Guangzhou's Beijing Road Pedestrian Street: Full of life with a bit of the past tucked in.
Wandering Guangzhou’s Beijing Road Pedestrian Street was an experience I won’t soon forget. The street is a lively mix of modern shops, bustling food stalls, and vibrant energy that makes it feel alive at every turn. What makes it truly unique, though, is the hidden history beneath my feet. Glass panels in the street reveal ancient road sections from the Tang and Song dynasties, showing just how long this spot has been a hub of activity. It’s incredible to walk through centuries of history while enjoying the present-day hustle. The perfect blend of old and new! #guangzhou #pedestrianstreet #beijingroad

What a fascinating time to spend on one of the busiest streets in guangzhou. There were lots of shops and traffic just like shinjuku. It can't be done by a day since the street was huge and full of people.
From the hippest to the cheapest clothes, from traditional food to modern fusion, from souvenirs to tasty snacks, this street has it all.
This is a must visit place in Guangzhou as it offers so many things to see, shop and eat all day long. Highly recommended!

Every time I go to Beijing Road, I want to eat this crab roe!
Now that the autumn wind is blowing, it’s a good time to eat crabs!
The golden color makes it very appetizing!

The moment I poured the crab roe down, my mouth watered. The crab roe and the fat of the crab roe are so rich. Stir them evenly before eating. The noodles are covered with crab roe, which greatly increases your appetite. It’s delicious😍For those who don’t like noodles You can also choose crab roe rice 😌
·
✅Huadiao Drunken Crab
Each one is filled with crab paste, so plump, with a faint fragrance of Huadiao in the mouth, and the meat is so tender that you can’t even eat a whole one, it’s so fragrant!

How to spend a day in Guangzhou just eating! Here's a complete guide!
If you want to spend a day eating in Guangzhou, you can walk 30,000 steps just for food! 😋
First stop: Xihua Road: P1-P3
🏨 Fei Fan Changfen Huang, Corinthian Sandwich, Bao Yuanwei
✨ Fei Fan Changfen Huang: Chen Yihan's favorite. The beef Changfen has a lot of beef and the Changfen skin is very thin.
✨ Corinthian: The signature dish is only 6 yuan. It comes with eggs, ham, and cucumber, and a cup of milk tea. The bread is very soft and fragrant, and the milk tea is not sweet and delicious.
Second stop: Beijing Road Pedestrian Street: P4-P13
🏨 Bao Shifu, Wu Li Tang, Seoi6 Lu Sui, Dian Dian Xin Si, Hong Da Xi Bing, Min Ji Bo Zi Fan, Sweet Heart Mama, Paper Stone Bread
✨ Beijing Road is a gathering place for many delicious foods. If you walk from Xihua Road to Wu Li Tang on Beijing Road Pedestrian Street at 7:30 am like me, you can just catch the first batch of egg tarts, so they are especially crispy and very fragrant.
✨ The service staff at Lu Sui and Sweet Heart Mama are all very nice.
✨ Lu Sui's matcha mochi is especially delicious! The mochi is chewy and the matcha flavor is just right! The croissant is crispy. Who invented such delicious food?
✨ Sweet Heart Mama's green tea ramen has a light matcha flavor. The mango and watermelon are fresh and sweet. The coconut milk sago is delicious and never goes wrong!
✨ The aunties at Dian Dian Xin Si are also very nice. The red rice sausage is oily and oily. Each one has a lot of shrimp. It is also crispy and fragrant. I also like the chicken feet and shrimp dumplings!
✨ Min Ji Bo Zi Fan must go a little earlier. People will start queuing around 11:00 am, but it is still relatively fast. You must eat the beef Bo Zi Fan! The pot is the soul, and there is a lot of meat!
✨ I completely fell in love with Paper Stone's matcha croissant after eating it once! The surface is a bitter matcha milk crust, and the inside is a matcha cream with a hint of sweetness. It is crispy and delicious, but it is really expensive.
Third stop: Liuyun Community: P14
🏨 Xiazhi Rizi Zuo, Chouchou, Treasure Oasis, Star Dust, Mantonton
🚥 You can choose to take the subway, because I chose to ride a bicycle to avoid feeling so guilty. It took 50 minutes to ride 8 km.
✨ Liuyun Community is simply a gathering place for handmade bread, a happy home for bread lovers. There are many beautifully decorated shops, and I met many beautiful bloggers who checked in.
✨ Matcha No. 3 is so bitter, blueberries are sweet and sour, and it's a pity that I didn't eat lemon basil. And 35 yuan for two scoops and 38 yuan for three scoops. I actually chose two scoops instead of three scoops. I lost 3 yuan for each scoop! You can try every flavor in the store, and the staff are all very friendly.

