in palaces and even villages. The native Hindu traditional culture and Islamic culture blend together to form India. The western special color is full of misty colors.
