Flume Gorge
This natural gorge at the base of Mount Liberty in New Hampshire is much-visited and one of many cool things to do in The Granite State.
Speaking of granite, the gorge walls are as tall as 90-feet in some places and are composed of Conway granite.
The flume trail is a two-mile stretch of hiking pathway that includes inclined sections as well as many stairways.
Along the boardwalk, hikers can check out flower, fern, and moss growth.
One of the keenest features of Flume Gorge is the Flume Covered Bridge.
Built in 1886, the bridge has been restored several times since then.
Other notable features of Flume Gorge include Table Rock, a 500-foot section of granite, Avalanche Falls, a 45-foot waterfall, Liberty Gorge, a cascading mountain stream, and Wolf Den, a passageway only accessible on your hands and knees.
This must see NH phenomenon will not disappoint if you add it to your vacation plans.

Boston Maple Leaf Viewing Guide
🏙️Boston, the capital of Massachusetts, is one of the oldest and most historic cities in the United States, known as the "Athens of America". Autumn is the best season to explore the Boston area. 🍁The autumn wind rises, and the maple leaves 🍁around Boston gradually turn golden and red, as if it is the most brilliant palette of nature🎨
Recommended maple leaf viewing spots
Boston Maple Leaf Viewing Guide🍁
1️⃣ Stowe, Vermont
About 3 hours drive from Boston, Stowe is known as the "Autumn Fairy Town". In autumn, the town is surrounded by layers of maple leaves, as if in a fairy tale world. It is recommended to take the Stowe Mountain Resort cable car to overlook the colorful maple leaves and white churches, and the photos are full of movie sense.
2️⃣ White Mountains National Forest
About 2.5 hours from Boston, White Mountain Park is the best place to view maple leaves in the eastern United States. Early October is the best viewing period. The Kancamagus Highway along the way is 35 miles long and has multiple check-in points. Flume Gorge is full of red leaves in the valley, and Artist's Bluff Lookout overlooks the autumn colors of the mountains. The maple leaf viewing train Mountaineer - Iconic Crawford Notch Scenic Train Ride starts at $76 for adults and $52 for children.
3️⃣ Gibbet Hill, Groton, Massachusetts
About 1 hour from Boston, a niche maple leaf viewing spot. One of the filming locations of "Little Women", it is recommended to stop at the Gibbet Hill Grill parking lot and walk ten minutes to the entrance. The morning mist and pink skyline, coupled with colorful red leaves, seem to have accidentally entered a British pastoral movie.
4️⃣ Gunstock Mountain Resort
About 1.5 hours from Boston, you can play Zipline, open-air cable car, high-speed zip line and jungle slide. The red maple leaves on both sides are so beautiful that they are speechless. The Zipline tour lasts about two hours, including safety training, and descends to the bottom of the mountain in three stages, overlooking the mountains and lakes, and the scenery is superb. Zipline 85$/person, unlimited mountain coaster 30$/person.
5️⃣ Wachusett Mountain
About 1 hour from Boston, suitable for short trips. The maple leaves are rich in color, and it is recommended to take a cable car to the top or walk. The observation deck on the top of the mountain overlooks the autumn colors of the mountains, and a random shot is a big movie. Parking fee is about 5-10$.
