I flew to Busan just for these photos.
Busan was the biggest surprise of my trip to Korea. The weather was great during my two days there. Unlike Seoul, Busan has the unique charm of a coastal city. If you have enough time, be sure to spend a few more days here!
📸 These are the photos I took of Busan. Here are the locations:
1️⃣ A classic Busan photo spot
📍 Near Cheongsapo Station. Many people take photos nearby.
2️⃣ Capsule train and lighthouse
📍 Search for "Ocean Breeze" on Google. After arriving, walk a little further up the slope. You'll see an abandoned building. The photo spot is on the platform in front of the building.
3️⃣ Capsule train and village
📍 Search for "Simmian" on Google. It's next to this store.
4️⃣5️⃣ My favorite Busan night view photo spot
📍 Search for "Cafe Cloud Hill" on the map.
6️⃣ Gamcheon Culture Village
📍 The observation deck on the commercial street of the culture village.
7️⃣ Capsule train and jelly sea
📍 Search for "Dalmaji-gil Observation Deck" on the map.
8️⃣ Capsule train at sunset
📍 The main road where the first photo was taken. The sidewalk is on the side of the capsule train.

As you wander through narrow alleys lined with vibrant murals, street art, and quaint houses, you’re treated to panoramic views of Busan stretching all the way to the port. Whether you're exploring the artwork or enjoying the scenic views, Gamcheon Cultural Village is a must-visit for anyone looking to capture the charm of Busan from above.

Gamcheon Culture Village - Vibrant Colors
Gamcheon Culture Village, with its rows of colorful terraced houses along the mountainside, is often referred to as 'The Santorini of South Korea' or Busan's Santorini. The village is beautifully decorated with vibrantly-painted murals and interesting sculptures. The alleyways, staircases, and winding streets add an exotic charm, making it a picturesque place for visitors to explore.
To get there, take Line 1 to Toseong Station (exit 6). Walk straight, turn right at the first junction onto Kkachigogae-ro, and walk forward 140 meters to reach the bus stop. Take bus Sakha 1/1-1 to Gamcheon Culture Village stop, which takes about 10-15 minutes. After getting off the bus, walk back 30 meters in the direction the bus came from and turn left to reach the entrance of Gamcheon Culture Village.
By taxi, it takes about 10 minutes from BIFF Square, Jagalchi Market, or Jagalchi Station; 20 minutes from Busan Station; or 40-45 minutes from Haeundae Beach.

September in Busan 🍂
#autumnseason
September is one of the best times to visit Busan, as the summer heat fades and the weather becomes pleasantly mild. The city’s beaches, like Haeundae and Gwangalli, are still warm enough for a swim or a relaxing day by the water, but with fewer crowds compared to peak summer. The cooler evenings make it ideal for exploring Busan’s vibrant neighborhoods such as Gamcheon Culture Village, markets and scenic spots.
The beginning of autumn also brings the first signs of changing leaves in the city’s parks, like Busan Citizens Park and Geumjeongsan Mountain, offering a glimpse of the coming fall. September is also the month for festivals, such as the Busan International Fireworks Festival, making the city even more lively and exciting. Whether you're into beach relaxation, hiking, or cultural exploration, September in Busan offers a perfect mix of activities with refreshing weather to match.

The Colourful Gamcheon Culture Village in Busan 🌈
If you’re visiting Busan in South Korea, then Gamcheon Culture Village should definitely be on your list of places to visit! It’s famous for it’s colourful houses, street art, shops and cafes.
The area used to be a shanty town, housing refugees of the Korean War in the 1950s. In 2009, the government helped plan the Gamcheon Culture Village Project to transform the village. Local artists, students and community members all came together to make it into what we see today. It’s now one of the most popular tourist sites in all of South Korea!
Getting there:
🚇 The closest subway station is Toseong Station. Leave through exit 6 and you will see signs to the village.
🚌 Then you will need take the green minibus 2-2-2 or 1-1.
🚕 Alternatively, take a taxi. It’s a very steep hill so walking is not really recommended to get up there.
There is one main path that takes you all the way around the village, but I recommend walking down the smaller and narrower paths and getting lost! You never know what you will find. There are so many souvenir shops, small coffee shops and even museums. There is so much street art that it’s worth exploring to see what you can find.