What to Eat at Beijing Road Market in Guangzhou
Beijing Road Market in Guangzhou is a great place to find delicious street food. If you're visiting, there are a few special foods that you must try.
One of the most famous street foods in China is stinky tofu. Even though it has a strong smell, many people love its unique taste. The tofu is usually deep-fried, making it crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It’s often served with chili sauce or soy sauce.
Tanghulu: Tanghulu is a traditional Chinese snack made from candied fruits on a stick. At Beijing Road Market, you can find a special version called "Ice Tanghulu." The fruits are coated with a sweet syrup that hardens into a crunchy shell, making them a perfect sweet treat.
Grilled Skewers (Chuan Chuan and Kao Chuan): These are grilled meat or vegetable skewers. You can choose from a variety of ingredients like chicken, beef, lamb, or vegetables. The skewers are seasoned with spices and then grilled over an open flame, giving them a smoky and savory flavor.
Durian Pancakes: Durian is a tropical fruit with a strong smell but a sweet, creamy taste. If you like durian, you should try the durian pancakes. They are made with thin layers of pancake filled with fresh durian and cream, creating a rich and delicious dessert.
Lemon Juice: To refresh yourself after all the savory and sweet snacks, have a glass of lemon juice. It’s a simple and refreshing drink that’s perfect for a hot day at the market. Look for the one with Lime Duckling Logo, it was so good!

Beijing Road Pedestrian Street in Guangzhou, the starting point of exploring the city
Beijing Road Pedestrian Street is located in Yuexiu District, Guangzhou, and is the site of the city's initial construction. Although it has undergone more than 2000 years of changes, its central position in the city has remained unchanged. This phenomenon is extremely rare nationwide.
At the beginning of this century, Beijing Road Pedestrian Street was upgraded and renovated. This ancient and bustling commercial street has been rejuvenated with a youthful and fashionable look. During the renovation, a large number of sandstone strips and ancient city wall bricks were unearthed. The excavation revealed five dynasties and eleven layers of road surfaces since the Southern Han Dynasty and the foundation site of the Song Dynasty Gongbei Tower.
Today, the thousand-year-old ancient road site, silently lying under the tempered glass cover, has become the "treasure of the street." This reminds me of the ancient road site on the Southern Song Imperial Street in Hangzhou, which has a similar charm.
Beijing Road Pedestrian Street is neither short nor narrow, but it is always bustling with people and maintains its vigorous vitality.
There are four copper pots arranged in a stepped manner on the street, with water dripping down sequentially between each pot (see Figure 1). This is the Yuan Dynasty timekeeping tool, the copper pot drip. The original is now treasured in the National Museum of China. In 2009, a replica of the copper pot drip landscape was made at the original site on Beijing Road. In 2017, the double-door shape of the Gongbei Tower and timekeeping elements such as the copper pot drip and the twelve zodiac signs were extracted and redesigned.
There is also a large ancient Buddha temple on the street, with very prosperous incense. Unlike general temples, the worshippers here are mainly young people. In the Mahavira Hall, there are three bronze Buddha statues weighing 10 tons each, known as the crown of Lingnan.

