Very peaceful area facing the road. This statue is majestic. The wordings here are mainly in Lao. You can appreciate the many smaller animal statues surrounding the King's statue.
The park itself is quiet and provides some shade against the harsh sunlight. People have picnics here on weekend afternoons.

Chao Anouvong Park along the Mekong River in Vientiane..

This park honors King Anu Vong (reigned 1804-1827) of the Vientiane Kingdom who fought against Thailand. It would be more meaningful if you know the history of Laos. It is said that King Anu was defeated in the war with Thailand and was taken to Bangkok and died in prison. Considering the history of our country being annexed by Japan, it doesn't feel like someone else's story. The park is well-decorated and there is a night market next to it, so it's a good place to take a walk in the park and look around the night market.

Chao Anouvong Park... Vientiane...

I stopped by here briefly after getting a visa to Laos. It's better to come with kids than adults. It's next to the Mekong, and there are tourists nearby, but there are also food and night markets.
There's also a Korean restaurant, but I can't remember the name. Oh, and there's something called Jenny Massage, and the manager who speaks Korean well greets you very kindly. The prices are more expensive than Thailand...
The Laos taxi driver says Here Korea... It's very similar to Korea. The cars are the most Starex, and the roads are the same as Korea.~^^
