Nanning Tingzi Wharf Travel Guide
Super detailed ✅ Save for later! Tingzi Wharf is a scenic spot in Jiangnan District, Nanning, located 200 meters downstream from the Lingtie Bridge on the south bank.
It has a rare architectural style in Nanning (a Gothic European-style castle), and is known as the "Disneyland of Nanning". 💫 It is especially beautiful at night, and is a great place for a stroll, to enjoy the breeze, and to take photos.
There is also a snack street nearby, where you can enjoy local delicacies while sightseeing. It is the highlight of the Nanning Municipal Government's project to transform the beautiful Yongjiang River.

✅ You can take a walk, have a picnic, ride a bike, and watch the sunrise and sunset by the river. It's very relaxing and comfortable.

🎡 Recommended Attractions
1️⃣ Qingxiu Mountain
Ticket: 20 yuan, 5A-level scenic spot. The Shade Plant Garden (near the North Gate), Guanyin Zen Temple, and the Ancient and Modern Crossing are all located here. If you have enough time, Qingxiu Mountain is worth spending a whole day on.
2️⃣ Guangxi National Museum
Free, reservation required. Located by the Yongjiang River, it is a specialized museum showcasing ethnic culture, featuring the traditional cultural characteristics of the 12 indigenous ethnic groups in Guangxi. It's worth a visit.
3️⃣ ASEAN Business District
The famous Nanning staircase is here, and there are many restaurants nearby. It's perfect to have a meal here after shopping.
4️⃣ Yuanyang Building
"Z"-shaped staircase, symmetrical old residential building, full of a sense of age and stories. However, it looks very dilapidated in reality. If you are not interested in taking photos, you can skip it.
5️⃣ Tangren Cultural Street
Close to Yuanyang Building, this street is full of antiques, old toys, and cultural items. It's a treasure hunting paradise, perfect for those who love to shop for unique items.
6️⃣ Deng Yingchao Museum
Free, reservation required. I learned from a play that she was the wife of Premier Zhou Enlai. Here, Deng Yingchao's story is vividly presented before my eyes. There is a special exhibition hall displaying letters between her and Zhou Enlai, which are incredibly sweet. The love between the Premier and his wife brought tears to my eyes.
7️⃣ Three Streets and Two Alleys
This area has many Guangxi specialty snacks, similar to the must-visit streets in every city, perfect for a city walk.
7️⃣ Pavilion Wharf
European-style castle, as if you were in Prague Square. Come here to catch a sunset and see the rose waterfall.
8️⃣ Yongjiang Night Cruise
The lights of Changyou Pavilion reflect on the shimmering river. There are people singing by the river, and everyone sits on the steps, swaying to the rhythm, quietly listening or softly singing along. It's a very atmospheric night.

It is recommended to stay near Mixc Mall, which is convenient for transportation and dining.

Guangxi's Most Beautiful Skyline
Since we took the high-speed train from Chongzuo back to Nanning early in the morning, it was already 4 PM when we arrived in Nanning, leaving us with limited time to stay in Qingxiu Mountain Park. We decided to take the sightseeing bus and only photograph the upper part of the park.
Our route started with getting off at Tianchi, where we took some photos of the lake and the surrounding scenery. Tianchi is a large artificial lake halfway up Qingxiu Mountain. The water glistens, reflecting the blue sky and white clouds, earning it the nickname 'Tower Reflection Tianchi.'
Next, we walked to the symbol of Qingxiu Mountain - Longxiang Tower. The tower stands 52.35 meters high and 12 meters wide, with an internal spiral staircase of 207 steps leading to the top. It is the tallest tower in Guangxi. From the top, you can overlook the scenery of Yongjiang River and the new city of Langdong in Nanning. If you get hungry, you can visit nearby snack shops for a grilled sausage or corn, all freshly made and delicious.
After visiting Longxiang Tower, we walked to Huanshan Xiuping, a large grassland where we could lie down and rest. This grassland covers nearly 100 acres, and lying on this green carpet-like field, you can feel a sense of relaxation and comfort, making it an excellent place to rest.
Finally, we arrived at Guanyin Zen Temple. We didn't visit the temple itself but stayed here to photograph the sunset, evening glow, and night view. From 6 PM, we had our equipment set up, capturing the fiery sunset first, followed by the evening glow connecting the sky and earth, and finally, the starry night view, making for a spectacular conclusion. This skyline is undoubtedly one of the most impressive I've ever seen.

