#thailandtrip #chiangrai Our visit to Wat Saeng Kaew Phothiyan was a mesmerizing journey into one of Northern Thailand's most exquisite temples, recommended by our local guide. Nestled an hour southwest of Chiang Rai along Highway 118, this hidden gem is renowned among locals yet remains largely untouched by foreign tourists. The temple grounds captivated us with a field of towering statues, including Hindu deities like Ganesha and Shiva, adding a unique cultural blend. We tried our luck tossing coins through the navel of a Buddha statue and marveled at the playful sculptures in front of the main prayer hall, where four deities, including demons with quirky modern touches like cigarettes and smartphones, held up a massive bell. The intricate elephant-headed nagas were unlike anything we'd seen before, and climbing the bell tower rewarded us with stunning views of the surrounding area. Wat Saeng Kaew Photiyan truly left a lasting impression with its beauty, creativity, and charm.

The view is great and very beautiful. It feels like it's worth more than the price. The room is clean and homey, the bed is soft and smells very good. The staff provides excellent service, preparing everything for you. The dinner set is incredibly grand and very filling. The room is well-equipped with all necessary amenities, including a hairdryer and a purifier. The room layout is excellent. Akha FarmVille - A Must visit at Chiang Rai

#100WaysOfTravel Visited Chiang Rai in September 2024 and glad to visit this sheep farm. Was lucky to have a wonderful weather that day enabling us to enjoy the awesome view from top of the mountain. You can arrange a grab ride if you’re not driving, and enjoy ur meal & coffee there while mingling with the sheep 🐑 You can buy the food for the sheep at 30 baht and they will be sure to follow you around until the food is finished. 😂 There are 2 dogs taking care of the sheeps and they regularly “walk” the sheep at the command of the on charge there. Definitely an interesting place worth visiting especially if you have kids who usually stay in the city.

Wonderful view at Doi Chang

Today I have went to Doi Chang at Chiang Rai. I went there for taking a slow bar coffee with a nice scenario view. Therefore, it's the best view for me while taking a cup of coffee. I will come back again for sure. The food is fine but coffee is quite great. If you would like to take a nap here there are various resorts and campings around here which you will really love it. Plus, if you would like to come up here by yourself, you better hire a car or rent a 4x4 car as the roads have a lot of curves. Lastly, if you prefer to have other activities than staying in your room you can go to coffee shops, little sheep farm, and generating coffee processes.
