🇮🇩 Why you MUST visit Nusa Penida if you come Bali
#islandtours
Nusa Penida, a rugged island located off the southeast coast of Bali, offers travelers a blend of breathtaking landscapes, dramatic cliffs, and crystal-clear waters. Less developed and more serene than its famous neighbor, Bali, Nusa Penida is a haven for adventurers and nature lovers alike.
Spectacular Natural Beauty
The island's most iconic sights include Kelingking Beach, with its T-Rex shaped cliff face and stunning turquoise waters below, and the mystical Broken Beach (Pasih Uug), known for its natural archway and tidal pool. The Angel's Billabong, an inviting natural infinity pool, and the panoramic views from Atuh Beach are other must-visit destinations that showcase the island's dramatic coastline.
Adventure and Exploration
Nusa Penida is also a hotspot for snorkeling and diving, with sites like Manta Point where divers can swim with the gentle manta rays. The island’s rugged terrain provides excellent opportunities for trekking and exploring its diverse landscapes, from lush forests to arid regions.
Visitor Tips & Itinerary Suggestion
- Day 1: West Coast Wonders
- Morning: Start early with a visit to Kelingking Beach to avoid crowds and experience the breathtaking view. Descend to the beach if you’re up for a challenging hike.
- Afternoon: Head to Angel’s Billabong and Broken Beach to explore these natural wonders and enjoy a scenic lunch.
- Evening: Relax at Crystal Bay with a sunset view, perfect for winding down after a day of adventure.
- Day 2: Eastern Exploration
- Morning: Drive to Atuh Beach for sunrise and enjoy a quiet morning at one of the island’s most beautiful spots.
- Afternoon: Visit Diamond Beach and climb down the newly carved stairs to the white sand beach below, surrounded by stunning rock formations.
- Evening: Return to your accommodation and perhaps explore local dining options in the nearby villages.
Preparation and Practical Advice
- Transport: Renting a scooter is the most flexible way to explore the island, but be cautious as roads can be rough. For those less confident on two wheels, hiring a local driver is advisable.
- Accommodation: Stay overnight to fully experience what Nusa Penida has to offer. Accommodations range from basic homestays to more comfortable resorts.
- Travel Essentials: Bring sturdy shoes for hiking, plenty of water, sunscreen, and a hat as the island terrain can be demanding and hot during the day.
- Conservation: Respect the natural environment. Take all trash back with you and avoid disturbing wildlife.
Conclusion
Nusa Penida is a spectacular destination that promises adventure and awe-inspiring natural beauty. Its less commercialized vibe allows for a more authentic experience of what many consider the real spirit of island exploration in Indonesia.

💞Reasons to Recommend:
Beautiful beaches and views from the top.
Local food outlets and umbrellas and beds (to pay) at the bottom.
💡 Think about:
There is an entry fee to both Atuh beach and Diamond beach.
There is around 100 very steep unstable steps to get down to the beach, despite some rope on the side, it is not recommended for people with mobility challenges.

Sunrise Poin in Sanur Beach
Sunrise and sunset on Nusa Penida are what many landscape photographers hunt for. Among them are Sunset Kelingking Beach, Sunset Broken Beach, Sunrise Atuh Beach, Sunrise Raja Lima (Thousand Islands) and the Mollenteng Tree House (Sunrise). In recent years, Nusa Penida tourism has become a favorite traveling destination in Bali. Not surprisingly, many tourists are willing to stand in line if they want to take pictures or selfies. However, it will be different for the landscape photography hobby, because the best time to shoot is between 6 pm and 6 am. So the sunset and sunrise spots have started to be a bit loose.
You don't need to worry, the public facilities in Bali and Nusa Penida are complete. From the village to the city center, it offers all kinds of lodging hotels and other facilities that you can use and stay in while on vacation.

The most beautiful point of Bali Island is here. Atuh Beach has a many spot that have a great view. The beach has a white sand and very celan. The cliff have so many spot so take some of picture. Entrance ticket is so cheap and very worthy.
There were some food stalls, however it came with heavy price tag. Negotiate and lock the price before ordering. You may get a discount.

Hidden gem in Bali
The island of Nusa Penida is famed for its numerous stunning beaches that surround it. Atuh Beach, which is located on the island's eastern extremity, is one of those beaches. It's the ideal place to spend a morning or afternoon relaxing in the sand and in the ocean. Because of its position, it receives less day trippers from Bali. To get the most out of Atuh, you should spend a couple of days on Nusa Penida itself, exploring the beach and all of the other attractions the island has to offer. You may get to Atuh Beach in a variety of methods, including hiring a driver, renting a scooter, or taking a tour.

