The Forsgate Conservatory: Remarkable Plant Representation
#hongkongtrip
Another unique natural area that can attract attention is The Forsgate Conservatory. Being the largest greenhouse in Southeast Asia, it occupies 1,400 square meters and is divided into several climate-controlled pavilions. If you are interested in botany and zoology, we recommend visiting the dragonfly nursery, which is located near an artificial lake. The purest waters and lush vegetation form an ideal habitat for dragonflies, of which there are more than 100 species. You can admire a wide variety of flowers and plants. Moving from one zone to another, you seem to be transported thousands of kilometers, despite the fact that in reality you have taken only a few steps: in one second you get from the humid climate of the jungle to the arid climate of the desert. The plants represented here range from bright prickly cactuses to large ornamental orchids and are displayed in 3 different ecosystem halls. The "dry House" is a desert-like room with artificial rocks and mini-canyons where you will find cacti and succulents. The "Room of wet Plants" is a space of a tropical forest with ferns, palm trees, bromeliads and curious carnivorous plants, and the "Greenhouse" presents mainly floral and colorful expositions that change depending on the season.
When we were there recently, in June, giant water lilies were also blooming there. These beautiful white flowers are the largest of the water lily family. No matter how beautiful the flowers were, the giant leaves that looked like vases of water were no less beautiful.
Overall, this is a great entertainment for those who have free time to walk around the park. Descriptions are provided in both English and Chinese, and entry admission is for free. I highly recommend this place for visiting due to its unique expositions and easy access. The plant collection is absolutely and undoubtfully awesome.

The Forsgate Conservatory is consist of three sections The Display Plant House, The Dry Plant House and The Humid Humid Plant house. An adjustable environment control equipment has been installed in the Conservatory to simulate different climatic conditions for the display of plants from dry regions and tropical areas. It is a free activity to try inside Hongkong Park. I would say it's good for family or couple to explore if you are into plants. It's pretty amazing for us.
