Trip to Norway 🇳🇴
It was a vacation with family to Norway. Just to share some of the places and restaurants that I’ve visited and enjoyed the most. Norway was truly a beautiful country. We were in a group of 4 and we visited many places.
One of our most favorite place to visit was Mount Floyen. We took the Fløibanen funicular up all the way to the top and walk to central Bergen. It is definitely worth to go up to the top as you can see very amazing view 💯 If you were given a chance, do remember to pick the front seat so that you can capture best pictures without having people blocking in the front 🤣 They opened from 8am to 11pm everyday. Instead of buying the ticket online, we bought the ticket on spot via the kiosk machine. One way journey took about 15 minutes and it was around 85Krone, return costs about 160Krone. It is definitely worth to visit 🥰

Our second favorite spot to visit in Norway was Kode Museum. This museum really amazed us! It is one of the biggest museum in Nordic region. The museum was made up of 4 different buildings and there were a lot of things to see, from art and crafts to music etc. We spent half days walking around the museum and we have learned and understand many history behind all the objects and Norway. They opened on Tuesday to Sunday from 11am to 4pm. Our tickets were 480Krones (for 4pax). We really enjoy visiting Kode Museum 🥰

Just to share my favorite restaurant in Norway before I wrap up this post. I really enjoyed eating the Norwegian local cuisine. my favorite shop in Bergen was Pingvinen. The restaurant itself is small and menu were very limited. But all the items that we tried were very delicious. P/s: the portion is very big as well. Every dish came with their unique sauce. We visited the restaurant two times in a row 🤣The price was considered affordable. We ordered all the seafood items available from the menu and all were delicious, especially their fish 💯Please check it out if you’re around Bergen area. (Their service was very good too 🥰)

Bergen: Norway’s Gateway to the Fjords 🇳🇴
Bergen, located on the west coast of Norway, is a city renowned for its stunning natural surroundings, charming historic district, and vibrant cultural scene. Known as the "Gateway to the Fjords," Bergen offers a perfect blend of urban sophistication and breathtaking landscapes.
Begin your exploration in Bryggen, the city’s UNESCO World Heritage-listed old wharf. The colorful wooden buildings and narrow alleyways reflect Bergen’s history as a major trading port during the Hanseatic League era. Visit the Hanseatic Museum to learn about Bergen’s maritime heritage. The Bergen Art Museum, which comprises several buildings, showcases an impressive collection of Norwegian and international art, including works by Edvard Munch.
Bergen’s vibrant music scene is highlighted by the annual Bergen International Festival, which features performances by world-class musicians, dancers, and actors. The city is also home to the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the oldest orchestras in the world. Take the Fløibanen funicular to the top of Mount Fløyen for panoramic views of the city and the surrounding fjords. The nearby Mount Ulriken, accessible by cable car, offers hiking trails and stunning vistas. Bergen’s proximity to the fjords makes it an ideal base for exploring these natural wonders by boat.

Experiences and Recommendations
A ride on the Fløibanen funicular to the top of Mount Fløyen provides stunning panoramic views of the city and its surrounding fjords. For those who enjoy hiking, there are several trails from the summit that cater to different fitness levels. Another must-visit is the Bergenhus Fortress, one of Norway's oldest and best-preserved fortifications.
The city's cultural scene is vibrant, with numerous museums and galleries. The KODE art museums, for instance, house an impressive collection of art and design, including works by Edvard Munch. A fjord cruise from Bergen is an unforgettable experience, taking you through some of Norway's most dramatic and beautiful landscapes.
Tips and Tricks
The best time to visit Bergen is during the summer months from June to August when the weather is mild and the days are long. However, Bergen is known for its rain, so pack waterproof clothing regardless of the season. The Bergen Card is a great investment for tourists, offering free or discounted admission to many attractions, as well as free travel on public transport.
Accommodation in Bergen can be pricey, especially during the peak tourist season, so booking in advance is advisable. The city is compact and walkable, but consider using public transport or renting a bike for easier access to some of the more elevated viewpoints.

Scenic Fløibanen Tram
#2024wish
It is always fun to take tram up to the top of the mountain as you get to enjoy the scenic view as you ascend to the top of the mountain. That's why I got to enjoy this year when I visited Bergen. I took the Floibanen to go up to the top of Mount Fløyen where I have a spectacular of the city below from up there.
In 2024, I hope to have a chance again to take tram up to the top of a mountain but in winter. I love to see snow mountains.

Skomakerdiket At Floibanen
#2024wish
I took the tram up to the top of Mount Floibanen when I was holidaying in Bergen Norway. It was a spectacular view looking down at the city and the nearby sea from up there. I took the chance to walk around at the top and found out there was lake called Skomakerdiket. It was a beautiful lake with the trees surrounding it.
In 2024, I hope to have the chance to tour another city in Scandinavia with my wife.

Norway Travel Notes-Bergen Floibanen Cable Car
Travel to Bergen, the second largest city in Norway, and climb the famous Mount Floyen, which is 320 meters above sea level. You can take the cable car and enjoy the scenery along the way in the sealed glass car. The higher the cable car climbs, the broader the view. There are 3 stations along the way, and the ride up the mountain only takes 8 minutes. Regardless of locals or tourists, they stood on the observation deck for a long time and refused to leave, enjoying the miniature Bergen. Cruise ships entering and exiting the port and the colorful matchbox wooden houses are all small and cute at the moment.
You can also have a drink at a coffee shop or restaurant while enjoying the scenery. There are snack kiosks selling water, snowflakes and candies. Souvenirs can be purchased at the gift shop.
