A must-visit spot when traveling freely to Naha, Okinawa, is the 'Churaumi Aquarium'! The aquarium features a 7,500 cubic meter 'Kuroshio Sea' tank, home to the iconic whale sharks. Additionally, there are dolphin shows that are popular with both adults and children.
The name 'Churaumi' in 'Churaumi Aquarium' means 'beautiful sea' in the Okinawan dialect. This aquarium is the southernmost in Japan, the largest in Asia, and one of the top three largest in the world! It boasts a rich variety of marine life, including many rare species. The spacious grounds are perfect for children to run around, making it a top choice for family trips in Okinawa. Before visiting, you can check the aquarium's official website for daily opening and closing times and current crowd levels.
The souvenir shop is also a great place to shop, offering a wide range of marine-themed items such as plush toys, 3D stickers, and socks that make perfect gifts.

Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium
The best choice for a family trip is definitely the aquarium. Kids will be thrilled to see whales, clownfish, dolphins, and more. But beyond just having fun, they can also learn about marine life. The Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium is a must-visit spot for families traveling to Okinawa. The aquarium features the 'Kuroshio Sea' tank, which holds 7,500 cubic meters of water. Countless fish swim right before your eyes, making you feel like you're underwater. Inside, there's a whale shark about 9 meters long, and its presence is truly awe-inspiring.

Okinawa's BEST Aquarium
Exploring this aquarium was an absolute delight for our family. We were mesmerized by the captivating displays, which beautifully showcased a diverse range of sea creatures in their natural environments. Witnessing the graceful presence of the whale shark up close was a particular highlight for our children, and the multiple viewing spots provided unique perspectives throughout our visit. Not only was the experience both educational and entertaining, but it also left us with lasting memories of the ocean's wonders. As a helpful tip, just before reaching the souvenir shop at the end of the aquarium, there's an opportunity to have your photo taken and receive a complimentary printed copy along with a calendar. Additionally, there's the option to purchase a regular-sized print and a digital copy, which we couldn't resist due to their irresistible charm.
Wish I could visit Ocean Park's aquarium in HK as well!

Churaumi Aquarium - Okinawa
Churaumi Aquarium is located on the northern part of Okinawa, about an hour and a half drive from Naha. The aquarium is situated close to the seaside, where visitors can also enjoy the view of the ocean upon entering the aquarium. The aquarium features diverse species of marine life, which are predominantly native or can be found on the coasts of Japan. The aquarium is also the first facility in the world to artificially birthed a shark. Information on the marine species are available in both Japanese and English.

Okinawa Attractions: Kouri + Churaumi
1. Kouri Ocean Tower
Address - 538 Kouri, Nakijin, Kunigami District, Okinawa 905-0406
Highlights - “Observation tower overlooking the sea.” Pictures do not give Kouri island justice. Tower is beautiful by itself but I think the ocean is the prettiest. Standing by the tower and seeing the bright blue of the ocean is a sight to see.
Rating - 4.2
2. Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium
Address - 424 Ishikawa, Motobu, Kunigami District, Okinawa 905-0206
Highlights - The aquarium is actually located inside a large park area with other great attractions. The aquarium was once considered one of the biggest aquariums in the world. If you ever visit, you will notice that the place holds a variety of different marine animals and species. It can be very picturesque as well!

This is the Churaumi aquarium located in Motobu town, Okinawa. Travelling by car would be an easier choice but there are are also buses that you can take from the airport. I don’t know why but it just feels very therapeutic just to sit there and look at the large Kuroshio sea aquarium, looking at them swimming around. Also do catch their feeding time too! It’s interesting to watch. There is also beluga whale and dolphin show~ They are just too cute! There is also a small park and a sea view to enjoy~
I wish that I could visit more aquariums in the future

Okinawa trip
My friend and I went to Okinawa. It was an amazing trip! the best part is Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium. There are different kind of species. I also recommend for family trip. The Aquarium is well-organized and clean. The city is also very nice. It is somehow different from other cities in Japan, in term of the styles and building. However, Amazing authentic Japanese food are still around the corner! We went there only 3 days but I think we got all the places in our list. We rent a car and drove around the city which is very convenient.
We booked a hotel very close to Aquarium As mentioned above, this place is amazing!#gooutside #staycation #passionpassport

Churaumi Aquarium
The aquarium is far from the airport but worthy to visit.
You need to take the tickets at the domestic arrival hall. Luckily it is only a few minutes away from the international arrival hall.
The Kuroshio Sea is incredible and you can take some really good pictures there. The way that the whale sharks eat is really interesting.
It’s a nice aquarium; however, I expected a little bit more given the reputation for being one of the better aquariums in Japan.
They can certainly expand on the food(restaurant) selections.

The tickets are not cheap, but the aquarium is actually pretty incredible. Also, there is loads to do outside as well. See the dolphin show, feed the turtles and dolphins, play at the playground, walk the gardens.

The aquarium introduces you to the mystery of Okinawa’s marine creatures, starting with the naturally lit Coral Sea tank, which exhibits a large selection of coral reef. Next is the enormous, dynamic Kuroshio Sea tank, where you can observe the world’s biggest fish as well as whale sharks and manta rays, which, in a world first, the aquarium has succeeded in breeding. And as you go deeper into the aquarium, you will encounter the Deep Sea tank, in which the which the mysterious deep sea of Okinawa is reproduced, allowing you to experience Okinawa’s entire underwater world. #wintergetaway

Okinawa is located halfway between Kyushu Island in Japan and Taiwan Province of China. It is the only island prefecture in Japan. If Okinawa is the center of the island, islands such as Miyako Islands and Yaeyama Islands form an arc around the mainland of China. It has a unique environment and a warm and pleasant climate. It is also the only subtropical region in Japan.