Amazing beach in Nusa Penida, love this place! Indonesia is one of my favourite destinations, oh no.. acually is the best ! haha #bali #nusapenida #indonesia #asia

It's very special place. Water is perfectly clean, but waves are so dangerous. There are lots of stones underwater as well, so it's probably not the best swimming area. But it's really beautiful. In the mornings and evenings there are no tourists at all. We lived in authentic bungalow near Atuh Beach in a jungle. Then each morning we had breakfast on this beach with no one around. Amazing. At the daytime there are few sellers from which you can buy delicious Balinese foods, fruits and drinks. Everyday you can witness tides and low tides. When it's time of low tides Beach doesn't look as wonderful as it's on attached pics. But anyway visit this unique place, it's amazing

You can see this place and diamond beach in same area.
To get to atuh beach to just view from the top, there’s two places you can go in. If coming from Harbour, the first entrance is the easiest to get to.
If you go to second entry to either visit the beach itself or view diamond beach too, you need to be aware of the road in.

Penida Island, also known as Nusa Penida, is a stunning island located southeast of Bali, Indonesia. Part of the Nusa Islands trio, which includes Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan, Nusa Penida is the largest and most rugged of the three. It’s celebrated for its dramatic coastal cliffs, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant marine life, making it a top destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers.
One of the island’s most iconic spots is Kelingking Beach, where steep cliffs form the shape of a T-Rex, leading down to a secluded white-sand beach. The island is also home to Angel’s Billabong, a natural infinity pool, and Broken Beach, a stunning cove with a natural rock arch. For divers and snorkelers, Nusa Penida offers some of the best underwater experiences in Bali, including the chance to see manta rays at Manta Point and explore vibrant coral reefs at Crystal Bay.
The island is relatively undeveloped compared to Bali’s main tourist areas, providing a more tranquil and untouched atmosphere. Visitors can rent scooters to explore the island’s remote areas, visiting hidden beaches, traditional villages, and the iconic Atuh Beach, known for its picturesque rock formations.
Nusa Penida is also culturally rich, with several sacred temples like Pura Goa Giri Putri, a cave temple that requires a crawl through a narrow opening. With its blend of natural beauty, adventure, and cultural significance, Penida Island offers a unique escape from the more crowded parts of Bali, ideal for those seeking both relaxation and exploration.

Penida|One-day photo tour includes filming.
Nusa Penida is about a 40-minute boat ride from Bali. Its biggest feature is the cliff seascape and unique coastline landscape. The real scenery is far more shocking than the photos.
❓Is Penida worth going?
🤓Of course it’s worth it! Although many people say that the weather in Nusa Penida is hot, the road conditions are poor, and the travel is tiring. If you come to Bali with the purpose of vacation, it is really better to find a seaside resort and lie down.
But if you like hiking🧗 and outdoor sports, and enjoy beautiful scenery, you must come to Nusa Penida. The scenery is much more beautiful than the scenic spots in Bali, and it is also very special.

What to prepare in advance
1. Sunscreen, sun-protective clothing, and hat (must be worn when going to the beach, just applying sunscreen is not enough, otherwise you will get sunburned and peeled like me)
2. A large bottle of mineral water (you can’t buy it at the mart on the first day on the island, and it’s more expensive at the scenic spots, so you can bring your own bottle first)
3. Cash, power bank
4. Drones and cameras📷 (magic tools for film production)
5. Convenient clothing, sneakers and swimsuit (don’t underestimate the difficulty of going down the mountain, be sure to wear light shoes and breathable shorts and skirts to facilitate climbing, safety is better than beauty, swimsuits can be worn underneath)
6. Dry and wet wipes

Beaches and Diving
#indonesiatrip
Nusa penida is a small island next to bali. Along with Lembongan it offers a great addition to the bali trip. The beaches of Nusa Penida are very beautiful and among the best in and around Bali, especially those next to the cliffs.
It's not surprising that thousands of visitors head to Kelingking Beach, Crystal Bay, or Atuh Beach each year. Yes, the views are magnificent and dizzying. Nusa Penida's diving spots are renowned, and for good reason. It is possible to dive with manta rays, and since the island's reefs are present on almost every beach, there is no shortage of diving locations. Even for simple snorkeling without an oxygen tank, just putting your head underwater in Nusa Penida feels like being in a real aquarium.#indonesiatrip #nusapenida #beachlife #bali

Majestic Atuh Beach
#fallishere
⭐ Highlights - Atuh Beach is located at the southeast coast of Nusa Penida. It's flanked by magnificent green cliffs, with surrounding limestone rock formations adding to its seclusion. There are 4 rocky outcrops nearby called Batu Melawang, Batu Abah, Batu Paon, and Bukit Jineng.
You can walk down the steep st
aircase to reach the beach, but it is not for the faint of heart. Views at the beach are amazing though!