Night life with a dash of history!
Beijing Road Pedestrian Street is a great place to visit for a little night time fun. It is about 10-15 minutes walk from the Gongyuanqian metro station and right across the entrance is the XinDaXin (新大新) mall with the Vienna Hotel above it. The street has a lot of things to see and try, malls, souvenirs, street food, you name it, it’s there… I think 😅 It is definitely worth the visit. #guangzhou #tripblazers #tripmoments #historicallandmarks #nightlife #bucketlistreboot #freehotelstay

Well worth a visit. Every shop that you can imagine on the streets and a number of shopping malls. Some traditional buildings. Great place to eat from street food but nowadays it is not as crowded as it used to be. Half if the shop i knew before lockdown were not there anymore. My favourite restaurant also already close and has been replaced with something else.
Nevertheless if you are in Guangzhou will highly a visit to here as it still a great place to be

The intersection of history and modernity
I came to one of the famous attractions in Guangzhou, Beijing Road, ready to experience this shopping and cultural district that combines history and modernity. Below is a wonderful trip I took on Beijing Road.
When I stepped onto Beijing Road Pedestrian Street, I was immediately attracted by the bustling and lively atmosphere. This is one of the most representative shopping areas in Guangzhou, with a variety of shops, department stores and food stalls. I walked along the crowded pedestrian street, admiring the unique style of the buildings and shops on both sides.
On Beijing Road, I found many well-known shopping malls and brand stores. Whether it’s fashion apparel, accessories, cosmetics or homewares, you’ll find a wide variety of options. I spent a lot of time looking for items I liked in the store, enjoying the fun of shopping and the surprises of discovery.
I felt the unique charm of Beijing Road. It is not only a modern shopping district, but also integrates Guangzhou's long history and cultural elements. There is a constant flow of people here and a dazzling array of shops, allowing me to immerse myself in the fun of shopping and exploring.

Guangzhou Beijing Road Pedestrian Street
Beijing Road Pedestrian Street can be reached by taking the subway to Beijing Road Station. There was also a Guangzhou temple fair when I went there, so it had an extra New Year feel. There is no doubt about the low level of history. This time there are additional projection lights, the cooked food stalls are arranged in clusters, and the pedestrian paths on both sides are also crowded. There are still many arcades on both sides, which is very good. #广州游

When the walls speak in colors! 🧱📣🎨
Although I've been to all the major cities in China, this is the first time I've ever seen such a street filled with murals. I wondered if this particular technique of street art exists here in China.
I was positively surprised when I visited one of the most famous attractions in Guangzhou called Beijing road pedestrian street. This popular tourist street is located in the Yuexiu district and it is very convenient to get there by metro.
On this street, you can find a great Buddhist temple, many restaurants with delicious cuisine, and other commercial content. But the thing that grabs most of my attention is the gorgeous artwork on the walls.
You will see how these walls communicate in creative ways and have a soul. This artist found inspiration in cats, women, kids, and flowers.
Represent this masterpiece in such a magnificent manner. These murals add amazing detail to this famous street.
Give this location a unique soul and ambiance.
It's kind of a hidden gem at the end of this street. I simply followed my wanderlust and discovered this incredible artistic gem.

Beijing Road Pedestrian Street is located in Yuexiu District, Guangzhou, a prosperous area of Guangzhou since ancient times, with a history dating back to the Song Dynasty. There is everything to eat, drink and have fun here. On holidays, you can come for a morning tea first, then slowly shop one by one, and have a happy day. In addition, I can recommend you to see the ruins of the ancient road laid in the Ming Dynasty here, and feel the feeling of the ancient dignitaries and nobles walking in the streets.

Beijing Road Pedestrian Street in Guangzhou. The place looks like the center or Plaza where modern shops and boutiques are gathered in one big cloth. But this is very old place and very old street. Many many years ago merchants arrived here and start their trade. But for now this is the place for shopping and young people dating. It was pretty interesting for me to take a walk there and to enjoy my observing environment of modern Guangzhou.
