In addition to the romantic atmosphere of the city, there are many charming towns around that you should not miss. ㅤ 📍Montserrat A famous pilgrimage site in Spain and the inspiration for Gaudi's Sagrada Familia, a famous monastery village is hidden halfway up the mountain. ✅What to do: Take a train or cable car up the mountain, visit the monastery at the top of the mountain, and listen to the choir sing. 🚗Travel time: About 1 hour ㅤ 📍Girona With beautiful buildings permeated by a variety of cultures and religions, it is also the filming location for King's Landing in Game of Thrones. ✅What to do: Check out the same spots as Game of Thrones, and visit the medieval old town. 🚗Travel time: About 1.5 hours ㅤ 📍Tossa de Mar A beautiful village on the Costa Brava, the filming location for Legend of the Blue Sea, the clear jelly sea is very photogenic. ✅What to do: Check out the photogenic spots, enjoy the view of the city walls, and visit the small wild bays. 🚗Travel time: About 1.5 hours ㅤ 📍Tarragona An important seaport city in ancient Rome, a leisurely town full of historical culture and natural beauty. ✅What to do: Explore various Roman ruins and enjoy the Mediterranean scenery. 🚗Travel time: About 1 hour ㅤ 📍Figueres The hometown of surrealist master Dali, every visitor to this place will be impressed by Dali's extraordinary imagination. ✅What to do: Visit the Dali Theatre-Museum. 🚗Travel time: About 2 hours ㅤ 📍Besalu The whole town is a World Heritage Site, and walking through the ancient buildings is like traveling back to the mysterious Middle Ages. ✅What to do: Take a sightseeing train, and check out the churches and unique street colonnades. 🚗Travel time: About 1.5 hours ㅤ 📍Rupit Like a paradise in the suburbs of Barcelona, the whole village is made of stone, surrounded by green trees, birds, and flowers. ✅What to do: Stroll through the old streets and check out the unique buildings. 🚗Travel time: About 2 hours

If you visit Barcelona, don't forget to dedicate one day to see Montserrat and set off early. Easy DIY for me, but I went out late for my travel to the this sanctuary. Could've savor the place more coz sitting and just watching the place and the mountains if just relaxing. I went in December so it's a bit windy and cold, but tolerable at 15-20 degrees. #EuropeanTravel - Montserrat Viewpoint Many people who travel to Montserrat just see the statue of the Virgin Mary and leave, but I heard from the guide that it is recommended to visit the viewpoint! I went there after taking my time because I was told that it would only take 20 minutes to get there, but it was a bit uncomfortable because there were a lot of steep slopes and dirt roads!