Okinawa-forest tunnel to the sea
Really, Motobu Town in the north of Okinawa not only has the famous Ocean Expo Park, but also a very niche attraction called Fukumulin Road. This is a hidden village surrounded by Fukumulin, with a total of 20,000+ Shurong
For more than 300 years, Fukugi was planted by the Okinawa people who lived there for the sake of moisture and wind, and over time, it formed a pleasant forest rain road. When the weather is good, stroll through it.
The sun flickers among the dense foliage, the old tree roots are intertwined, as if entering the fairy tale world of the Wizard of Oz. There are two main roads in the entire area, as well as many dense trails leading to the seaside.
The end of the lush forest tunnel is the blue sea, so the quiet picture makes people look forward to it. Many Okinawa locals will come here to take pictures of wedding dresses!
Get the other side of the blue sky and sea of Okinawa. You can also rent a bicycle at the entrance, or experience the special buffalo cart, and have fun.

The Churaumi Aquarium is widely considered Japan's best aquarium. It is the main attraction of the Ocean Expo Park on the former grounds of the 1975 International Ocean Expo in northern Okinawa Honto. The aquarium was completely redesigned and reopened in 2002.

Its still early to come back from the emerald beach. I think its better to go to Fumulin Road in the other direction. This is a very Buddhist idea, I did not expect it to be completely stunning! In fact, Motobu-cho in the northern part of Okinawa has not only the famous Ocean Expo Park, but also the very small place of Fumulin Road. It is a hidden village surrounded by forests. There are 20,000+ buckwood trees over 300 years old. It was planted by Okinawa people who lived there for the sake of moisture and wind. Over time, a pleasant avenue was formed. When the weather is good, strolling between them, the sun shimmers in the dense foliage, and the roots of the old trees are intertwined, as if walking into the fairy tale world of the Wizard of Oz. There are two main roads in the whole area, as well as many small roads leading to the sea. The end of the lush forest tunnel is the blue sea, so the quiet picture makes people look forward to it. Many Okinawa locals will come here to take a photo shoot!
In addition to the forest landscape, there are many family hotels and restaurants in the entire Fumulin Road area. Their styles are often Japanese-style and early-morning. They are simple but have their own characteristics. Photographing is also very beautiful. You can get blue sky and blue water outside the sea. The other side. You can also rent a bicycle at the entrance or experience the characteristic buffalo car, and have fun.

It's a bit far from Naha, but Sesoko Beach is only a 2-3 minute walk away, so there aren't many people and you can spend a quiet time there.
From the ocean view rooms, you can see the ocean as far as the eye can see.
Even at the end of October, I was still able to go to the beach and the pool.
They have sunset and sunrise yoga classes, and I participated in the sunrise class. It was great to do yoga on the sand while listening to the sound of the waves.
They also have fireworks every Saturday, which entertain the guests. I'd love to go again!

Churaumi Aquarium Okinawa Japan 🇯🇵
The world's 2nd largest aquarium and Japan's 1st ⭐️
There are many zones to visit. The air is cool. The view is beautiful.
The atmosphere is good. There are many food and shopping places. We went early in the morning, but it was still very difficult to find a parking spot. Only a few parking spaces were open on the day we went (we rented a car).
For those who go by bus, it should be more convenient.
The whales are swimming around all the time. Whenever you go, you will definitely see them.
I personally like to sit and watch them in the movie room.
On the way out, there is a place to stop and buy souvenirs.

It was very refreshing and delicious!

Okinawa Motobu Town: A Coastal Scenery and Culinary Journey
Traveling in Okinawa's Motobu Town, the coastal scenery and local cuisine complement each other perfectly. Walking along the coastal paths, the gentle breeze brushes against you, the sound of waves fills your ears, and your eyes are drawn to the blue sea and colorful graffiti. Each piece of graffiti tells a unique story, making you stop to take photos and capture the artistic vibe of this land.
Strolling along the seaside on a sunny afternoon, you can enjoy the scenery of blue skies and white clouds. As the sun sets, the orange sunlight reflects on the sea, creating a dreamy picture. Every step you take, you can feel the leisurely atmosphere of Nago City, enjoying the pleasant afternoon time.
Okinawa's cuisine is another highlight not to be missed. The local Agu pork is famous for its tender meat and evenly distributed marbling. Whether grilled or cooked in soup, the taste is mouth-watering. The Wagyu beef barbecue here is also worth trying, paired with special sauces, each bite is filled with the freshness of the meat and the aroma of the grill.
At a local restaurant in Nago City, Motobu Farm Main Store, I ordered grilled Agu pork with fresh vegetables, and was instantly conquered by the deliciousness. My friend chose Wagyu beef, which was tender and melted in the mouth, making it hard to stop eating.
On the last night of the trip, returning to the seaside and looking at the sea under the starry sky, I felt a lot of emotions. Every scene and every dish in Nago City made me feel the unique charm of Okinawa. This trip was not only a visual enjoyment but also a relaxation and recharge for the soul. I hope to return to this beautiful land in the future to continue exploring more surprises.

It takes about 2 hours to drive from the city. There is plenty of parking. It is recommended to come early in the morning so there are fewer people, and the photos will turn out better.