World Slow Travel Busan 48 Hours Classic No-Miss Itinerary Planning
Recommended to stay near Busan Station, there is a street full of hotels right outside the station, making it convenient to go anywhere.
day1️⃣
Hope 192 Stairs near Busan Station
Popular community cable car 🚡, take the bus from Busan Station for 20 stops to get there (the distance between stops is very short, mountain road). This is also a mural village, you can go early to stroll around.
Haeundae 'Little Kamakura' seaside small train, capsule train
Navigation: Haeundae Blueline Park (there is a direct bus from Busan Station, the subway is far), you can take the seaside train or capsule train, 'Little Kamakura' is at Cheongsapo Station. Find a grilled scallop or grilled eel restaurant by the sea at Cheongsapo and eat in a small building by the sea, it's very enjoyable.
Squat in a sea view toilet 🚽, have a cup of coffee at the world's highest Starbucks
X THE SKY by Haeundae Beach, the elevator going up feels like a time tunnel, there is a sea view glass floor on the 100th floor, if you are afraid of heights, crawl over it. Don't forget to visit the highest sea view toilet at the world's highest Starbucks.
Gwangalli SPA LAND Jjimjilbang
This is a newly opened place, most jjimjilbangs are concentrated near Gwangalli and Haeundae. Be sure to buy a portion of hot spring eggs and sweet rice wine! The first floor is traditional jjimjilbang, the second floor has very unique jjimjilbang rooms, highly recommended!
For dinner, go to the alley opposite Busan Station, there is an old pork soup restaurant 'Bonjeon Pork Soup', always has long queues, good value for money and taste, but it closes at 8:30 PM, go early.
day2️⃣
Crystal Seaside Cable Car 🚡 ❗️Not for those afraid of heights
Busan Station is very close to Songdo, mainly for the seaside cable car here. We bought the Busan Pass which can be exchanged for a regular ticket, added 5,000 KRW to take the crystal cable car.
Dragon Palace to feel the sea breeze
A viewing platform that looks like a dragon, separate ticket required, we bought the Busan Pass card, directly free.
Take the Busan city bus to Baeksan Beach Cultural Village, there are many boutique shops here, you can eat sea view ramen with the sea breeze.
When tired of walking, find a café to sit and watch the sea, highly recommend the foot bath sea view café.
A few kilometers up the mountain from Baeksan Beach, there is a sea view café featured in Busan promotional videos, sit on the steps, drink coffee and watch the sea, there are band performances in the evening.
Gamcheon Culture Village
The Little Prince of Busan is here! This time I changed into Hanbok and took a photo with the Little Prince.
A dopamine-colored small village, the residential clusters built along the mountain are very impressive.
A very popular shop in the village makes movie animation books, you have to queue for a long time, if you want to take photos, at least leave 1 hour, it's very fun with friends.
The small bus up and down Gamcheon is also part of the experience, the mountain road is very steep, almost drifting at the hairpin turns.
Buy the Busan Pass 48h card, all the essence of Busan can be directly exchanged for tickets, plan your route well, it's really worth it, recommend choosing the physical card, the card is also a bus card, with 3,000 KRW inside, you can recharge at convenience stores when used up, you can also check the balance on the recharge machines in Seoul, not sure if it can be used directly in Seoul, feel free to add 🫰

There’s warmth that covers the whole village,

The artistic atmosphere lives on in the alleys where the village of pastel-colored houses is beautifully lined up like a maze.

My First Solo Trip to Busan Cultural Village
This time, I went on a solo trip to Busan, South Korea!
I used buses and trains for transportation!
Although it took nearly two hours to reach my destination because the place I was staying was far away, it didn't bother me at all.
The cultural village has several street stalls and a few shops where you can buy souvenirs⭐️
I bought a Little Prince phone case.
Since there are many uneven paths, I recommend wearing comfortable shoes😊

🇰🇷Find the Little Prince at GAMCHEON Culture Village🫅🏻✨
Annyeong👋🏻 Gamcheol Culture Village or the Little Prince Village👑 is a popular tourist attraction in Busan that Thais who visit Korea must check in at. When we went, it was April, which was spring🍃. The weather was nice and cool, around 18 degrees🥶
🚘We traveled by calling a taxi from the Kakao app. When we arrived, we saw a large village entrance sign. This village has many colors🌈, giving a feeling like being in Santorini. Wherever you look, there are only pastel colors. There are many painted patterns about the Little Prince on the walls🥰. There are many photo spots here. The path is quite steep because it is near the mountains⛰️
🚶🏻♀️➡️As you walk further, you will see a long line of people🫨. Because this point is a landmark of the statue of the Little Prince and the fox😲 that everyone wants to take a picture with. The view you will get will be both the mountains and the colorful village🫠. It is very worth waiting in line for a long time🥹
🎨And along the way, there are many cute souvenir shops, such as a postcard shop🎑 with lots of Little Prince designs💕 We bought 1 for 5,000 won to write and send back to someone in Thailand😊 And the seller said that it would take about 2 weeks to send from Korea to Thailand, but now it's been a month and we still haven't received it, so we're still waiting 🥹~~~~
Before going back, we stopped to buy more souvenirs, a T-shirt with a Little Prince print🫅🏻 a wind-up doll🧸 and stopped to buy some food, totaling about 50,000 won😌

