🇲🇾 Sunset at KK Hyatt Centric
#bestsunset #100WaysOfTravel
If you read reviews on Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu, almost all of their reviews will write about the beautiful sunset views. If you do not have a room with sea view then you can go to their swimming pool to view the sunset from high grounds. The sea view you see is facing South China Sea and you can see the entire horizon from this location. There is also a rooftop bar right next to the pool so you can come here early to get a nice spot. If you are nearby at the sea harbour area, you can also see the sunset too. Please always check the sunset timing and the weather as these factors will make or break a lovely sunset view.

Island hopping in Kota Kinabalu is truly possible! Learn to snorkel!
🏝️ Island Selection
Before coming, I looked at some guides, mainly recommending 4 islands: Mermaid Island, Sapi Island, Manukan Island, and Mamutik Island. The choice was effortless because I only considered the distance It is said that it takes three hours to get to Mermaid Island, which means a six-hour round trip, so I didn't consider it without staying on the island; Sapi Island requires one hour, so two hours for a round trip, and thinking about my seasickness, I gave up. So my choices were narrowed down to Sapi Island and Manukan Island
🌟 Highlights
I signed up for a one-day tour of Sapi + Manukan, starting at 8:30 in the morning, gradually filling up a car, about 10 people, and we were the last two. (It turns out that it's only a 10-minute walk from our hotel to Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal.
Waiting for the speedboat 🚤 at the terminal, it took 15 minutes to reach Sapi, and the trip included a seafood buffet lunch. (Pretty bad
First, we played some water sports at Sapi, and at 1 PM, we moved on to Manukan. There were obviously more fish 🐟 at Manukan, and even my husband, who is usually a landlubber, couldn't resist snorkeling. As for me, lying on the white sand, I was drowsy 😪 and very comfortable, with the ants on the sand being insignificant ☁️
We returned to the terminal around 4:40 PM and went back to the hotel 🏨, changed clothes, and went straight to watch the sunset, which we made in time.
PS. 🏨 The Hyatt Regency Kinabalu is very convenient for transportation, just across the street from Suria Sabah Shopping Mall, where you can buy clothes directly if you didn't bring enough - and there are many restaurants worth checking in nearby: oldtown white coffee (everyone should go, just order anything ), Sin Kee Bak Kut Teh (the dry noodles and bak kut teh are really good), and the seafood 🦞 lobsters really need to be garlic-flavored!!!

4-Day Tour in Sabah | Street Photography in Kota Kinabalu
Guangzhou cannot fly directly to Semporna, many people just use Kota Kinabalu as a transit without staying, but if you have enough time, remember to leave 1 day for a city walk in Kota Kinabalu.
🗺️My 4-day tour itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Kota Kinabalu➡️University of Sabah (Pink Mosque)➡️Floating Mosque➡️Tanjung Aru Beach➡️Gaya Street Night Market
Day 2: Tawau➡️Jellyfish House
Day 3: Island hopping (Mataking Line)➡️Semporna Town
Day 4: Stroll around Semporna Town➡️Fly to Kota Kinabalu➡️Buy souvenirs at Gaya Street➡️Return to home country
🚗Most of the travel times between attractions in the city are about ten minutes, and it's very convenient to take a Grab taxi.
🌈University of Sabah
📍 Universiti Malaysia Sabah, if you only want to see the Pink Mosque, you can navigate to Mosque UMS
🎫10 MYR
⏰No entry after 17:30, the tour takes about 2-3 hours.
Most people go straight to the Pink Mosque for a photo, but I think there are many places to visit on campus.
👍I highly recommend renting an electric skateboard, which is available at the ticket office, for 26 MYR
①The campus is large, and the skateboard is labor-saving.
②There is a dedicated lane, which is safe.
⚠️You will be given a tour map when you buy a ticket. The art gallery closes at 4 o'clock, remember to check the time.
💔The day I went was Friday, they were praying and we couldn't go inside the mosque for a visit, but it was great to take pictures outside.
🌈Floating Mosque
📍Kota Kinabalu City Mosque
🎫5 MYR for taking photos outside; if you want to visit inside, you need to rent clothes, 5 MYR
⏰No entry after 17:00
The blue and white color scheme + water reflection is very beautiful. Similarly, because of Friday prayers, I didn't go in.
🌈Tanjung Aru Beach
📍Tanjung Aru Beach
The sunset is absolutely beautiful‼️It's now the rainy season, the weather is not very good, the clouds are thick, but you can still see the sun dyeing the sea pink. Even in the rainy season, you can imagine how beautiful the sunset clouds would be in summer.
⏰Check the sunset time in advance, there is a bit of traffic on the way to the beach
✅The view from the Sunset Bar at the nearby Shangri-La Hotel is very good, but you need to make a reservation
💔Although there are many tourists, it's not too bad, but there is a night market next door and there will be a smell of garbage
🌈Gaya Street
Morning market: Sunday morning 6:00-12:00
Night market: Every Friday/Saturday 18:00-24:00
I only went to the night market, the snacks and juices are good.
On the way back, there was a 2-hour gap in the transfer, and I also went to Gaya Street. Although there is no morning market, most of the buildings here have graffiti, suitable for taking pictures, and you can buy some souvenirs to take home.
🍜Food Recommendations
✅Hung Jin Rice Shop - Highly recommended‼️
The shop is unremarkable, the decoration is similar to ordinary noodle stalls in China, but the taste is unique and the price is very affordable.
👍Oyster sauce chicken wings, tree vegetable scrambled eggs are a must, each bite is amazing; garlic shrimp balls are also delicious.
⚠️You need to go early, the shop is small and there are few seats.
✅Da Jia Lai Seafood Restaurant
The cream shrimp is a must-try, the remaining sauce is also great with white rice. The egg yolk crab is not bad, suitable for Chinese taste.
If you don't order lobster and pipi shrimp, the per capita cost is 150-200 MYR.
✅CFC Mongkok Restaurant on Gaya Street
Next door is Yifeng Laksa, but it closes at 18:00, so I went to this restaurant temporarily.
The laksa is okay, the durian shaved ice is great. A full cup, the ingredients are generous, and the taste is good.
🏠Accommodation Recommendations
Hyatt Regency Hotel, more than 600 per night, can be directly booked on Ctrip.
The facilities are relatively new, it is a ten-minute drive from the airport, and it is also close to Gaya Street and Hung Jin Rice Shop, you can start a city walk right out of the hotel.
✨Other tips
1️⃣The front desk of the hotel and many shop assistants are Malays, it's best to be able to communicate in simple English
2️⃣Malaysian hotels charge a tax of 10 MYR per night, payable at the hotel

Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu is a brand new hotel just opposite the Suriah Sabah shopping mall. It is so swanky and new, I loved staying in it so much. The front desk and grand entrance is designed by a Japanese artist beautifully incorporating bamboo plants all over.

Excellent service
The hotel's service is very considerate and the front desk reception is very efficient. Especially the waiters in the breakfast room, swimming pool and concierge, from storing luggage after check-out to final retrieval, they provide smiling service throughout the process. They actively help push boxes and confirm taxi license plates until the luggage is put away and the destination is confirmed. The service is very attentive and thoughtful.

"Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu: A Shining Choice in Kota Kinabalu."
"Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu: A Shining Choice in Kota Kinabalu"
During my trip to Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu left a deep impression on me.
The hotel opened in 2022, so it is very new. It is located in the most bustling city center of Kota Kinabalu, with an excellent location. Opposite is Syria Sabah Shopping Center and Jesselton Duty Free, and it is also close to Jesselton Pier and Gaya Street, making shopping and playing extremely convenient.
The hotel is decorated in a Japanese style, with a combination of log and green plants, creating a fresh and natural atmosphere. There are city view, mountain view, and sea view rooms. Although we didn't pay extra to change to a high-floor room, the view outside the window was already good, and there was a small balcony, which gave a pleasant feeling. The guest rooms are simply and comfortably furnished, and the minibar in the room adds a lot of convenience.
However, what attracts me most about the hotel is the ON22 rooftop restaurant & bar. The view here is excellent, the indoor seating is cozy, and the outdoor seating allows you to take in the surrounding scenery. The hotel's swimming pool is right next to the bar, and it feels great to have a drink here after swimming. The restaurant's wine is also worth praising, and the bartender can make special drinks based on your name, which is as fun as opening a blind box. And the 1L gelato is really delicious, bringing great satisfaction to the taste buds. Every moment here is full of surprises and enjoyment, whether it is admiring the surrounding prosperity during the day or feeling the cozy atmosphere on the top floor at night, making this stay experience unique. If you come to Kota Kinabalu, this hotel is definitely the best choice.

In Malaysia! Don't want to check out! So cheap that I doubt my life.
I went to Hyatt Centric in Malaysia for a holiday, and I 😭😭 regretted staying for only two days!
📍Hotel name: Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu (5-star)
·
I really love this hotel 🥰! Although it is not by the sea and does not have its own beach, it is very close to Jesselton Pier, about a 5-10 minute walk 🚶♀️. I saw someone say that they were refused a taxi ride after returning from the sea. There is no such problem if you stay here.

There is a shopping mall opposite, which is very convenient for eating and drinking 😃. The bedding is comfortable, and domestic electronic products in the room do not need to be converted. The breakfast is also of good quality. The infinity pool is beautiful and the pool water is clean. No deposit is required for check-in. However, when checking in, make sure to check whether the tourist tax has been paid. If the hotel is booked online, there is no need to pay again.
·
The hotel facilities are also very good, with a rooftop infinity pool 🏊♀️, gym, etc. The room also has a balcony, domestic + British standard sockets + USB charging interface, disposable toiletries, coffee machine, hair dryer, electric iron, kettle, safe, etc.
·
The price of the hotel is much cheaper compared to various resorts. In short, if you choose to go to sea from Jesselton Pier, you can choose this hotel ~ 👍

The hotel is in a good location, opposite Suria Sabah Shopping Mall, and Jesselton Point and Gaya Street are within walking distance.
The hotel opened in 2022 and is very new overall. The hotel lobby, rooftop pool, and sea view restaurant are all highlights and well designed. The breakfast is quite rich. I like their juice, which is thick and has a good taste.
The hotel is a certain distance from the sea, and there are many buildings in Suria Sabah Shopping Mall in front, so the sea view is not perfect. You can see the hotel building when you take a plane. It is quite eye-catching. It stands tall and is covered with green plants. The rooftop has a hollow pool. If you don't stay in a sea view room, you can go to the rooftop or restaurant to see the sea view. The 22nd floor restaurant and 23rd floor bar form a duplex space, and the pool is outside the bar.

Locked in the Hyatt Regency in Kota Kinabalu
Coming to Kota Kinabalu for a week, I hesitated again and again when choosing a hotel this time. In the end, I decided to go for the new rather than the old, and chose the Hyatt Regency Hotel🏨. The experience was really good!
First of all, we called in advance📞 to confirm that we could check in early, and we checked in at 11 am. Normally, international hotels check in after 3 pm. I chose the Peak View Deluxe Room, which costs 1200 per night including breakfast for two. This breakfast is a must!
Let's talk briefly about the hotel from the aspects of location—room—hotel facilities—breakfast, hoping to help netizens a bit.
First is the location, the hotel is in the center of Kota Kinabalu city, a 15-minute taxi ride from the airport. Living and transportation must be quite convenient. Right across is the Dawn Plaza and duty-free shops, and forward is the Jesselton Pier⛵️, convenient for island-hopping trips. This area is also within walking distance to Gaya Street. There are also many popular restaurants nearby to eat at.
The room I booked was 60 square meters, so it was particularly large. The bathroom is super big, open-style but also has sliding doors. The bed seems very small in this large room. The balcony overlooks the mountain view. If the budget allows, you can also get a sea view. But I feel that I can directly go to the top floor to see the sea view. Moreover, the hotel is still a certain distance from the sea. The hotel comes with a coffee machine, and the minibar is charged. Also, when checking out, they charged me extra for a pack of banana chips💰. These banana chips are not tasty, haha. My friend stayed in a suite, which is 90 square meters, honestly very large, to the extent that 10 people can have a party together. But to stay, I feel that booking a basic room is also okay. After all, the facilities and scenery of this hotel attract me more.
The rooftop of the hotel has a double-sided infinity pool, a duplex dining venue consisting of a breakfast restaurant on the 22nd floor and a rooftop bar on the 23rd floor, where you can enjoy the charming sunset views in the evening and morning, with lounge chairs and a leisure area for a break. The hotel's infinity pool🏊 has a very good view and is very photogenic. It looks especially beautiful at night. If there is enough time, it's really worth watching the sunset🌇 and taking super photogenic pictures. The 24-hour open fitness center has really complete equipment, and the scenery seen while exercising is also particularly good.
Breakfast is the most satisfying part! Adding breakfast for one person costs 80 Malaysian Ringgit, which is equivalent to 127 RMB. Breakfast time is from 6:30-10:30, a long time. But that morning, I had to rush to catch a plane and didn't eat to my satisfaction. I hurriedly grabbed some things. There was also a hidden menu I didn't order. Breakfast had everything, I can only say that without three stomachs, you can't eat it all. Barbecue dim sum🥧, morning wine, fruits, various yogurts, hot dishes, coffee, etc., and the sea view is really a vacation enjoyment. It's really best to include breakfast when booking a room.
That day, I left in a hurry and left a very important toy🐰 at the hotel. I called the hotel and sent an email📩, they promptly helped me find it and kept it for three days, for which I am very grateful. If I come to Kota Kinabalu again, I will choose it again, it was a really good vacation experience!

Kota Kinabalu Seaview Hotel Guide
📍Location: 18, Jln Haji Saman, Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu
🏨Hotel Environment: The rooftop pool and sunset are super beautiful, absolutely beautiful, the breakfast restaurant is also high-rise and very beautiful, you can sit by the window and have a drink, the mood becomes very pleasant
🛏Room Features: This is a mountain view room facing the mountain, it can't be said to be very luxurious but it's okay, the advantage is that the bedroom is very comfortable and the bedding is good👍, the bathroom space is particularly large and enjoyable haha, really speaking of area, it is very large
🎰Design Features: The architectural design of this hotel and Tokyo Edison is the same architect, many natural tropical elements, the pool design is invincible
📝Note tips: One side is mountain and the other side is sea, I never get tired of watching it every day, it's one of the features I really like
