#weekendgetaways I always get "mocked" for traveling although it is usually locally. But hey, Malaysia is so beautiful. It is a heaven for weekend getaways. I spent a weekend in Cherating and god, I love the smell of sands, the sounds of waves and definitely the wind that brushes my hair. Our first time camping on beach side at Campers Unite Cherating Pahang. The view is awesome and the Camp owner are very helpful and friendly. Their facilities also excellent with clean toilets and good water pressure. Their campsite is 100% beach view 👍👍 We enjoyed the sunrise in the morning and wave sound at night. Absolutely we will came again next year when the turtle seasons because this campsite is very close to Cherating turtle sanctuary. #campinglife #summervacation

🏨 we stayed at Royale Chulan Cherating Chalet which has direct access to the beach, love it! 🐢 went to experience release baby turtle & watch mummy turtle lay eggs. It was a great experience for us, especially the kids! The turtle ranger was very knowledgable about turtles and we learn a lot about turtles too ❤️ 🍗 obsessed with the Grilled Chicken Cheese at the beach cafe next door. We had it two days in a row! 👚 bumped into the Chero Hello Market by the beach and had fun doing tiedye for the first time ☺️ 🌊 Cherating Beach is so beautiful ☀️ love doing nothing but just splashing, playing or chilling by the beach ☕️ walked pass a nameless coffee stop, decided to give it a try and loved it! 🍽️ grabbed a quick dinner after released the baby turtle nearby and surprisingly good! Msia East Coast Road Trip 2 (Cherating)

We continued the 2nd part of road trip to Cherating. Stayed at Holiday Villea Beach Resort Cherating. If you do have some budget, I would recommend the villa unit. It comes with a small pool for each villa. And it was a hit with the kids. We had lots of fun dipping in the pool and had the pool for ourselves. The highlight of stopping at Cherating was actually turtle releasing. We went in June and it happened to be the nesting season for turtles. It was very enriching to hear from the facilitator how they protect the small turtles and the role of the turtle conservation centre over there. #freehotelstay

SCRUMPTIOUS MALAY CUISINE IN CHERATING!

WHILE HOLIDAYING IN THE BEAUTIFUL CHERATING IN THE STATE OF PAHANG, WE VISITED A SMALL 'KAMPUNG' (VILLAGE) CAFE NEAR THE CHERATING BEACH. THE CUTE LITTLE CAFE IS RUN BY AN ELDERLY FRIENDLY COUPLE. SITTING IN THE THE RUSTIC OPEN AIR CAFE MADE US FEEL LIKE HOME. WE HAD A WONDERFUL AND SCRUMPTIOUS MALAY CUISINE AT THE CAFE. MALAY CUISINE IS THE TRADITIONAL FOOD OF THE ETHNIC MALAYS OF THE SOUTHEAST ASIA. WE HAD STEAMED WHITE RICE ACCOMPANIED WITH THE BEST GRILLED DISH EVER. THE FISH WAS WELL SEASONED WITH SPICES AND .HERBS, WRAPPED WITH THE BANANA LEAF AND GRILLED OVER CHARCOAL. THE GRILLED FISH CAME WITH A DIPPING SAUCE WHICH WAS SLIGHTLY SPICY FROM THE CHILI WITH SOURISH TASTE FROM THE TAMARIND PASTE AND LIME. DICED SHALLOTS WERE ALSO ADDED IN THE DIPPING SAUCE.