Must-visit spots for a two-day trip in Nanning:
1. Three Streets and Two Lanes, a historical and cultural district, is a must-visit for its lively atmosphere. You can also walk to a nearby high-rise and take an aerial shot from the rooftop, capturing the ancient buildings and the bridge in one view.
2. Qingxiu Mountain, with its charming botanical garden and the ancient and modern viewing platform, is a must-visit for cityscapes.
3. Jump into Nanhu Lake, where there are 3 branches of a bar, it is recommended to go to the largest and most popular Convention and Exhibition Store, a must-visit for nightlife.
4. Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Museum, which regularly hosts important and distinctive exhibitions, please pay attention in advance to grab tickets. This time I missed the national treasure exhibition and couldn't get close to the national treasure, the Ox Head, a must-visit for cultural tours.
5. Laoyou Rice Noodles, if you don't slurp noodles, don't bother coming, a must-visit for foodies.

403 meters, the tallest Shangri-La in the world
The tallest in the world refers to the highest number of floors (the highest altitude Shangri-La is in Lhasa).
The hotel has 88 floors with a building height of 403 meters, which also exceeds The Shard's 310 meters and the China World Trade Center Tower's 330 meters.
It has been a long time since I have seen a newly opened Shangri-La return to such a grand and magnificent design, from the first floor to the 68th floor's sky lobby, it's really majestic.
On the 71st floor, there is a 317-meter high outdoor swimming pool, which is said to be the highest outdoor swimming pool in China. Although there isn't much of a view in Nanning, on a clear day, the clouds seem within reach.
The ground floor has direct access to the MixC Mall and the subway station, making transportation very convenient.
The room I booked is one level above the basic room, the selected type, which is slightly larger than the basic room and includes an extra bathtub. The room's decoration is very tasteful, and the mattress is so comfortable.

A Day of a Special Forces Soldier in Nanning
Attended a colleague's wedding, with tight schedule and heavy tasks, managed to visit several popular attractions in one day
1. Breakfast: Shu Ji Laoyou Rice Noodles (Guiya Branch), the closest Shu Ji to the north gate of Qingxiu Mountain. After eating, walked to the north gate. Originally planned to play for two hours, but there were too many fun attractions in the scenic area, ended up playing for four hours;
2. After exiting the north gate, took a taxi to the ASEAN Sheng Tian Di famous staircase, near Starbucks there is an elevator going down, ordered online from Grandma's Handmade (Wanxiang City Branch), walked to Ganjiajie Lemon Duck (Chunhui Branch), quite delicious and cost-effective, went to pick up tea after eating;
3. Took a taxi to Huaxing Li, Old Shui Street, Huaxing Li is just a small alley, saw a beautiful lady taking wedding photos, Yong Flavor Laoyou, Liang Grandma's Twenty-Year Old Brand Braised Pork with Glutinous Rice, and the old brand herbal tea shop on Shui Street are all nearby, can be eaten together, I saved it for the next morning;

Guangxi is really a great place hehe. I checked into this homestay and it feels pretty good. It's a great place to slack off, with beautiful scenery and the facilities are also among the best I've experienced in so many homestays. Since it's quite remote, there's a restaurant inside the homestay, and the food is quite tasty, just a bit pricey.
Nearby, you can drive for half an hour to Wu Ming town for some delicious barbecue that's also cheap!! I went to the homestay during the May Day holiday, and there were lots of activities during the holiday period like catching crayfish, experiencing indigo dyeing, etc. The breakfast was rich and delicious. When checking out, they even gave me a bag of rice. The experience was 100 points, super cost-effective, highly recommended recommended

As a pavilion dock with a history of 900 years, it is located on the south bank of the Yongjiang River, 200 meters downstream of the Lingtie Bridge, backed by the Pavilion Riverside Park. It used to be the busiest commercial dock in Nanning and was the hub and transit center from the 'Maritime Silk Road' to the 'Water Silk Road'. The construction of the dock can be traced back to the Northern Song Dynasty, and the Pavilion Street connected to it is currently the oldest street recorded in Nanning. Before the construction of the cross-river bridge in Nanning, the main way of travel and cargo transportation for people living on both sides of the Yongjiang River was by boat.

Nanning, the capital city of Guangxi province, and is located in Southwest China. The province borders Vietnam, this city is close to Guangzhou, close to Hong Kong and Macau, and faces Southeast Asia. It is also near to Guilin city and Guizhou province.
Although it's not the most famous of cities, it is definitely worth spending a few days. You can travel to the tall building called Di Wang Yun Ding and get the lift to the 59th floor glass walk way. This offers stunning views of the entire city.

Go to the top floor. Tickets are 58RMB per person. Children are free of charge.
You are offered with excellent panoramic views of the city. There is also a glass walk part where you scan see the streets directly below you. If you're not afraid of heights, I suggest you bring your camera and have fun!