Korea's 'Little Shanghai' | 'Busan'
| 'Busan'. Busan is the second largest city in Korea and also an international metropolis. It is known for its deep-water good harbor and is the largest port in Korea, making it one of the logistics centers in Asia.
Whether it's the mountainous and river scenery or its maritime views, it's an ideal place for tourism and sightseeing.
Best Season for Tourism:
The best season to visit Busan is in spring and autumn.
During these times, the sky in Busan is clear, and the climate is pleasant.
In spring, the sun shines brightly, and flowers bloom in abundance.
In autumn, the fall leaves decorate the world in colorful and rich hues.
Experience Busan's most representative tourist attractions:
Gamcheon Culture Village
Known as 'Busan's Santorini' for its unique and artistic scenery, this place was once a rundown slum. Later, with the push of Busan's 'Alley Art Project,' it became a well-known cultural spot.
The village's murals are the work of volunteers from around the world, attracting countless tourists for photos.
Haeundae
One of the eight scenic views of Korea, an important venue for domestic and international cultural events, the water temperature at Haeundae stays between 45 to 50 degrees Celsius throughout the year.
Bathing in the hot springs here can make the body healthier.
The sprawling beach is covered with thick fine sand, soft and smooth to the touch. As night falls, under the warm yellow lights of Busan, the beach becomes even more tranquil.

Busan Gamcheon Culture Village.
I strongly recommend getting the 2,000 won stamp tour map from the tourist center because it provides a route that allows you to see all the hidden gems of the village. The path was not difficult to navigate at all. I spent a total of 3 hours there. Don't miss the photo deck on the 4th floor of the community center.
Conveniently located near public transportation, this wonderful cultural village is worth the many walks and numerous steps when you go. You can spend an hour here or get lost in the back alleys for half a day. There is a lot of culture and art, and an interesting history as the village was once a refugee camp. It's a good idea to pay a small fee to get a stamp collection map because there is a good route to follow.
There are plenty of opportunities to take fun photos with noticeable scenic backgrounds and amazing murals. Many tourists enjoy the on-site costume rental that adds to the fun. Food and drink options are mostly a variety of bakeries/cafes. There are a few street food vendors, including a man cooking food with a butane torch over a fire grill! It's visually interesting and quite tasty. I highly recommend this place for a great half-day outing.
A wonderful cultural site; perfect for Instagram-worthy views. Highly recommended. Riding up and down is quite interesting; it took skill to maneuver the small bus around sharp corners and small streets.

For this seaside train trip, I want to go to Busan 10,000 more times!
Just finished a week's trip to Korea, and Busan left a deep impression on me! 🤩 Compared to Seoul, Busan is not only more cost-effective but also has beautiful seascapes that only exist in animations. 🎉 For the sake of taking this romantic seaside train, I want to go to Busan 10,000 more times! 🚂
🌊 Busan Two-Day Tour Guide:
Day1: Busan Station - Gamcheon Culture Village - Hujeon Village
Day2: Haeundae - Capsule Train - Busan Gwangalli Beach - Seomyeon Market
🚃 Gwangalli Beach Travel Tips:
1. The capsule train has two routes, one from Gwangalli Beach to Oepo (Haeundae), and the other from Oepo (Haeundae) to Gwangalli Beach. The second route is more crowded, but the first route is also great~ 😊
2. If you want to experience the seaside train, just navigate directly to Gwangalli Beach. Remember to use papayo navigation for more accuracy! 🧐 There are also many coffee shops near Gwangalli Beach, perfect for enjoying a coffee while watching the seaside sunset. 🌅
3. The photo spot in the first picture is on a slope looking towards the sea with a telephoto lens, just wait for the seaside train to pass by and snap it, there will be a train every few minutes~ 🚄
4. Next to this spot, using a telephoto lens to shoot the capsule train also produces great photos, and you can capture the beautiful sunset glow during sunset! 🌇
5. It is recommended to take the capsule train around 1 pm for better lighting and more photogenic shots~ 🤳
Come to Busan and experience this romantic seaside journey! 😘

