Hankou River Beach | A Romantic Spot in Wuhan
| A Romantic Spot in Wuhan. Hankou River Beach | A Romantic Spot in Wuhan 📸
Hey guys 👋, today I'm recommending the amazing Hankou River Beach in Wuhan 🎉.
Hankou River Beach is the largest river beach in Asia, covering an area of 1.6 million square meters. It is located on the north bank of Wuhan's urban area, adjacent to the scenic Yanjiang Avenue, and facing the Yellow Crane Tower Scenic Area, making it a prime location.
The scenery here is breathtaking 😍. Strolling along the river beach, you can see the mighty river, with its vast waves and refreshing breeze, instantly washing away your worries. On the other side is the bustling cityscape, where the ancient and modern blend together, creating a stunning sight. The river beach is also adorned with lush trees and colorful flowers, resembling a large garden. The spacious square is filled with people flying kites and dancing, exuding vitality and energy.
The evening is even more spectacular, with the sunset casting a golden glow on the river, making it a perfect spot for photography, guaranteed to light up your social media 📷.
The river beach also boasts several unique attractions. For instance, the Wuhan Flood Control Monument, built in 1969, covers an area of 1,160 square meters, with a base height of 4.9 meters and a monument height of 37 meters. At the top of the monument stands a 1.8-meter diameter red star, holding significant historical value. There's also a 3,600-square-meter sunken open-air stage that can accommodate 1,000 people for concerts, surrounded by Han opera mask lamp posts and rest corridors, creating a fantastic atmosphere.
Additionally, the vast flower sea divided by the Erqi Riverside Square is stunning. The upstream section features a single variety of flowers paired with large trees, while the downstream section showcases ornamental grasses paired with large trees, including verbena and zinnias, forming a spectacular plant landscape.
In short, Hankou River Beach is a great place to relax, enjoy the charm of nature, and experience the unique style of Wuhan 🌈. You must come and check it out, and I'm sure you'll fall in love with it 💕.

⚠️ Which main exhibition area is the best to visit?
Each of the three main exhibition areas has its own characteristics, and it's hard to say which is better. Personally, I think Sha Lake Park is more photogenic, with many chrysanthemum landscapes and varieties. Zhongshan Park has a great atmosphere, with strong visitor interaction, special photo oil painting wall scenery, and unique water chrysanthemum landscapes. The River Beach is also very special. If you have time, you can visit all of them. I highly recommend Sha Lake Park and Zhongshan Park.

Hankou River Beach: Winter and Autumn Colors
In winter, Hankou River Beach seems to forget the change of seasons. Instead, it blends the colors of autumn and winter in a unique way, creating a different kind of painting.

Wuhan Golden Autumn Chrysanthemum Exhibition in the season of blooming chrysanthemums.
Annual Wuhan Golden Autumn Chrysanthemum Exhibition 🌼
Wuhan people really love chrysanthemums. Every November, there are large and small chrysanthemum exhibitions in major parks, and the chrysanthemums will be given to citizens for free after the exhibition. 👍🏻
I caught the good weather on the weekend, and there were so many people coming to see the chrysanthemums on the river beach that I could hardly walk, so I could only take some close-up photos of the flowers. 📷

3 days and 3 nights, Wuhan is a city that you will miss after leaving
February is not the best season to visit Wuhan.
Starting from Zhejiang, as a working person, I could only make good use of the night time✈️. Compared to the 7-8 hours by high-speed train🚅 to Wuhan, taking a flight✈️ is still a better choice to save time.
Overall feeling: In Wuhan, it is still a bit exhausting to travel between different districts, and it's a pity that the short time doesn't allow for a full experience of the city. I could only choose to remember the beauty of this place within the limited time. Since I was there, I chose to visit the places I wanted to see; the food culture of a city is an important way to get to know and remember it, so it must be fully experienced.
🏠For accommodation, I chose a place near the subway station on Hanjiang Road, which was convenient for getting around.
Day1️⃣ Li Huangpi Road—Shanhaiguan Road (food)—Hankou River Beach—Gude Temple—Hanjiang Road Pedestrian Street—Xiaomin's Food Stall
A day of city walk, I had hot dry noodles in the morning, and the randomly chosen ones were still delicious! I walked around Li Huangpi Road, then went to Shanhaiguan Road nearby for lunch. The lotus root soup was super tasty, and the stir-fried shredded beans were a new experience worth trying. Soda bao, fresh fish paste soup noodles... We overate there, then went to Hankou River Beach, followed by Gude Temple, which was crowded! In the evening, I went to Hanjiang Road Pedestrian Street, didn't queue for too long, and had a drink at Cha Yan Yue Se. For dinner, I went to Xiaomin's Food Stall, where we ordered four dishes for two people and couldn't finish them all, but still wanted to order more! The chicken feet were soft and sticky, very delicious, but the dishes were quite spicy, so those with sensitive stomachs should be careful⚠️. I wanted to order crab leg noodles, but they were sold out when I got there😿. Later, I ordered a takeout from the hotel, and it was still very tasty!
Day2️⃣ Yellow Crane Tower—Dacheng Road—Hubei Provincial Museum
For breakfast, I had takeout shaomai and tofu skin, which were delicious! A must-try! After visiting the Yellow Crane Tower, I went to Dacheng Road for lunch. I had lunch at Xiaoqiu Dumplings, and there were many other food options around! After eating, I went to the Hubei Provincial Museum, which I had booked in advance, and even the performances inside required advance booking! It was amazing. In the evening, I ate at the snack street, and after returning, I also ordered crab leg noodles for takeout, which was stunning.
Day3️⃣ Casual stroll—Return trip
In the morning, I casually strolled around and ate, then bought some Lengji marinated flavors to eat on the way, highly recommended! I loved the marinated duck and sour beans!
I can't forget the unexpected walk over the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge in Wuhan, but it was still worth the visit. Other regrets will be saved for next time~

Vegetables and Cherry Blossoms & Wuhan Dijiao Park & Hankou River Beach & Fuhe Wetland
On the weekends of spring, I always feel restless at home, and no matter what, I want to go out for a stroll, to see the grass grow and the orioles fly, to feel the spring breeze on my face, and not to waste the beautiful springtime!
Since joining the wild vegetable picking army last week, I always carry a small shovel, gloves, bags, and a full set of tools in the car, ready to take some wild vegetables home whenever I get the chance.
Efficient management is a requirement in the workplace, and weekends are no exception. In half a day, I actually moved to three different places, checked in at Hankou River Beach Phase III, Dijiao Park, and Fuhe Wetland, dug wild vegetables, admired cherry blossoms, satisfied my cravings, and filled my heart and eyes with joy.
Tips:
1. For self-driving, navigate to the Badminton Hall of Jiangtan Phase III, Hankou River Beach Phase III, where you can directly drive into the park's parking lot and park along the internal road on both sides. The parking lot is quite busy on weekends.
2. The reed area by the river is blocked by a wire fence, but there is an opening under the big steps, where you can directly enter. There are wild goosefoot plants everywhere, but they are all quite small; I wonder if they will grow bigger after the rain.
3. The cherry blossoms in Dijiao Park are truly beautiful and definitely rank high in Wuhan, but parking in the afternoon is really difficult. You can get there directly by Line 1, so I suggest that everyone try not to drive if possible.
4. Fuhe Wetland is a sea of green, with large patches of alfalfa and shepherd's purse, and I also saw wild oats. The dandelions have matured, so I dug some up to make tea. I picked some mugwort leaves on the inside of the embankment, but the wild onions were too small to dig.