Busan Gamcheon Culture Village....The journey to find the little prince and the fox
I came here to find the little prince and his tame fox.
To find the little prince, you have to walk up the mountain, looking at various colorful murals along the way, and slowly immersing yourself in the fairy tale of the little prince. Finally, at the corner of a wide field of vision, you find the little boy who has been meditating facing the colorful village. The prince and the desert fox beside him are lonely and looking for friends.
The little prince said: Every adult was once a child, but only a few people remember it.
The fox said: Human beings have no time to understand other things. They always go to the store to buy ready-made things, but there is no store in the world where you can buy friends.
As for how the Little Prince and the Fox ended up in Gamcheon Cultural Village in Busan, you can only ask the local artists.
Before I could find the answer, I found that everyone was queuing up, sandwiched between the little prince and the fox to take photos and check in. I became one of them and forgot to pursue this story.
Gamcheon Cultural Village was originally a refugee village. In order to inject vitality into a village with an aging population and stimulate local economic activities through tourism, the Busan authorities convened artists from all walks of life to bring the story of the little prince into the village, and asked each household in the village to decorate their houses. Painted in various colors. From then on, the little prince has been here forever, helping everyone find their way into the fairy tale world.

My Trip at Gamcheon Culture Village Busan
#localescapes
Gamcheon Culture Village started as a base for the hardships of the Korean War refugees in the 1950s and is a place that has kept the history of Busan as it is, an aspect and trace of the modern history of the nation. The terraced group housing arrangement along the foot of the mountain and the view of Miro Miro Alley through all roads show Gamcheon’s unique character. The Village Art Project, which was launched by local artists and villagers to revive Gamcheon‘s characteristics and historical value, became a stepping stone for Gamcheon Culture Village Creation Project. Starting with this project, it attracted various public offering projects and has become a popular attraction with more than 3.08 million people visiting in 2019.

#citywalk
Gamcheon Culture Village is probably the most visited and photographed attraction in Busan. Established since 1955, the village started as a collective housing project for refugees. Over the years, it has transformed into a village dedicated to preservation and regeneration of the local community.
We started our journey from the bus stop outside the village. Maps and signposts are available at many parts of the village and do not worry about getting lost. The walk through the winding alleys in the village was full of surprises as we encountered colourful houses and beautifully painted wall murals along the journey. It was a fun and memorable experience for us taking pictures with colourful backdrop at different parts of the village. We also enjoyed checking out the souvenir shops and cool cafes in the village.

📍 Why Visit Gamcheon Culture Village?
If you're in Busan, the locals and the tour guides will tell you that Gamcheon Cultural Village is not to be missed!
Referred to as the "Machu Picchu of Busan", the village got its name from the hillside architecture and extremely colorful buildings. But that's not all it's famous for, it's an absolute intsaworthy spot and there's rich history surrounding it as well.
It's also full of cafes, restaurants, shops, and even art galleries. There are even cultural events and festivals throughout the year, so do check the calendar before heading over.
Also, if you're a Little Prince fan, make sure to drop by their Little Prince themed street! There's even a sculpture of the fox and the prince overlooking a breathtaking panoramic view of the village!

Headed straight to Busan after landed at Incheon. Had a quick bite of Tteokbokki, fish cake soup and sundae (not to my liking). Visited the must-see Gamcheon Culture Village again under the hot sun. We didn't spend too much time there due to the weather and headed to BIFF Square searching for bingsu.
Visited Yongdosan Park and the observatory deck at Lotte Mall. Dinner was the nice pork stew and pork soup at BIFF Square

Colorful Gamcheon Cultural Village Busan!
#wecreate
One of the must visit place in Busan, South Korea is Gamcheon Cultural Village❤️. Its a historic village which has been converted to a lively colorful place by the people living here. You will find all kinds of colorful walls, vibrant photo points, different cafés, desserts, souvenir shops, hanok rentals, proper cultural shops and museums.
One of the best dessert I have eaten there is this Marshmellow ice cream😋
The ice cream contains vanilla/strawberry with chocolate chips inside covered with marshmallow on the outside. The shop owner roasts the marshmellow top layer in front of you and then you get to enjoy a completely new texture and taste of an ice cream.
One of the photozone included a BTS wallpaper as well for all the BTS fans all over the world.
There's a museum also which depicts the history of this village and its marvelous to see the development of this village from what it was in its initial years.
I use Naver maps while traveling around in Korea and this is the Gamcheon Cultural Village address:
